You expect quality service when paying over 100$ for a hair style. First thing was the hairstylist was late, the appointment being originally scheduled for 4p but instead she decided to update the time on the booking app (without the customer consent) and still arrived 20 minutes late. Secondly, the hair stylist was given a picture of the design that was wanted by the customer but she decided to do freestyle a little bit and ultimately the hair style could of been better. Professionalism is key! Quality is a must! Please do better, you have so much potential.

It's been almost 5 years since I have been in a professional shop to get hair care. I had been natural for almost 4 1/2 years. It was explained to me that Nikki does not do natural hair (but there is a woman in the shop that does style natural hair, but I do not remember her name). Before setting an appointment for Nikki I had already made the decision for myself that I wanted to get a perm, so Nikki not working on natural hair was not an issue for me. I wanted a perm because my hair is so short I wanted a softer look. My first visit with Nikki started very well (even though she was a little late to the appointment and I was her first client for the day) and I thought it was well understood how I wanted my hair styled. I was not 100% satisfied with my final style; however, I received a grand scale of compliments. I believe I just had a few personal reservations because like I said this was the first time in 5 years that I was letting a professional tend to my hair. I assume there was a misunderstanding to how I wanted my hair curled. The perm itself was AMAZING! My hair has not laid down like that since I don't l know when. And even days later when I washed my hair at home, it was still very soft and straight. The texture of my hair after Nikki styled it was great. My hair was not crunchy but instead the curls were on point and soft to the touch. I have been to Nikki again since my first visit. Her and I a chance to discuss the last visit and I expressed my desire for fine tune adjustments to the styling. Nikki hit it on the head for the style I wanted for my hair this time. I will definitely go back to her again and I look for to playing around with colors and weave styles with her. I live in the community and always try to support in the community, so I am grateful to have stammered across this gem. The only pointer I would suggest to a new client for Nikki is a photo that really captures the way you want your hair to be styled.

This was my first time having my locs retwisted in about a year, and the appt. came through as a result of a recommendation from my Mom's barber, whose hair she does. I will admit, I was worried because I don't let just anybody mess with my hair. However, I must say, this sister has skills. I informed her I was tender-headed and she reassured me stating that she was too. She took her time, got to know my hair, examined it to see how it grew, then set to work. Five hours later, I was looking at a me I hadn't seen in a while. And a quite fly looking me if I must say. The place has been open since April, and they have barbers, stylists, spa treatments, and a tattoo shop on top of all that. You can park in the lot right next to the shop, but parking on the east side of the street is available too. If you want somebody to give you that treatment that reminds you of being a kid getting hair parted and oiled, see my girl Dasha. Unfortunately, she only does hair one weekend out of the month so her clientele is limited. Oh, and they even gave me the remote to the TV! Great service. I'm most definitely going back.

I also give the thumbs up to my second hair stylist (who doesn't want her name revealed so I'll just say it starts with an F). She's really good, too, and I've let her chop off 75% of my hair twice into two very fierce (and very short) haircuts. Renee was an expert with feathering and sculpting. F-beautician is really good at cuts and making sure I like what she's doing as she does it. (This is important to me because I've tried other hair stylists who do styles that they like without regard to me liking them.) This is the reason I refuse to go to other salons on a regular basis. I've lived in three different states, and no matter what, I always return right back to this hair salon (16 years and counting) whenever I want a new hairdo. I've tried other places, but I almost always end up irritated. And the owner of this salon is super pleasant. She does a great job on nails. I think the focus now is most of the salon has been transitioned into a health club, but the salon is still in the back.
