The Nest Event Center - Inside their new location

The Nest Event Center

(4 reviews)

Wow!! What a transformation!! I haven't seen this building since it was Jonathan Byrd's restaurant…read more The exterior is now black and white which is very classic and understated. The Nest Event Center is located in Greenwood just off I-65 at Main Street. The parking lot is quite large and will accommodate a large event. The interior is amazing and you'd never know it was a former restaurant. The lobby area is very attractive, decorated in beiges and cream, and I could see using this for cocktails, a reception line plus so much more. It worked well tonight for purchasing tickets plus an area to sit and relax while enjoying the fireplace. The versatile ballroom is quite large and can handle everything from a wedding, conference to special events. One of those special events is the Holiday Craft Show tonight. The Event Center has a neutral color scheme and can accomadate most bridal or conference color schemes. This proved to be true with all the colors associated with the Holiday Craft Show. Tonight all different color schemes were used and all the crafts looked wonderful. With this neutral backdrop any decor theme would work nicely allowing brides or companies a great deal of flexibility and creativity. The Holiday Craft Show was a huge draw. Many different types of vendors filled the ballroom carrying Christmas decor, wreaths, jewelry, clothing, wool mittens, woodworking projects, signs, candles, crocheted items, lap blankets, floral arrangements and much more. There truly was something for most anyone's interest and many gift ideas. In the future I would like to take an official tour and checkout pricing for a yearly event I'm involved with. This is a beautiful venue with endless potential.

They are so helpful and nice and go above and beyond in making your event absolutely perfect! The location is absolutely perfect for any event you might have, weddings, birthdays, anniversary's, literally anything. There is only one issue that I have with the nest. I had never believed in the supernatural before... but this place is indisputably haunted. There is absolutely no question about it! But don't let that deter you! The haunting spirits just add to the charm and fun of this event center. I hope you have an amazing event!

We came on a Friday and although it was busy, it was overall easy to find a parking spot and table. A lot of people bring their own chairs or blankets which could be helpful in the future When we came, there were a lot of food trucks to choose to so can't speak on the food at urban apples, but their ciders were tasty! I got a flight and enjoyed trying different flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of their "regular" cider but I enjoyed the raspberry one and mixed berry. The cinnamon one was also tasty! There is a huge outdoor area and our kids loved playing in the open field and going down the tunnel slides. There's also a play area and other things we want to check out the next time we come. Definitely a fun spot to hang out with the family!

I truly wanted to love this place, as it's a unique property owned locally. Always up to support…read morelocal! But two bad visits have me off the rails. We visited on a Friday evening when they had a Beatles tribute band performing. Nice, and no cover charge! We were starving, so we popped right into the long line to order food. When we finally queued up at the bar, I asked for recommendations and was told the burgers were excellent, so I ordered one. A bit of a shocker - we were told there could be up to an hour wait for food, despite the fact that the building was less than 50% full. It was also a little chilly, so there were just a few peeps outdoors. But I appreciated the honesty. Over 90 minutes later (!), our buzzer finally went off and we picked up our food. And it was not worth the very long wait. As seen in the pic I uploaded, my burger looked like it had been sitting under warming lights for some time. The beef had a nice dark char to it, but after a bite, it was clear that additives had produced that attractive color. There was a good amount of beef, but the processed taste was a huge turnoff. The chips were interesting! They may have been made in-house, as there were big, billowy pieces that were delish, but other chips were moist enough that you could actually fold them. A touch less salt and they would have been an 8 out of 10, in my humble opinion. So I paid $14 for a burger that tasted clearly pre-processed after waiting 90 minutes in a half-full restaurant. No thank you.

Loved the yard games and chalk, a worker (I assume) came out and gave my son a ball and balloon which made his day and kept him busy which was kind. Not so good: first time here and they were out of almost all of the food, and I think only one person working because it took a good 10+ min to see anyone to order my beer. Again first time here so I was confused; was I in the wrong spot, do I go up front to order? Do I need to use the QR code for beer? I ended up asking some people in the area and they said "oh you're in the right spot, I just haven't seen anyone in quite some time." Suggestion would be more signage as to where to order, and maybe even a "will return in X min" sign so you know someone is working somewhere and have a better idea of when they will return to set expectations. If the guy, who I assume worked there, didn't come out and give my son a ball, fill the dogs water bowl up, etc. then I would have been uninterested in returning, but I think I'm going to chalk it up to a holiday and it being hard to find service people. Since they have Guggman beers I may be back if I'm looking for a dog and kid friendly location.

What a perfect chill spot! This place has great drinks and you can order from 317 BBQ next door,…read morethey'll bring it out to you. The beers are great, they have a few that are always on the menu. I like to try the new ones that come out. What I also like about this location is that they have coloring pages, probably meant for kids but I partook in that. I did however do some work while I was there. Didn't need the internet and I'm not sure if they have WiFi for clients. The bartenders are always great and patient when I'm asking to sample all the new beers. Check it out if you're in the area.
