We hired Denver Concrete after a nightmarish spring and summer of failed concrete patio endeavors…read more We had not one, but two patios poured between April and July of 2026, by two different companies. The first patio was poured in the rain, which resulted in an adverse impact on the final product and its structural integrity. We contracted with a second company to replace the damaged patio, who somehow managed to produce an even worse product without adverse weather involved. At this point, we elected to take some time away from the project to decide if a concrete patio was indeed right for us. After dusting things off again, we contracted with Denver Concrete for a stamped concrete patio with a broom finish border using Solomon Integral Color and Brickform Antique Release. (Quote attached for reference.) These were the same specifications that were used for the previous patio, and we made it abundantly clear that we were looking for the same product, just without the integrity issues and major imperfections. In true Colorado fashion, nailing down a date to begin work was tricky. Our sales representative, Simon, and I kept in touch via text as weather forecasts evolved and agreed to a placeholder the week of September 8th. Simon set the expectation that he would touch base closer to that date to confirm, which did not happen. I received a phone call late afternoon on September 7th from a gentleman named Lee, who we would later find out was the owner of the company. He let me know that they would not be able to start our project on September 8th because they forgot that the supply plant was closed on the Labor Day holiday, which impacted another job. I returned Lee's phone call and let him know that I still hadn't heard from Simon to finalize the start date and that we weren't going to be able to make work arrangements on such short notice. We then connected with Simon again to try to schedule a new date. At this point, rain continued to persist in the forecast and we began exploring the possibility of working around the rain. Simon set the expectation that Lee would call us to discuss a preparedness plan for pouring in the rain, but Lee never called. Communication would continue to prove frustrating from here. We arrived at demo day, to which the team showed up nearly an hour late. When Simon arrived, he let us know the crew would be 5-6 team members and that they were even looking to pour the same day. By the end of day one of our project, demo hadn't even been completed, nor had forms been set. Only 1-2 crew members were present at any given time. On day two, a larger crew arrived and made quick work of what was left. The concrete was poured, tooled and stamped, but we noticed that an Antique Release had not been applied. We had not been notified of any changes in the contracted process, but at the end of the working day, we were advised that they would be using a different product called Antique It. We trusted the team knew what they were doing and didn't question the change. From here, it would be nearly two more weeks before next steps were taken on the patio. A Friday/Saturday combination had been offered to us, which we agreed we could make work. This target moved two more times due to continued issues with Denver Concrete. When we finally received a date (yet another PTO day for us), the finisher showed up to our project unprepared and unable to complete any work. Eventually, we got to the application of the Antique It product, and, as we anticipated, the patio immediately looked much different than our previous patios. The team had departed for the day, so we messaged Lee via text with our concerns. We learned from Lee that their team doesn't actually offer Antique Release as a part of their stamping service, even though that's what we contracted for. This was the first we were hearing of this. Once the sealant had a chance to set, we reconnected with Lee to discuss our concerns further. At this point, we were ready to simply have them remove the Antique It product (which the finishing team told us they could easily do) and simply seal the patio. We were willing to look past their dishonesty, the poor finishing, as well as the water pooling/ice hazard on the new step, (photos attached), so that we could simply move on with our landscaping project. Our phone call with Lee was met with a very heated temperament, where he continuously accused us of lying and elected to raise his voice rather than exercising composure. Lee became so inappropriate that we no longer felt comfortable working with him. On more than one occasion during our conversation, Lee stated that our money "meant nothing to him" and offered to refund our deposit, to which we agreed. To this day, neither Simon nor Lee have responded to our messages requesting information regarding the agreed upon refund. As such, are now moving forward with pursuing legal action. We highly recommend looking elsewhere for your concrete needs.

Fernando took the time to protect my grass from the back and forth of removing the concrete he excavated and was very careful around all the various delicate obstacles (valve boxes, wiring, irrigation, etc). My house is highly secure, and to that end I have cameras covering every square inch of it - and it was really fun to pull them up from time to time to see how the job was progressing and watch how he was able to surgically remove concrete attached to the house with a piece of heavy equipment without a single chip of the house going with it. After a horrible experience with a fly-by-night vapid company with suspected fake reviews before this, it was refreshing to deal with someone who worked so hard and was so pleasant to deal with. They did what they said they would do, but the work was not up to my standards. This last project was a curb cut in Denver. Javier bid the job before we started and gave me a number. As it turned out, he apparently hadn't accounted for everything the project required, so the scope changed and he came back charging me 50% more than the original quote. Had I known that would happen, I never would have moved forward with him on this project. I will not be using this contractor again on any of our jobs, and their finish work is lackluster to say the least.

I'd hired Augustin to lay a concrete pad for my sauna and hot tub about two years ago; two years…read morelater and it's holding up great! I recently purchased a greenhouse that requires a gravel pad under it for drainage, etc. Since I had such a good experience with him last time, I decided to contact him hoping he'd made gravel pads before, and he agreed to do it within a few days of my initial contact. He gave me a price upfront that was very fair, and even threw in the timber frame on thinking about it for free. He and two other guys showed up in the morning on the day we'd scheduled, and they immediately got to work leveling an ~2% grade where the pad would sit. Despite it being a bit hard to access (there's a small gate, then a bit of a trip to get to the site in my backard), they managed to get the area excavated in just a few hours using just wheelbarrows. They worked diligently putting down textile barrier, laying the timber frame, filling it a little with gravel, tamping it with a machine, and then repeating. I was very glad they did it in stages as the greenhouse directions stated, and the angular gravel they used was exactly what was called for and quite attractive besides. The timber frame is staked down in several places along the perimeter with some pretty hefty stakes, and the whole thing feels solid. There was a sprinkler head in the site that they capped off for me for free, too. They would have finished that day if it weren't for an intense storm, and to their credit they even worked a bit in the rain. I was especially impressed that, unasked, they moved a super heavy box of my greenhouse parts under cover that was left out and was going to get drenched. They returned promptly the next morning and finished up the job. Frankly, this would've taken me several weekends and a huge amount of effort to do myself, so having it done in just two days was incredible. Augustin's a great, friendly, no-nonsense guy; I really enjoyed our interaction. The pad's held up great since it was installed a week and a half ago; it's been through several sprinkler runs as well as torrential storms and it's drained beautifully and looks intact. I'd highly recommend Augustin for any hardscape projects like this. I'll definitely be contacting him again should I need more work done.

I needed to have crack chasing and filling on my concrete driveway. This is the process of widening…read morecracks with grinder and then filling with compound to prevent undermining by water and future re-cracking. I contacted several companies who said my driveway would need to be torn out and re-poured without ever looking at the job. Augustin gave an estimate that was very reasonable, came when he said he would and performed the work. He also filled cracks in my concrete walkway even though I had not thought that would be included in the estimated work. Toward the end , he ran out of compound but returned later in the evening with more purchased compound to complete the repair. Really nice guy. A plus,plus,plus work. If your concrete driveway has cracks in it, you should hire Augustin's company now before the freeze/thaw season starts.
