Also interestingly to note, the decor is a bit profane in the dining room, so that is worth looking at. (Bluefin Tartare: B) - Their bluefin tartare is paired with avocado and ponzu, some classic flavors that work well. The presentation is also elegant. Unfortunately, the rice is a bit hard, which made this dish unpleasant but is otherwise tasty. (Pan Seared Duck: D) - While the duck was cooked nicely with a juicy pink center, I found the accompaniments to be unideal. The saurkraut is incredibly sour and overwhelms the dish, especially given the ratio of cabbage to duck. Furthermore, the dumplings simply tasted like a ball of flour, which was is unfavorable to consume. -- Food: -1 Presentation: +1 Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +2 Menu: E Overall: +2 B Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

I don't quite have the words to describe this amazing restaurant. The only way I can describe it…read moreis saying it is simply the best food I've ever eaten. And I lived in New Orleans for goodness sake's! Two chef brothers who have a way with the same ingredients most kitchens can have and yet still create the most original, and delicious foods I have ever tasted. We came in under dressed for lunch and we were seated immediately. My wife and I ordered a Caprese salad type starter that was heavenly. Then we had a foamy asparagus mushroom soup, and it was spectacular. My wife and I shared a steak and scallop potatoes. You may think, "that seems safe." But it wasn't. The potatoes were amazing and the steak was outstanding. The flavors were unique and original. In house sorbet for dessert. Oh! And I almost forgot! All of this was paired with a German white wine that was made essentially for this restaurant. All of this was so delicious that we decided to return for dinner. We were given a starter that was on the house and I can't tell you what it was but it was tasty. My wife ordered a very thin crust pizza-ish type of meal that was fantastic! I ordered the sea bass and mashed potatoes. So freaking good! We ordered a bottle of the wine we drank for lunch. The service was top notch, super friendly, and forthcoming with all of the questions we asked. We finished the night with a very nice crème brûlée and sorbet. I can't recommend this place enough. The atmosphere is beautiful, honestly I was so impressed with the food I hardly looked around except for the one wall that has Boccelli type woman on the entire wall. Do yourself a favor and get to this restaurant as quickly as you can. You're welcome.

Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

They're trying to stick to the monastery beer vibe but it doesn't hit the mark in that regard. The old place was cozy and old and felt authentic, this place is new, loud and generic. Maybe it's not so bad and I'm sore because I miss the old place but it just doesn't feel the same. Service was good, food was good, beer cold but it still feels like every other place out there. Probably won't be back, unfortunately. If you like well lit, upscale, generic restaurants try this one out. The food is good but the ambience is off.

The restaurants does two settings per night with only a 5-course offering maximum for the first round. Regardless, the food was ample for the 5-course choice and I was more than pleased with the experience. While the space is quite small and the staff are always having to move in and around one another to include guests, it works and provides quite an intimate space. The menu is quite straight forward as are the wine pairings, making a choice quite simple so one can get to the meal quickly. The food and service were both great and I have no complaints. From the bread and butter service to the courses themselves, each was of high quality, great looking, and even better tasting. If you are not planning out weeks in advance, getting a reservation here might be a challenge. The wines were mostly German and again, high quality as the wine regions all offer great combinations with the food. All occasions can be served by a visit to Bidlabu and I'm glad I could fit in a reservation.
