Massages at Pandian Health are cheap, conveniently located, and usually available without an…read moreappointment. I also like that they are clothed massages, dispensing with the extra time and expense of disrobing and using a private room and additional linens that will then need to be laundered. All of this makes up for the inconsistency of the massages Pandian provides. Over the years, I have had massages ranging from sublime to horrendous, and often somewhere in between. I should point out that the massages I have had at luxury spas also are not guaranteed to satisfy - I have had my share of disappointments there too. The bottom line: I will rarely seek out a luxury experience, saving those for when I find myself in a resort situation. For my more quotidien needs, this basic set up in a modest mall fits the bill. Think of it as a house red vs fine Bordeaux. Each has their place in my world.

Very pleasant interaction. It was not cleansing or extraction focused. Maybe there was silicone in the products but after the initial glow I did not feel clean or lasting. I had a very bad reaction to the COVID jab that has left me with some musculoskeletal and vascular diseases that cause a great deal of pain and inflammation throughout my body. Li is an expert at lymph node drainage. After a few 80 minute sessions, my pain is relieved and I'm once again able to walk for 10 minutes at a time. Li assessed my specific issues and tailored my massage accordingly. Thanks to Li, much of my inflammation has dissipated and that has helped me walk again without some form of assistance. So thanks again Li, you're kind-hearted and knowledgeable.

I had a heavenly experience today with Angela - an extremely knowledgeable professional. She is a…read morefavorite at Massage Crystal, and I now know why. This was my second visit - and I knew I would return from the moment I walked in, the first time. I enjoyed the 60 minute session on that visit two weeks ago. I felt like I was walking on clouds when I walked out! That's my litmus test of a truly life-changing spa experience! The staff is personable, courteous and helpful - which does so much to enhance the upscale, calm and serene ambiance. And the prices are very reasonable - I have paid more elsewhere, for far less quality! Today, (5/24), I had the 90-minute session with medicated oil and hot stones add-on. Outstanding! I am a deep tissue massage client. Angela not only asked me about my areas of need, she also guided me through the process, step by step as she kneaded my joints, muscles, tendons, and performed firm, but gentle range of motion tests. Her assessment included tips on how to remedy/alleviate the tension in those areas. However, there was minimal talking, only when necessary. The soft music and dimmed lights were perfect for maximum relaxation. I could go on and on singing the praises of Massage Crystal and team! I have added these visits to my wellness regimen - and am taking Angela's advice! I highly recommend this spa for their top tier treatment, sleek and modern furnishings, calm environment, exceptional massage therapists and staff. Dena (sp) at the front desk today, reminded me about my Massage Crystal card (thankfully in my wallet), and stamped it for me. You know I made an appointment for next month! 10/10 = Walking on clouds sensation!

*Part 2 Of 2* 12/15/24…read moreThe Massage Experience: Once ready, I climbed on to the massage table and waited for Mei to enter the room. Mei started with my neck and worked her way down to my back. I remember her doing things differently than other massage therapists. I liked how Mei layered the massage cream onto my skin without seeming to remove her hands from my body. I liked this style of hers. It felt great the way she did it. I will be sure to request her again for a two hour session. While Mei massaged my shoulders and back, her method of massage was mainly her forearms and elbows. While my right shoulder was sore from tension, she did help relieve a good amount of pain. Mei's forearm on my gluteus maximus wasn't bad, but her elbow on my glutes was too strong. I asked Mei to use her hands and fingers more. She did not fully understand what I was saying, so used a method in American Sign Language called Classifiers, to help her understand. I simply used my own hands on my glutes and demonstrated massaging my backside with hands and fingers. Mei got the message and got down to business. Mei learned too that I am not one for hot stone massage. Now that I am saying this, why do I think someone might say "John, you know hot stone massage might help your right shoulder." Maybe, Should Be, Could Be or Would Be, I will try it out next time I get a massage in September. Mei did a good job on my body, but most of the massage was focused on the area with the most amount of tension . By the time Mei finished massaging my legs, my 90 minutes were almost up. Mei finished off my massage with a foot massage using petroleum jelly and suave lotion. This method seemed to make my feet less greasy. This is a good thing considering I was wearing tevas. Mei used a hot towel to get any leftover residue off my feet so I wouldn't slip and slide. I left a decent tip for Mei. I will definitely come back here again, but next time I will make an appointment so she will be available. I recommend trying this place out. The prices are fair and you get your money's worth too. If you wish to get a private room, it is better that you call and make an appointment. 90 minutes is great, but to get the Full Monty, two hour or three is your best bet. Needful Things-In Case You Didn't Know: Since there is a good side of things. I am compelled to express my concerns on things I saw while getting my massage. When I spoke about the massage table being too close to the doorway/curtain area, I wasn't kidding. Since I do not like putting my face in the hole of the massage table, I noticed the curtain move and a person's face appeared in the gap. After the person and I locked eyes, the person quickly moved away and the curtain resumed it previous position. Invasion of privacy is not welcome. This is not the first time I have experienced something like this. I let it go. Possible mistake?! Maybe. My body started to relax again, when I saw the curtain open back up again. This is when I was on my back this time around. The same scenario played out again. My mind started thinking a sign of some kind should go up letting staff know the room is occupied. If this continues to happen, people might start refusing to pay for invasion of privacy. I let the second intrusion slide as well, but there will not be another one without consequences. Please put a sign up letting others know the room is in use. Apparently curtains closed isn't an indication the room is in use.
