My over all experience about living in 'elements' was good and that's mainly because three reasons: Amazing Management Team: The management team at elements is simply awesome. They are the best set of professional people I have ever interacted with. You will simply get the best possible service with a big smile always!! Superb Location with beautiful view: The location can't be any better if you are looking to stay at downtown Bellevue. Library, Transit Center, Hospital, Pubs & Restaurants, Groceries all are in close proximity. Also, some of the apartments have beautiful outside views. Very well maintained apartments, gym, pool and common areas: The property is very well maintained. Gym equipments are modern, common place has pool board, swimming pool water is clean and temperature controlled. read more

The element was an amazing experience for me and my family for a staycation. Staff went above and beyond expectations to assure our stay was priceless. Element offer awesome amenities; weight room, restaurants, bakery, lap pool, cross fit in door out door facilities as well as a 20 seat in house theater. Elements was the best experience I've ever had living at an apartment complex. The building was clean and the apartments were great. The best part about the living experience was the staff. I had the pleasure of dealing with Austin, Tate and Arnold on several occasions and they were always polite and helpful. I always felt as if they really cared about the residents and they were always friendly. I don't ever think I ever saw one of them in a bad mood. Not a safe place. Too many fire/ water flow incidents happen in this building. Management team does not care at all.

I have lived here for 1 year and love it. It is pricey, but for the location and the view I have from one of the higher floors, it is well worth the money to me. The design is very modern with 2 different color schemes to choose from depending on the floor you are on. It is so much better than the plain white walls in most apartments. The amenties are great too! Gym with 24 hour access, a 14 seat movie theater with weekly movies to be able to meet other residents in the building and get togethers on holidays in the club room. You can go to the club room any evening and just hang out by the fireplace, watch TV or use the wireless internet connection. There is also a office you can use with wireless internet access if you need to study or do work in a quiet place. There are also retail business starting to come to the building. There is Deyss Salon and Spa, Zen Asian Bistro, Vertigo nightclub and the Ashwood Urban Market. Also there is an art gallery that will have changing displays for local artists. It is higher priced, but well worth the money, if you want something more than four white walls. read more

I lived here for a year and a half and I feel the management is pathetic. Forget any emergency help, even if they made a mistake (the key fob stopped working one day), I was returning from business travel, and I couldn't reach emergency maintenance for hours. When I somehow did manage to reach them, they were asking for 100$ to let me in my apartment with a master key. Again, I am paying for their mistake. On regular days, forget emergency contact, you won't be able to reach them at all. I moved out last week and was charged a non - optional "Express cleaning fees" of 225$. So, I asked, "I am assuming since I am paying for this cleaning, then I don't have to clean everything, as in small marks and stains, right?" To which they said yes. Now that I have moved out, they are charging me another 250$ for stains and small cleaning stuffs, saying it is not covered by express cleaning. Some pictures I don't even know what is wrong with anything, another picture includes pin holes from when I started living there. Pin holes are something, they say is okay, so I have no idea why the heck are they charging me for it. Also, I had reported them when I moved in as well. I am a person who lives very clean and I did not even make a single scratch on the walls, there was one scratch from before when I had moved in and I had also reported that when I had moved in, apparently I am being charged for that as well. Finally, I asked them to let the charge go, I'll clean it up myself, to which they responded, "the maintenance has cleaned it already and that's the bill you need to pay". I lived on 15th floor and the elevator were broken many times for days, very inconvenient. This is a pathetic place to live, all because of the management. Do not waste your money here. I am paying 475$ in total as move out fees, even though I did nothing at all, and was ready to clean everything myself. read more

I love this building. The shops and restaurants are great. I get coffee and pastries at The French Bakery at least once a week. The amenities are really unique like a fire wall on the clubhouse deck and a training gym. The office staff is super helpful too. read more

We lived there for a year. Do NOT rent a house from this company! All they want to do is to rip you off. 1) They raised the rent ~150$ for us and after we moved out, they advertised it with ~40$ increase. 2) Extremely arrogant and bad management! - While moving in to the condo, we have indicated in our move in inspection that the house is not clean. - While moving out of the condo, we cleaned it in and out for an hour and they charged us 175$ cleaning fee since it is a "standard procedure". - Management folks didn't listen at all! 3) Air conditioning is SO noisy that it wakes you up! 4) All the appliances are old! 5) You pay around 150$ water/sewer/garbage for 1 bedroom apartment and it has even 5$ service pee every month. I have lived in downtown Bellevue for over 7 years now and have lived in lots of different apartments but the Elements is by far the best! The resident amenities go above and beyond with two full gyms, pool, and free Fire Fitness classes. There is also covered barbquer, and free espresso or coffee in the lounges. The best part about the Elements, other than the amazing apartments, is the staff! Super helpful and responsive! This place is great! I lived here for a summer before moving out of state. I continue to go back to visit friends and family in the complex. The management is great and really accommodating. The location in Bellevue is perfect - across the way from Whole Foods and walking distance to a number of restaurants, stores, and the mall. There's a delicious French bakery on the first floor and a number other restaurants in the building as well. Their gym is a unique amenity. It has much more space and much better equipment than your standard apartment complex gym. There is also a fitness staff on site that offers small group training, personal training, and boot camps at a discounted rate to residents. They also have a great pool and a large lounge area. The complex is well kept and fairly peaceful and quiet. The residents are friendly and pleasant. If you're planning to move to the Bellevue area, do yourself a favor and check this place out. read more

Tl;dr - decent building, pricy and they'll rip you off at the end. Update: many of my friends still live there and I recently went back to visit and was hanging out in the area... it feels much more lively now that the businesses moved in. Probably my review was too harsh, I'll put one star back on. Original review: Lived in 958 & 989 building for a total of about 2.5 years. Pros: * amenities, if you use them (e.g. gym, pool, etc.). I did for some time but then went to a different gym so it was kind of moot. * Sound isolation from other apartments is good. * Staff is generally nice or neutral, depending on person, I didn't have any problems so cannot really tell. * I could walk to work which was an advantage for me :) Cons are * price; they charge separately for parking unless you get a deal iirc, and utilities are ridiculous, usually $100+ and up to $130 for 1 person in 1br. * constant noise from the highway, I was on 22nd and 20th floor, facing South and then North, so I imagine if you face the highway or live lower it's even worse. * location - it's kind of off dt Bellevue so walking to places, both downtown and Whole Foods/Uwajimaya is tedious. So you're stone's throw away but you still have to drive/bike. Finally, I was moving out to California for a new job, flying on weekend, so they told me if the unit is in good state I don't have to do inspection, they will take care of it. In 3 weeks, TADA! They found some small spot somewhere, and charged me for full carpet replacement, approx $600 in addition to usual cleaning and paint touch-up (which I don't mind). Very convenient since it's not like I'm going to fly back there to argue it, and they probably replaced it already anyway. Make sure when you move out you take pictures of everything and don't trust them. read more

THE WORST APARTMENTS EVER. $2000 for a 600 sq foot 1 bed one bath? No thanks. These are not luxury apartments. These apartments are a joke! Firstly, the personal trainers here are SCAMS. DO NOT go to them! They steal your money and waste your time! the walls are paper thin. You can hear literally everything that's happening with all your neighbors, even when they turn on a faucet or flush the toilet. I absolutely hate it here, I wish I would've done better research before moving in. I've had terrible neighbors... Dirty, loud, rude. I'm disgusted at this place. Ugh. I've had it!!!! Nice apartment, amenity, and friendly front desk staff (Arnold, Catherine, and Sonaly)

I stayed in Elements 989 for 2 years before moving out. While I have heard better reviews about the other 2 buildings, 958 and 909, staying here was a nightmare. Issues below: 1. Extremely expensive: The apartments are extremely pricey and will keep increasing by $150+ on every renewal. In addition, the water sewer garbage is more than anywhere else. I used to pay ~ $150 for a 1 bed apt with my wife. The thing is they charge for various collective resources like the gym/other amenities, so its more than what you use. Plus they have a weird system of billing which is extremely confusing, they will first bill you for what they approximate you used, and then show charges for what you used later. The online billing system is a mess, and this is coming from a guy that has a Masters in Engineering. 2. Parking: If you come in late night, weekdays or weekends, good luck with your parking. There is a "find your spot" parking available which irritated a lot of residents. So they force you into reserving a spot based on $100/month. Most time at late night, you will not find a spot in 989 and will have to park under 958/909 elements. 3. Maintenance/Management: Awful to say the least. I stay in the so called "Luxury" apartment and had atleast 15-20 AC repair requests. It broke down every few months, so it couldnt heat in the winters and couldn't cool in the summers. Inspite of repeated notifications, it only took 2 years for the AC issue to be found and stabilized in my apartment. On an occasion when my bathroom was locked out, the management realized they had the wrong emergency number listed on the website, and the emergency maintenance guy didnt reach out untill the next morning. Basically they dnt care, because they know if you leave, someone else will come over. 4. Elevator: Be ready for only 1 elevator to be working most of the time in 989 and when it does it is extremely noisy. 5. AC extremely noisy- only when it works. 6. Move out charges: If you indeed end up staying here, be careful of the move out charges. Like a lot of other reviews state, they overcharge you, so if you arent detail oriented, they will try their max to get as much money as they can, out of you. I was charged for keys/clickers that I had already returned to the front desk, and then some ghost charges added to my cleaning as well. Positives are the amazing view and facilities both inside and outside the apartment, the proximity to bellevue mall etc. In short, if you have loads of money, dnt care about increasing or hidden charges and can do with a sub- standard management in a luxury apartment, go for the view in these apartments. read more

This is probably one of the best apartment homes in Bellevue:) It is close to everything you could need or want. The staff is friendly and helpful and the apartments are well priced for the area. My son loves the common area, he plays pool and watches movies there with a couple of his friends in the building. Maintenance issues are always taken care of very quickly. And, they have TWO gyms!! I love this complex, it's community and the UDR staff that serve it. I planned on only living here for a year and then purchasing again( I just sold my home ). Since I have changed my mind. I love it so much I think I will continue to rent and my purchase will become a rental. I can't match the amenities, service and cost of rent verses that of a mortgage for the quality of living space I desire with that of the Elements. Where else in Bellevue can you live that provides access to (3) gyms, (1) indoor pool, restaurants, underground parking, on-sight mini-mart, concierge, a HUGE business center, walking distance to Bellevue Square and the Braven. I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a deck for under $2800.00. I feel like I am on vacation everyday. read more

Package delivery is a hassle almost every single time! They refuse to double check and blame the courier service which has caused me a lot of trouble. And this did not happen just once! If you move here be prepared to pay an additional $100 to $200 a month for whatever they tell you the initial rent + parking is. Management staff is unprofessional and unresponsive and they treat their tenants as money bags. We've been here for almost 8 months now and almost every month we discovered a new hidden fee, or got a check in the mail for something that they failed to disclose. Recently we transferred the lease and while initially we were told that it is a $500 transfer fee, we paid $750. The $750 transfer fee does not cover anything, it's just a fee charged for the convenience of transferring a lease. Also, two weeks after the move another charge of $200 for moving fees appeared on our account. The way these fees where charged left us feeling ripped off. I can only hope that market pressures will eventually convince the management of this property that is not the way treat their customers, especially when they claim to provide a 'luxury' service. read more

I love living at Elements! I have been here for a year and can't say enough good things about it. First of all, the concierge staff is amazing!!! Sonaly is the best!!! She is customer focused, top notch, super helpful, and always has a smile on her face. An update to my previous review. We were finally able to make an appointment to tour the building... We actually thought it was quite nice. We were shown two units - one with a den that actually had a GREAT view and was not insanely overpriced. The amenities were nice, though we didn't see all of them. We saw the main gym that's kind of off the main atrium. We were told there was another one in the other building we were at, but it was the same so no need to see it. Uhh.. we actually did want to see it. But, thanks for telling us it exists at least? I still can't give the review anything higher than two stars, and that was due to the guy showing us around just giving off that feeling that we were wasting his time. He was a nice guy, so I can't say he was a jerk, but he made no effort to sell us on this place. No small talk, no friendly chatter while going up 20 stories in an elevator. Just a "Here's this unit. Here's the pool. Ok, thanks for stopping by.' I have no use to be coddled by someone, but a little effort in actually presenting the place like it would be worth it to live there would go a long way. We ended up moving into a place in Redmond that, while the place itself is awesome, was helped by the fact that the entire leasing staff was genuinely excited to show you however many apartments you wanted to see, the amenities as many times as you wanted, and knew more about you than your own mother by the time you left. It's a shame that the leasing staff here just don't get it, because it is a really nice place with some really great features, but they are relying on the luxury aspect of it and expecting it to just sell itself way too much. read more

Love love love Elements. Best location in downtown Bellevue. Fantastic customer service, top notch amenities. I work out in the 2 gyms multiple times a week with the on site personal trainers. The whole set up is awesome and super convenient. I even occasionally use the pool. Love having the restaurants right on the property and the convenience store is super convenient for a quick bite or some wine and snacks. Really close to bus line, transit center, freeways and the hospital. read more

My fiance have lived here for a while now in the 909 building. When we moved in, the process was really smooth and Nevin, the leasing manager handled everything for us. She is seriously the most wonderful leasing manager that a person could work with. We automatically felt like her kids, and she wanted to ensure we had the best experience possible. She had the freight elevator blocked off for us on the day of our move so that we didn't have to use the residential elevators and get stopped while we were moving. If there is an issue it gets fixed right away for us... but there aren't really issues often in the community, only one of the elevators giving issues randomly (but infrequently). If you want to go tanning, Nancy will even heat up the bed so that it isn't cold when you get in. The gym is really nicely well-kept and it's very easy to pick up packages. There is an online community forum that notifies you of what is happening in the building and in Bellevue, and you get an email when a new package arrives. Elements is also constantly updating their building so that it is really new-age and welcoming. The theatre remodel looks fantastic. I saw a comment about the pool being too cold, but my nephew swims in it all of the time with his friend with no complaints. When my fiance's mom came into town she swam in the pool each day and loved it. When my inlaws came into town they rented the furnished units for a few days, and it was really affordable and nice! I couldn't believe that they had this as an option, a pleasant surprise. We've renewed our lease twice, and it's not the cheapest place to live. But it's not the most expensive in downtown Bellevue either, and it seems to be less pricey than some of the other buildings around (which don't offer near the features Elements has). Overall, we love it here. I can go to yoga if I want, the gym is awesome, the Barre studio is in the building, there are restaurants, hair dressers, a mini-mart, what more can you ask for? If they could just put a grocery store in the building you wouldn't have to leave. The Chihuly glass artwork is incredible, and I feel thankful I live in such a great place. I've rented at 3 other places in Bellevue that can't even come close to comparing how much I love it here. James is very nice and Nancy is really awesome... very personable and just cool. Wes was very accommodating with our renewal. Nevin again is amazing, so I do suggest requesting to speak with her for an A++ experience. Normally apartments are nightmares to deal with, and Elements honestly isn't. They even send you a reminder to pay your rent, a personal courtesy email if it's the 2nd or 3rd of the month. I have had two main terrible experiences, and 11 more bad ones... The worst part about Elements is the management. I swear they are trying to run the company into the ground. If corporate would ever pull their heads out and realize that they are not filling with the right type of people they might have a shot at saving the image. Everyone I know now sees Elements as low class. 1) I rented a penthouse and they moved in four 18 year old kids next door who smoked pot and partied all night every night. It was months before I got sleep and they were evicted. Elements care more about filling the apartment than who fills it. You pay a lot of money to have nice neighbors that are good for your kids and they DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU ONCE YOU SIGN! 2) I recently put apartment on hold and filled out application, so apartment should have been mine. I have a learning disability that makes it slow for me to fill out forms. They said someone came in after me and filled out a form faster than me so they got the apartment. Discrimination! It would be no different than giving a key to a guy in a wheel chair and another key to a non-disabled man and telling them that whomever gets to the apartment first gets to rent it. 3) You don't see as much at the penthouse level but the hallways are dirty. 4) The coffee machine is always out. 5) They rent the gym out to a bunch of guys that take over the entire gym all day training large groups of people, and the gym is small. 6) The pool is too cold to swim unless you are a cold lake swimmer. 7) You will get a ticket if you park in a space nobody EVER uses because the spot that you pay for are all full. 8) They rent out the parking to street people and shops. 9) They will not tell you if you have a package. 10) Management are a bunch of inexperienced youth, that constantly make mistakes and never make it right. 11) I have had eviction notices posted on my door in error. 12) I have been billed twice for rent, and then had to wait weeks for a check. 13) They charge you hundreds of dollars in fees to move out. Its not in the lease, so don't even look. They charge 400 to paint if you lived less than 2 years, and the list goes on and on. I have gotten every damage deposit returned in full for the last 20 years. Not only did I not get back my damage, but they charged me an extra 500 and threatened to make it so that I would not be able to rent if I did not pay. Best potential for apartments with the worst possible people running it. I am a business owner, an inventor, and a 10 year Microsoft vet. I know how to be objective and how to give a business review. The questions is...WHY THE HECK IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT IT? Hire a cleaner to go in and fire everyone and start over with a new image. Once you get to the point where things are now, it can't be fixed by working with a few employees or a new manager. read more

My husband has been DOD for over 6 years and the last few have been in Bellevue. My family lives in MT because of our children's schooling and my husband has been in Bellevue; living at the Elements 989 for the past 5 years. It is competitively priced and centrally located in the downtown Bellevue area. People to contact... Nevin - amazing at finding a lease in your price range at the space you need at the time you need it - has invited us for brunch and enjoyed a beverage with us at Scotty Brown's [a great bar and grill attached to the elements building] Juan - a maintenance gem; what you need- when you need it... with a smile and polite demeanor. He is amazing at being the 'go-to' guy and making things happen.... he makes you happy just because he smiles and truly cares about your comfort in "his building"... Yes... "HIS BUILDING'...and James - in the front leasing office. Friendly, make it happen and then some kind of personality. He checks up to make sure our experience is positive.. and because his roots are from the South... loves pecan pie. What other apt complex can boast that level of personalization and care If I am not here in Bellevue to help my husband feel like he has family, in WA... this complex has employees that do. I love coming here and meeting his friends and adopted family. Please know there is not any complex or rental that is perfect... but the people employed at the Element make a large complex feel like a home... a connection of people who care about one another on a level that is not just a 'job' or 'rental income'. My experience from the initial contact to moving in was so easy and smooth. The leasing manager, Wes Miller, was my point of contact and he was very professional and honest and personable. The building design is a bit edgy and strange, but the interior decor is contemporary and modern, very clean and I feel safe living here. The amenities are fabulous. My husband and I enjoy working out everyday in the gym that overlooks the city. They have a small yoga studio and a huge pool with a view. I'm a sucker for nice views. The rent is pretty fair, it's comparable to So Cal. for a 2 bedroom. My favorite part about living at the Elements is the great customer service and the convenient retail stores on the 1st floor. The concierge does everything you request them to do. I usually work with Nancy and James, and they always go above and beyond their duties. I'm happy to say I'll be renewing my lease here for another 12 months. Thank you Team Elements! read more

I have lived in the Elements for nearly 4 years now and have enjoyed my time thoroughly. The prime location, impeccably well maintained (and recently updated!) amenities and warm fitness community (check out Fire Fitness), all make this a great place to call home. With such a great staff (Erin, Nancy and James are all wonderful to work with), it can be hard to stand out but Wes Miller (Assistant Community Director) really does manage to go above and beyond. He is consistently solution oriented, empathetic, and most importantly, service focused. Lived here temporarily when I moved back to Seattle. I now live elsewhere, and I have mixed feelings about the building. It's pet friendly which is great. However, they've recently opened up a few businesses in the bldg. The deli and Asian Bistro are nice places. I havent been to the bar, but I driven by and seen crowds of drunk kids chain smoking which is dissappointing. read more

I saw a bunch of these low reviews, and I'm really not sure what these people are on about. This place may not be "luxury" in the sense that there's exotic animals and people in fur coats walking around, but it's quiet, comfortable, and not expensive (given the location, amenities, and quality of life). The walls are crazy well-insulated (I could never tell if I even had neighbors), the climate system is great (i kept it at a nice 73 year-round, never sweated, never shivered), pretty good view, tons of windows, wired for gigabit internet (check out condointernet, it's incredible), the pool is great and usually empty, the gym is alright, the parking's a little expensive, but I lived here before the price was lowered, so it's not nearly so bad. Amazon locker serves your amazon fresh, the package delivery is nice. Service requests are always done same-day. There are a few car prowlings every now and then, maybe once a year, but i've never been hit. Stone flooring near the kitchen, good carpet everywhere else, good lighting, all the appliances run for years without needing any repair. I'm alright with it. I lived in the 909 apartments, midway up. 2011-2014. It's a great place. read more

Just wanted to give a major shout out to the awesome service Nevin at Elements Apartments gave us! She took care of everything when we wanted to move to Bellevue from Kirkland. Nevin took her time helping us finding the right apartment and we noticed she is that way with ALL of her clients! She goes above and beyond her job description to take care of people's needs throughout the process of finding and getting the apartment we wanted when we needed it.
