Enjoy that sweet, cold air while everything else falls apart. Restaurants nearby, which is great since you'll be spending a lot of time wandering around looking for your DoorDash order. The bad: Garage horror story: Found a shirt with what looked like human feces behind my car days after moving in. Management's reaction? Shrugged it off and blamed a dog that doesn't even live here. A+ security! Apartment design straight from a startup office: Kitchen has a cubicle wall instead of an island. Closets are just a rod. No balcony screen, but sure--pets allowed! What could go wrong? AC vents? Smell like they haven't been cleaned since the building was constructed. Amazon locker roulette: Lockers are down by the dumpster. Classy. Don't be surprised if your package ends up with a neighbor--or in another building entirely. Access system overkill: You'll need three separate systems to live your daily life here. Butterfly app, SmartRent, and a fob--none of which work well together. Android users, prepare to be locked out. Food delivery scavenger hunt: No clear delivery instructions, and couriers can't navigate the Butterfly app. After 10+ times of searching for my food in random buildings or outside, I've accepted that my dinner now lives in the wild. Airbnb-palooza: Strangers coming and going 24/7, no background checks, and enough weed stench in the halls to hotbox the whole floor. Who needs safety or a sense of community, right? Horrible interaction with management, insisting on charging me late fees, and charged me twice, when their online payment system did not process the scheduled payment as it should. The interaction was the worst part as Vinny kept implying that I am lying and their system did not make mistakes as he traced it and could not find the prof that I scheduled the payment. Da!!!! if it was a glitch, the system did not record it... is this too hard for you to understand or figure? Amenities and parking were often disrupted and took incredibly long to be restored. When the lease is up expect to pay a huge new rent unless you'll agree to another year. Vacate procedure was a little too convenient - didn't realize I was trading for the convenience.... A 100% likely to be false invoice for what should be a quick cheap repair. And no one will talk to me about it. They'll give the collection agency strict orders not to discuss it either or negotiate at all with you. Dispute won't work because of the scammy inflated invoice from the contractor they're surely in cahoots with. AND they won't even sue you so you can hash out the dispute fairly! Well I'll continue to fight back because I can. Already have my house and mortgage so I can resist the bully tactics. Feel like I need to for the sake of the next person who may need to give in to the coercion to save their credit. What a totally illegitimate and unprofessional way to approach a simple dispute. Wow. This building is the best option for people who want to get verbally insulted every time they request maintenance and get traumatized enough that you no longer feel comfortable requesting any minor fix for the place you pay rent for. I have been living here for almost 2 years (unfortunately). Everything is fine (callbox and garage gate constantly broken? That's another story...) except when you need some maintenance work... On 11/19/2023 I put a request to fix my washer. The worker came the next day and the first thing he did was not checking what's broken, but angrily yelling at me how come I broke a brand new washer he just replaced. I was confused af cause I'd been using the same washer since I moved in over 1 year ago, and the washer was obviously not "brand new" when I moved in. After he's done yelling he then started questioning me if I don't know how to use the washer. So far he didn't even try to check what's going on with the washer, instead he decided to spend his precious time accusing me and my ability to use a basic washer. He then left without being able to fix the problem. Another nice person came few days later and cleaned up bunch of underwear and socks inside the washer which all don't belong to me () proofing the washer was not as "brand new" as he claimed at all. On 11/04/2024, I put a request for clogged disposal. I live at the lowest floor of this building and sometimes the sewer from upstairs would pile up and cause my sink and toilet to make gurgling sound with some water flooding up (). The same worker who yelled at me last time came again the next day. He was able to remove a small piece of plastic from my disposal and thought the clog would get fixed and left without testing. The next day, however, I realized the sink is still clogged so I put a request again. The same person came again and again yelled at me "This is the SECOND time ma'am! I told you not to put large things into the disposal! I just fixed it and you broke it again!" I tried to explain it's not fixed the previous day he came, but I guess he never tried to listen to me cause he just kept blaming me. I always use the disposal pretty carefully and never flush large amount of food not mentioning bones so I think the clog came from upstairs (sometimes the waste water flood randomly even when I'm just sitting at my desk far from the kitchen‍). But whatever the fact is I just gave up communicating with this person since he won't listen at all. They called a vendor outside who fixed the problem nicely the next day. After this two things I feel absolutely traumatized and uncomfortable to ever put any maintenance request, knowing it's possible I'm going to meet the same person and being accused, questioned and scolded loudly at my own apartment. It's definitely a super uneasy feeling as being a woman living alone to get yelled at by a guy much taller and stronger than you, with bunch of maintenance tools with him. For everyone's health- please avoid this apartment. My son got sick same time as my mom who was visiting. They both developed asthma. This apartment has water leak issue severely. Thus, mold issue comes with it. For young kids and elders who are vulnerable, they have high chance to get sick. We left this March. My son is still suffering from asthma. Of course- it is hard to prove that the asthma is caused by the mold. But for please for sake of caring for your loved one's health- please please avoid this place. I can even attach the conversation with the leasing department regarding mold issue. The kitchen had Wood top. I noticed that wood was expanded. I found out black and white molds were inside of those expanded wood. But it was too late. My mom and my som got sick. My mom recovered shortly after she left my place but for my 2.5 year old at that time still couldn't recover. And I will post this to all rating site in a hope that they will take care of this matter urgently. And for everyone's knowledge, they legally have to take care of this as soon as possible. Now that I've moved out, I feel it's time to update with a less visceral review: Elements is an ok community if you're willing to pay for the location and the view, since that's the majority of what you get for the high rent. I had been burned by their old door lock system, which would lock you out for walking out your door without your FOB with no way to get back in without paying $250 (!!!). This was obviously predatory and unacceptable, and eventually they installed new locks with a passcode, which is MUCH better. Now you actually have to leave the building to get locked out. Also no move-out nightmares, gotta tip the hat on that one. Got more back than I expected. Overall, I'd say that the quality of apartment interior does not match up to the rent. Fixtures, planking, etc are pretty cheap, though some units were being remodeled on my way out. but it's hard to beat the view and location in downtown Bellevue. If those criteria are worth it to you, go for it. read more

The resident text line is a fantastic way to get help, especially when the social distancing protocols. Nothing is ever perfect in an apartment but the welcoming nature and get things done attitude makes this the best leasing experience I've had. Lived here for a month through corporate housing. The pro first: amazing views if you are on higher floors. Great amenities in every building. Cons: It looks like the property ran out of money to spend on the insides of apartments - everything is on the cheap side. Starting with kitchen - cheap cabinets, exposed electric stove, loudest dishwasher in my lifetime, the floor to ceiling windows are operated by your cheapest manual vertical blinds. Bedroom - a third of it is unusable due to the structural pole. Bathroom - very loud washer and dryer, cheap limited shelving. You can hear your neighbors using the bathroom. Garage gate is often broken. Location: it's a walk to downtown area, and the restaurants in immediate proximity are very limited and not quite good. read more

I lived in Elements 909 for 2 years before buying a place and I was throughly impressed. For signing the lease, to the move in inspection and getting furniture delivered the team at elements was very helpful from the beginning especially Nevin. While living there, they implemented the wireless fobs added, more mail pick up spots and they always worked to communicate all of these changes. Whenever I had maintenance requested they promptly addressed them and left notes for me to know when they'd be in the apartment. My boyfriend and friends would come to visit and getting guest parking passes for them was fairly easy. I really liked the fact that they had multiple gyms and a pool as well. In regards to security, there - there were a few issues with car break ins. The check out process was seamless and they were very reasonable - no hidden fees or crazy issues. read more

If you live here please be ready to experience random text messages from management. Or early morning phone calls asking you to do things such as move your car or it will get towed even though you parked in the right place and management did not look carefully before contacting you. If you care about your safety, do not live here!! If I could give zero stars I would. I've had many, many issues with this apartment and it is the worst place I have ever lived. 1. The parking garage gates were broken for over 6 months and they are too cheap to get it fixed quickly. It's still not fixed and I just moved out. Several cars have been broken into. I see people with shattered windows every day. My car's window was shattered too. My boyfriend's car was also broken into. We pay around $200 for parking every month but there's no safety or security, it's basically public parking at this point, they don't even care if there are cars there that don't have the apartment building's parking pass. I saw several cars there that didn't have the parking sticker and weird creepy people that would follow you around in their car or try to talk to you/catcall. There were several times where I felt unsafe stepping out of my car here even past the gates. People can get past the gates very easily. 2.Apartments get broken into as well. Some of my neighbors had to install cameras on their front doors. The front door keypad is really bad. It's supposed to auto-lock and it never does. It often breaks or loses battery and for a while I was having a problem with my apartment where it would unlock on its own. It was really scary being woken up in the middle of the night to the door unlocking by itself and having to rush over to see if someone was trying to break in or something. This happened several times and I would come home to my apartment unlocked sometimes even though I locked it in the morning before leaving for work. I asked for them to fix it but they didn't. 3.You can hear EVERYTHING the neighbors do. and if they cook something, the smell goes throughout the whole hallway and into your apartment. Also, the entire hallway always smells like trash/sewage. The trash rooms at the end of each hall smell absolutely terrible and are never taken care of. People pile trash in it even though they're supposed to throw it down the chute but no one ever maintains the floors or building in general. All of it smells bad. In the whole year that I was there, they only cleaned the flooring in the hallways once. They left it wet and it got all moldy and they never fixed that. The washer and dryer for the laundry are absolute garbage and make your clothes smell like mold. Even cleaning it out doesn't change that it's just terrible 4.The amenities are always dirty and never maintained either. 5.My whole floor had a moth problem. There were small grey moths in the hallways as well as my apartment itself. There was a really large amount of them, especially during the winter. 6. I had maintenance come to my apartment a couple times and they made me extremely uncomfortable. There was one instance where they were fixing my sink in the kitchen and I was waiting in my room, doing some work, but they kept coming to my room, trying to look in, trying to talk to me, asking me personal questions, and complimenting my appearance. They were there extremely long, from 10 to 3 am but it felt like they were staying really long for no reason. They had to call some plumbers over and the plumbers were great and finished the job quickly, but the actual maintenance team was a problem and could not do the job. 7.There was a ridiculous amount of dog poop and cigarettes and other trash surround the apartment itself, especially around the parking garage. It smelled horrible and they never cleaned it. 8.It's a ridiculous price for what it is. I know the view is great and you're there for the downtown experience but please don't live here. The apartment itself has a lot of things wrong with it, things would go wrong every week. 9.Moving out is the worst here. They randomly charged me over $1000 dollars and won't tell me the reason. They'll charge you a lot of random fees and it's not in the lease or any agreement. 10.There's no way to speak to anyone or talk to staff besides text where they'll talk to you with automated/scripted responses that don't help anything read more

I really liked living at the 989 building and even thought about coming back next year,I even at some point left a 5 start review on their Yelp page. (I had to move from Bellevue to Kirkland at the end of my lease) I rented a 2BD apartment for about $2600 in the 989Building. My lease is ending June 6 and they want to charge me a pro rated rent for almost $1500 for only 6 days. What a scam! they completely forgot people lost their jobs during this pandemic! They are saying that this charge is a result of me not telling them that I am leaving at least 20 days in advance. I didn't know it's nesasry, I mean my ended, so if you guy don't hear from why don't you just assume I am living? Why don't you guys call and ask me? No one from the office ever gave us a call to ask us for our future plan. I tried to call the office at least 3 times to kindly let them know we are living and no one ever picked up the phone. I hold a credit score of 800+ and never ever Default on a payment. But if they will charge me $1500 for 6 days of staying I will not pay it and I will review this building with as many platforms as possible. read more

Now they're trying to use the big company trick to charge us extra rent even though we gave them 2 months notice in advance and they found a new tenant after a week +$1000 rent. The self guided apartment tours were nice. It was a bit confusing navigating the multiple buildings without a guide, but overall I still prefer self-guided since it lets you go at your own pace and there's no awkward silence waiting in the elevator. Arnold and Shelby did a wonderful job informing me on pricing and availability, and Addison went above and beyond to make corrections to the website with photos for the unit I couldn't tour in-person. read more

My family and I love living in this property. We just moved in last December 2020 and our experience is nothing but positive ones. The Leasing Office staff are totally awesome. The property is well kept, except for certain areas - which aren't management's fault. It takes both including Residents to do their part in order for our "Home" to look clean. We sent in a repair request for a leaking kitchen sink last night and they fixed it the following day

I just rented an apartment to work part time in Bellevue WA. I currently live in Nashville. The team at elements has went above and beyond to make my move seamless. I ordered all my furniture and household items online to completely furnish a one bedroom apartment. the deliveries have been fast and furious. normally I would need to be onsite to accept the deliveries but this wasn't possible with my schedule and the holidays. The staff has been kind enough to accept and transport all my deliveries to my 20th floor apartment. as you can imagine Amazon and fedex have left large packages occasionally not in the right areas and the staff has had to go on a hunt for them. so far everything has been located and safely tucked away in my apartment. I can't say enough good things about their communications and effort to asset in my move. if your looking for an apartment with a staff that cares Elements is a great choice. Honestly whatever you do, don't live at Elements apartments. You can save your money and find a place that's less expensive and have better amenities. I recently just moved to Bellevue and was super excited to live at Elements. Issue 1: There was water leaking from my neighbor aboves apartment into my kitchen. The water was leaking from the wall and my floor was soaked. It was absolutely disgusting. Not only did that happen but there were large dust particles floating into my roommates room and she was breathing that in causing her to cough up black mucus. Issue 2: My roommate got stuck on the elevator in building 989. The amount of money we pay is crazy and for this to happen is just trifling. The elevator dropped when she was on it and she called the emergency contact they told her it would be an hour wait . Elements is "very pretty" but it's not worth the hassle. Do more research in Bellevue apartments and you will find other options. read more

I have been living here for about 1.5 years. Nothing but issues since day 1. The apartment was not clean when I moved in and the balcony was filthy. I met the maintenance guy at Day 2 and he ordered cleaning people to come in which took care of the issue. Now that I am breaking my lease to move out, they're charging me $225 cleaning fee. I told them I can clean the apt myself and Arnold said that I'll need to show proof that a licensed professional cleaner clean my apt at move out or pay them the fee. I don't trust that my cleaning fee will be used to clean my unit when I move out. Also, this is funny to me because our hallway doesn't even get vacuumed much at all. If anything, it's vacuumed once a month. Addison is apparently the new manager. I understand that I have to pay 2 months base rent to break my lease. However, they are also charging me 2 months worth of parking fee ($155/month so that's $310 total). When I returned my company car last summer I was able to get my parking fee removed because duh, I no longer have the company car and no longer needed parking. A couple of months later, I ended up buying my own car so I got parking again. Now that I'm breaking my lease and obviously will no longer need the parking space, Addison told me (in a very mean way) that there is no way she can remove the fee and I am still liable to pay 2 months worth of parking after I move out. February 6, water was gushing from the 10th floor down to my floor, which is the 9th floor (I'll post video if Yelp would allow) at 909 building. The water gushing lasted for close to 45 minutes. They ran 5 fans for 7 days in the hallway because they were too cheap to replace the damaged carpet. If you move in on the 9th floor, expect future molds. My unit was not flooded. However, March 4th loud pounding and construction started at 8am above me from that flooding. I work from home and had back-to-back meetings that day. I texted the leasing office and they didn't care to respond until almost 2 hours later. I went up to the 10th floor and asked the guy to stop as I am working and he was being loud. I sent a video via text to leasing since construction guy didn't care to stop and the loud pounding continued. This went on for 2 hours! Management failed to notify me in advanced regarding this construction. This greatly affected my webex presentation for work meeting I had that consisted of 25 attendees. I'm so glad I was able to buy a home in this crazy real estate market and finally moving out of this hellacious building. I highly do not recommend this apartment. There's so much more issues I would share but the list is too long. read more

Great amenities, friendly leasing office, efficient mailroom and unforgettable views. The road noise is the biggest detractor, which adds to the rumble from the central air and neighbors doors. In a secure building, but has theft issues in the storage lockers. Luckily police station is nearby, which adds to the road noise. read more

I lived at Elements for two years, first year was in a one bedroom on the 8th floor, second year was in a penthouse on the 26th floor. Pros: -Location, location, location - you can walk to a dog park only a couple blocks away, a library, great restaurants, coffee, donuts, and if you feel like at 15 minute walk, you can get to the mall. -Front desk crew is very nice -If you're in an east facing unit, go higher if you can, because the views are amazing! -A couple months before I moved, they upgraded to digital locks and smart home app (you can control lights and opening the door through your phone), if that's your thing. - the bathtub in the master bedroom of the penthouse is what spa dreams are made of. You got time for the cons? :) -When you move in, read the contract, read it, and then read it again and make sure your numbers match. I can't tell you how much back and forth there was in the beginning about just getting the monthly rent, parking and concessions right. -The quality of the apartments is questionable. I had a gigantic spot of white paint on the ceiling in the freaking penthouse. Like someone got tired and was like "Ef it, it's the ceiling, who cares?". Um I care, when it's a random white blob of paint and the first thing you see when you walk in. Same for the blinds which were all different lengths and the time one fell off and maintenance "fixed it" with a zip tie. Or that time my toilet overflowed and I was told it was the toilet paper causing issues. Or all the randomly aligned outlets all across the penthouse, as in crooked, like someone was just trying to wrap it up. There was an outlet that looked like someone gave it a haircut to try to squeeze it in and well.. that didn't work. Or the sink that was partially installed where the sink head would move every which way when you turned it on. -omg the plumbing. The water. So the toilet is sensitive regardless of the size of the apartment, but the water pressure is definitely in the penthouse. But don't crank it up too hot, because if you do, the whole wall will start shaking and you may pray for your life hoping a tsunami doesn't start bursting out of this shower. -Have I mentioned the not so quietness of the place overall? To be fair, it's mostly quiet, unless you have neighbors who: like to party on weekends with their bass turned up until midnight, like to get into loud arguments, sometimes, until midnight, have children who like to bang things against the wall that happens to be where your head lays, this may also happen until midnight (there is a pattern here). You may get lucky instead and have neighbors who like to dry all the zippers in the world at 7am on a Sunday, and you get a front row seat. Look the place is fancy and has good people working there. Everyone's experience is different, I just recapped the highlights of my last two years. I did get through a pandemic here, felt safe, and just far enough from everything that happened downtown Bellevue. read more

Avoid at all costs. Don't let the amenities sway you. The fire alarms go off at random intervals with no explanation from hostile staff. They go off in the early hours of the morning, regardless of the day of week. We would sit in our car at 4 am in the parking garage, trying to calm our pets down, and wait for the alarm to turn off. The fire alarms would sometimes go on for longer than an hour at 2 in the morning. Their concierge is terrible. Terrible service, incompetent people, always a different face. Rent also went up by $150, with no explanation whatsoever. The parking garage door is always broken, and cars are constantly being robbed or keyed. The Elements management have done nothing to make the parking garage a safer place. There is a no smoking policy, yet there have been many groups of people smoking marijuana and cigarettes on the residential floor parking garages, leaving still-smoking butts in garbage cans! Can you say fire hazard? The garbage rooms on the residential floors are also always overflowing with garbage, because the tenants that live there don't throw the garbage down the chute! They just leave the bag there, outside by the door, or right next to the chute! Ridiculous! So some floors actually smell like garbage. No joke. AVOID living here. #regrets read more

I mainly want to warn potential residents that if you own an electric vehicle or think that you may buy one in the future, do not consider living at Elements. There is no place to reliably charger here, and no plans to install EV charging capability in the future. Other UDR properties do have EV charging, but it is clear that UDR doesn't want to invest any money into modernizing Elements, as is also evident by the 15-year-old appliances in the units. Maintenance has historically been terrible at fixing even simple issues, but that seems to be improving lately. Positives: the location is great, the common areas are beautiful, the gyms are nice. Overall, a decent place to live as long as you drive a combustion engine vehicle and are okay with old, energy-guzzling appliances. read more

I had issues with noise from people playing video games late at night and the bass noise coming through the walls, my apartment smelled of marijuana almost every day for months... coming through the vents, I was charged for cleaning fees $195 after I moved out even though I deep cleaned it (wet vac the small carpet area, steam mopped the floors, cleaned the windows, deep cleaned the fridge and oven, etc) and all of this was ON TOP of the $500 non-refundable pet deposit I paid and was taken from my $400 move in deposit. Skip this place as they are clearly only in the business to make money, not take care of their residents. Much better newer apartments in Bellevue. Also, when all the amenities where shut down for 5 months during Covid there was zero adjustment in the rent and they didn't work with me even for the 3 months I couldn't work. read more

989 Elements is a very expensive but very attractive apartment tower on the north end of downtown Bellevue. The facilities and units are very modern and well constructed. The units (at least mine) is extremely small but I was willing the make the sacrifice to be within walking distance of downtown Bellevue and have a great view of surrounding area. Rents range from $1000 (400 sf studio) to $4000 (2 bedroom penthouse). Management is very nice and the concierge treats you with respect, offering to help however they can. They have a decent exercise room with a wide variety of equipment, and they have a great clubroom with pool table, flat screen TVs and free wireless internet. There is a theater which they show movies three times a week, and I hear they have a roof-top garden but you only get access if you rent a penthouse, thus I have never seen it. Parking is extra ($100/mo) but it gets you a large stall in the garage, although the garage itself has many blind corners. My stall is on the bottom floor of the garage and takes me about 5 minutes driving in circles to get to it. But it is a very secure garage and I never worry about break-ins. While I haven't been a resident for very long, I have never heard (or even seen for that matter) my neighbors, and haven't had a single negative experience once you get over the high price and the small size, but certainly acceptable for downtown living! 989 Elements serves all my needs having just graduated from college and beginning my career. Renter beware!!! Elevators, key fobs and buzzers never work for anything. I've been here almost 2 years and maybe 2 solid months if you piece together the working days they have actually worked. Every time I have a guest I have to ride the elevator down and retrieve them because the only buzzer that works is on p-1 if your lucky. The main floor buzzer has never worked since I moved in and neither does p-2 usually take 15-20 min up and down as only 1 of the two elevators for 27 floors ever works, at least I get a good leg workout on the stairs trying to skip the elevator traffic I guess. Parking info is inaccurate, when we first moved in they said unassigned parking was okay on p-2 with the $100 parking pass and assigned p-3 a p-5. That's a lot of driving through a ton of huge speed bumps (5 I think) any time you come or go and if you skip some speeds bumps and forget your car on p-2 you get a $60 ticket. I've probably had over 50 of them in 2 years and every guest I've ever had got a parking ticket also. They refuse to give any extra key fobs which is very inconvenient considering that the buzzers do not work. We are moving to the Bravern across the street, they provide 1 extra key fob there which is nice The staff is pretty nice except upper management and Dwayne the "concierge" he is the worst - always nit picking every little thing and trying to figure out how he can say no when you have a request. He's very condescending and will even butt in to try and override or say no when other staff members try to help with a request. We don't like him I'm pretty sure me and my girlfriend got discriminated against, either for being young or an interracial couple.. After over a year in a mid level 2 bed, a penthouse came available and we where excited to upgrade, they approved the application on a Friday we did the walk through Saturday and prepared to move in. When Monday came around we got an email that said the upper management changed their mind and we were denied based on some violation. When we went to talk to staff the "violation" was completely ridiculous, total internal errors on their part. We tried to argue but what can you do when your being discriminated against? We filed a compliant with HUD so hopefully they get investigated. Considering that we pay more to rent here than a mortgage on a 1/2 million dollar house you would expect better customer service. Elements is a wonderful place to live. It feels like being on vacation. Everyone is friendly the staff is friendly. They have amazing amenities. In addition to the amenities and the great modern home with a great view, there are also wonderful restaurants nearby. We had a wonderful happy hour for five people for $71 at Cielo Cocina Mexicana just down stairs. The French bakery is also wonderful. Parking is also plentiful. It's amazing to have a downtown Bellevue apartment where there are spaces for friends to come and visit. read more

Beware! CONS: 1). Cameras around the buildings don't work or are possibly fakes so I've heard through the grapevine. That means if you have a car that you like to stay in a nice condition, and it gets hit by another resident in the garage and they don't leave a note... there is NO proof to show insurance companies that You didn't do it yourself, and elements won't help you. Poor guy at our complex is going through that right now, and it's impossible that he's the first. 2). If you order things online and they are not envelope sized, you will have to pay an EXTRA monthly fee in order to receive your mail. And it's not cheap. If not it will be sent back and you won't get your mail.... 3). Regularly you will find; spilt coffee, dog urine, or trash in the elevators. 4). Things break often! Heating systems, AC system, bathroom fan I mean it's been none stop. Always something. 5). The Dryers here have burnt holes in my clothing, and my boyfriends clothing. We had wash all of our delicate pieces thankfully, so Im talking your favorite trusty t-shirt, yoga pants, shorts looks like you took a cigarette to it. RIP favorite shirt, shorts and pants :( 6). Be prepared for maintenance to walk in your home... at anytime... even if you put your phone number on the request. Even if you specify for them to call you, multiple times before, it won't happen. *Pro tip: lock your door when you shower haha and don't forget your towel 7). Appliances are super old, like the old style electric coil stove, and a refrigerator I feel like I remember when I was 10 yeas old? Now: Review how much your rent is and then look at your stove top. Now regret the choices and actions that ended up with you signing that lease. 8). The community lounge is always out of tea, the furniture is stained or damaged, the pool table sticks have had all of the tops ripped off by residents or their children so good luck chalking an empty plastic tube. And their fireplace is "out of order" during certain months that I feel it's not out of order they just turn it off to save their own money, but lie so you don't get mad. UDR is such a cheap company. 9). Check out UDR on BBB - better business bureau, it's SCARY. 10). The bathroom / lockeroom has some serious plumbing issues it "burps" sewer smell from the shower stall drains. Yum. 11). Flooding in your unit is common. Like real damage. Get insurance. Or maybe just have minimal furniture but make sure nothing rests on the ground? Add stilts. Now you are apart of the circus soleil. But really though, I was a lucky one... but not my neighbors... or their neighbors or other residents in the other buildings (it's not just one of the 3 buildings it's all of them that have issues.) My unit didn't flood but how the building is made there are some miscalculations when it comes to piping - you will discover those horror stories in other comments on Yelp. 12). Elevators have broken many times, leaving one per building. You better hope you don't live high up and have places to go because if you do... get your sweat on going down those stairs! *Pro tip: keep deodorant in your car for those days, you can thank me later. 13). The gate to the garage has been broken many many times. This leaves one gate open or worse, a gate WIDE open so people can break into your car. 14). Apparently car break-ins are normal here? 15). They are now renting out the movie theatres (2 of them in total) to non-residents during front desk hours. So check this out; if you happen to have days off that don't fall on the weekend (sat/sun they don't rent to the public) and you want to watch a movie or have a presentation, you could be blocked from the room. So think about that, you pay how much to stay here and have all these amenities but the general public can just shove ya out. Bad deal.. and really just greedy of UDR. PROS: 1). Nevin is a nice lady. I like Nevin, she is a leasing agent and also a resident. She's a very real, and honest lady. Work with Nevin. 2). Concierge people are always very kind and great conversationalists. Professional people's indeed. Unfortunately if you have questions about things they may just kind of tell you what you want to hear or will try to dismiss problems. But I can't blame them, it's not their fault. We have all been at jobs where if you don't have resources to help people then you scramble to try and fix a problem that you don't have the tool for. So not their fault AT ALL. 3). Close to interstate right out of the garage. UDR needs to step up their game and give their employees proper resources so they can help people, and also care more about quality of living for residences. Not just the money. read more
