This place in the morning seems to fill up fast with reservations, so we made sure we arrived a half hour after it opened. You come in, and basically seat yourself if you can find a table that is open. Menus should already be on the table, but ask if you need them. Again, learn some German and ask if the waiter or waitress can speak English. We were lucky that our waiter did speak English well enough to order. They do have English menus, but thanks to Google Translate, we ordered from the German one. Since I knew how to speak in German, I ordered for my husband an omelette with cheese and tomatoes, and I decided to try their homemade pancakes, which was actually a crepe with their "buffet" jam. The buffet was literally a shelf along the wall with all different kinds of homemade and store brand jams. Each was more spectacular than the next! Excellent choice for something different on the menu. My hubby's omelette was super yummy and flavorful. The service was not rushed in any way, and the vibe here is very relaxed and laid back. We could tell people were truly enjoying themselves and not rushing to go run off to do something else. If you don't have time to kill, this might not be your place. Great food; great location; great for us!

It is one of my favorite places for a good cup of coffee in this city. I also love buying their beans to take home and use for my home brews. They always offer a variety and are on top of the coffee scene and I really respect and appreciate that. I have to admit that I don't always like the coffee served here (not that it is bad, it is my personal preference with the beans), but what I do love is that it is ever-changing and you ALWAYS have options. I sometimes just opt for a roast I know I may not like to try it out. Sorry Amkeni :( The baristas are super knowledgeable and will always assist with any questions you may have. It is also awesome that they do the roasting on site. YES. I continue to go here any time I'm in this part of the city and always look forward to what they have to offer.

What a great little cafe in Frankfurt's Nordend!…read more I came here during Yelp's Coffee Week and this was the one cafe I went to all week that I hadn't been to prior, so I was really keeping my fingers crossed for a hidden gem. And it definitely was. I was greeted very kindly as soon as I walked through the door and immediately sat down in the upper section at a table alone. During this time, it seemed as though the place filled a little with regular patrons (it seemed as though this cafe has a dear and loyal following which is amazing). I ordered a cappuccino and decided to forego an acai bowl as I had already eaten lunch for the day. Probably a mistake, but I'll be back soon! The cappuccino was good (not the best I've ever had although I'm a bit of a coffee snob) and was very satisfying that day. My favorite thing about this place was the warmth inside of it from a hospitality stand point. This is the first time, in Frankfurt, that I've been inside a cafe that I could see myself coming back to just to read or write. It was so cozy and colorful- it made me feel inspired from the moment I walked in there. I have a bad feeling I will be spending a lot of money at this place in the future! As I left and made my way a bit down the street, I realized I had forgotten to pay! I ran back to the cafe and the owner was so kind and cordial about it and was laughing. I felt like an idiot, but she reassured me it was no big deal and that I could have paid the next time I came through the doors. Ohhhh how I have missed superb customer service. And this place has it! I paid and, happily, went on my way after that. I don't think it will be long before I head back and enjoy an acai bowl and a cocktail! We had some business downtown so this was the perfect place to stop for a coffee. We sat close to…read morethe building, which is great because it was a little cool and they have blankets out. This is a gorgeous historical building. We ordered coffee right away, and were hoping to order some cake when the waitress came back. After about 15 minutes when she came out to take another order, I asked about our coffee, and she said it was on the way.. When the coffee finally came it was great, Lavazza, but we decided not to order cake because we didn't want to sit there another hour. I actually asked to pay which also took another 10 minutes. So I can't really talk about the food or the cake, but the coffee was excellent. If you have time and are looking for a fun place to people watch this is it. Of course, it is right on the Hauptwache, so you're in the center of everything. Please also enjoy my video of the church bells, which went on for about five minutes. And last, but not least I just want to mention one more thing. In Germany, a tip is not expected, but you give it when the service is good. Usually people round up to the nearest Euro, or maybe to the next. My mom ended up paying, and rounded up an extra, I hopped in and said to add an extra Euro, because I thought maybe the waitress was having a bad day, the service was certainly not great. . But the waitress got snippy and said she didn't have change for that, threw the ten Euro change bill on the table, and walked away. Maybe they prefer you pay with card?
