These guys were great. They came in and knocked out our entire fence in a day. Their prices were unbeatable as well.

McCord Landscape - New fence and old fence coming together

We got multiple…read morequotes all in the same price range but were most impressed by Tim's prompt reply to our request, his professionalism, and his clear eagerness to deliver exactly what we we're looking for. After the neighboring property burnt down and firefighters had to damage our existing fence, they built a beautiful new length of fence in less-than-ideal ground conditions--big rocks, building debris, a concrete pad, broken portions of old fence... Workmanship perfect, timing amazing, friendly, courteous staff, utmost care in the job they did. Above and beyond overall!

A neighbor of mine took it upon herself to remove hedges that were growing on my property, leaving…read morea nine-foot gap and a full view into what had previously been a very tranquil wooded garden. I reached out to Tim McCord, explained my situation, and was blessed to have him come over within hours to assess the situation. Tim toured the site with me, listened to my vision, and, genuinely, provided a very 'human' sense of understanding to a man who was heated about what the neighbor had done. I knew that a fence was the best way to address the 'gaping wound'--and Tim's empathetic demeanor helped me to relax and look toward a positive resolve. I was doubly encouraged that HE sensed the urgency and made the project a priority. This morning (just a couple days later) David and Austin arrived with the supplies to put up a 20-foot length of privacy fence. I felt like it mattered to these guys that I not only had a fence but that I had the integrity of that portion of my yard restored. They worked expediently and with integrity, discussing my concerns and stewarding them thoughtfully. It was evident they understood the stress the neighbor had caused and were invested in helping me restore peace to the situation. I actually sat down to have lunch with the guys when the work was done and discussed other projects. David was great in helping me understand more about the company, to affirm how much respect people have for Tim, and to make me feel completely confident that, when other landscape needs arise, I will 100% call McCord.

Both were done very well, and still look great after many years. They also cleaned up every bit of scraps or debris left after installation. We would use them again and recommend them to friends.

We already had a chain link fence installed by the previous owner about 2 years ago, but we didn't mind. I don't know what their arrangement was with Lee's but it was taking FOREVER. It was all really a non-issue until I came home from work one day & let my two dogs out, one of whom is a very recent rescue & still wanders off from time to time. I turned around & Dexter was gone; he was in the neighbors' backyard, on their deck. How did he get out of our fenced in yard? It wasn't fenced in anymore. I ran to the neighbors' yard, got the pup, & talked to the two men doing the work. They said that the neighbor told them to take our fence down & it was gone. I told them that I needed it back the next day. The new fence no longer left our yard enclosed & I was not happy. The fencers said it was no problem; they'd bring our fence back the next day & fix the areas that were no longer enclosed. We talked to our neighbors a couple of hours later & cleared up the miscommunication, thinking all was well. The next day, the fencers finished the neighbors' fence & closed the two holes that left us vulnerable, but did not return the ~100 ft of chain link that they had removed from our property without our permission. We had some urgent family matters come up & were not able to address it right away, so I didn't get around to reaching out to Lee's until two weeks later. Since then, I had also discovered that Lee's had broken the structure that holds our firewood which isn't a huge deal, but isn't acceptable. I sent an email & heard nothing all day. I called around 3.30p & got Chris, who was incredibly rude to me. He told me they got my email & were figuring it out. I asked if I could speak with anyone about it & he said no. I pushed a little more & he said, "whattyou want me to tell you? Maybe they'll call you tomorrow." The next day, I called shortly after they opened & spoke with Pete. The man would not let me speak, yelled over me, & forced me to the point of having to tell him "stop talking and let me speak" multiple times. The things that he told me made no sense on their own but, when put altogether, were completely contradictory. Here's a summary: 1) this is between my neighbor and I and he's stuck in the middle 2) he never heard from me until a month later (it hadn't even been a month at that point) 3) he knew his workers told me they'd bring the fence back, but that isn't something they do 4) it's not their responsibility to get MY permission to take MY fence, verbally or in writing 5) they didn't get a permit or check the land to see that the chain link was on my property because it's not their responsibility 6) they DID check the land map and the chain link was never on my property 7) when they came to give my neighbors the estimate, they told the neighbors that it would be best to take our fence down because there would be a gap that would be impossible to mow, otherwise and that we shouldn't mind because their fence was going to be nicer. What stood out the most to me in all of that was the last part: they knew the fence was on our property but they never got permission to be on our property at all, much less steal from us. Pete told me there was nothing that could be done, as my fence was in the dump, he wasn't spending his whole day dealing with this, and I could "f$&% off". My husband stopped by Lee's after work but Chris was the only one in the office; he treated my husband the same way he had treated me on the phone the day before and said that Pete would call the next day. We have tried to reach him several times but we have never heard back. We consulted with a lawyer and have been advised that we have a case however, the cost to pursue this far outweighs the cost of the fence. I guess the second best thing I can hope for is to expose this small family business for what it truly is.

It is the first picture in the series. When I first met Cody, I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, he seemed very in-tune with what we wanted to accomplish. I reviewed different companies pricing estimates. Lannis' was not close to the cheapest but also not the most expensive. However, I felt good about my experience with Cody, so I called him to move forward with the project. We ran into a few hiccups along the way, but eventually we made it to install day. Day 1 the crew showed up with the materials. My wife immediately noticed an issue. The wire that was provided for the project was not what was requested. It was a cheap flimsy rubber coated wire that was pliable with your fingers. Not near strong enough to keep our dogs from destroying it at their first chance. You can see in the photos below that even with the additional supports (we did not want) the wire is still very flimsy and was even broken in spots during installation. We reached out to Cody to bring light to the issue (prior to install). After talking with Cody about the wire, he spoke with the project manager Tom. Tom agreed that the wire was not sufficient for the design. This is where the problems really begin. We were basically told that they could not get the wire that would be necessary to complete the project they originally quoted. That the only solution was to add supports across the design so that the lack of strength in the wire would not be an issue. This fix would cost us and additional $1600 Literally the definition of bait and switch. We had already moved into the house at this point and we both work full time. We needed to get this fence completed ASAP so our dogs could go out on their own during the day. Feeling backed into a corner we agreed to their solution. I then talked with the installers and inquired how long they thought it would take with the design change. This was on a Friday. He told me they could have it done by the end of the weekend. Saturday comes and they have the majority of the posts dug. Sunday nobody shows up. No problem, I wasn't sure if they work on Sunday or not. Then nobody shows Monday-Wednesday. Wednesday evening, I realize why. They won't send workers back out until I have signed the new invoice with the extra $1600. I sign it electronically; workers show up the next day and finish the project... kinda. We agreed that the gap between fence and ground would be about 1 inch. As you can see in the pictures, the gap around 90% of the fence is closer to 6-12 inches. Large enough for my small dog to weasel his way right under. There were also several rotten (black) boards being used. I noticed this during the install and immediately texted Cody with pictures. He acknowledged that those were mistakes, and they would be easy to rectify. He would have them swap out the rotten boards and fix the gaps at the bottom. As you can see in the pictures. We still have rotten boards, and to "fix" the gaps at the bottom, they just spread the dirt from the post holes around the bottom of the fence. As it rains their fix just erodes away. What doesn't erode away is the concrete mounds they left in my yard. Also pictured. I never needed Lannis to go above and beyond. I only needed them to do what they said they would do when we agreed to their quote. The fence we got is nothing like the one we signed up for. I have never heard from Cody post install. Also, you'll notice in their pictures they put their little plaque on your fence, so everyone knows who installed it... Not mine. I wonder why?
