Save yourself some trouble. Here are the things to watch out for. I am not sure how their other properties are (ten20, Brio, elements) .. 1. Shtuff keeps breaking all the time (faucet, shower door etc.) 2. No ventilation - We had our kids allergies flare up in the house. We only stayed for three months. One window that opens just a little bit. If you have even mild allergies stay away. 3. SUPER Super NOISY all night unless you are over 15th floor. You wont sleep well. so you better be a sound sleeper. 4. They will charge you exorbitant LATE fees. My last month forgot by a day and prorated rent was $1600. I paid $360 for late fee. Daylight robbery. 5 The business managers are super rude, hope you never have to deal with one. 6. Parking is expensive and will give you tickets even if you park for five min while you pick up something. It is frustrating. Good luck if you still decide to go with them. I am glad I only needed it for three months, it was unbearable for us but we did not have a choice. wecare@UDR , Please do not bother responding to this with some corporate language "this is why we have reminder email and strict policies" . We were on the road the last five days did not have a chance to get to anything while moving with aged people. please stop charging people exorbitant late fees, that is a highly unfair and unethical practice. Their application filing process is effectively a scam. Be careful of filling an application here, they will take a $400 application deposit (in addition to the application fee) and you can be assured they will not return it back to you if you don't sign the lease for any reason. They will even change the payments you need to make after you pay the deposit and if you back out you will lose the entire amount. What makes this worse is that their form filling process is flawed and discriminatory. International applicants are not even asked for their SSN and are directly charged an additional month's worth of rent as security deposit in addition to the original amount due to 'insufficient credit history'. This move comes when competitive apartment complexes close-by are asking for less than $500 security deposit payments. I had to spend an entire day convincing them to be re-screened with my SSN since I had an excellent credit score, an entire day gone because of their mistake. They will initially pull you in with a small security deposit amount and bait-and-switch their amount and effectively hold you hostage into agreeing to their terms with your $400 application deposit. They charge you this amount even if you don't sign the lease, so if you don't like any terms and conditions on the lease, you will be losing your application deposit. I'd suggest not applying here at all and sign a lease with much better apartment complexes in proximity that won't effectively loot you. read more

Lived at Ashton Bellevue, for 2 years. While the rent charged is for luxury accommodations the service is not. During my stay my apartment sustained water damage on more than one occasion, both instances were due to poor plumbing. In discussing my experience with neighbors I found they (as well as Ten20, residents across the street) too had similar nightmares. In all cases the common gripe was the way UDR management dealt with our inconveniences, that were no fault of our own. Expect to move and remove furniture and personal belongings as needed during the repair process. You will have no expectations of privacy during the repair process as UDR, requires workers to have unfettered access to your apartment. Finally, expect to clean-up upon completion of repairs. Notwithstanding the above, false fire alarms and broken elevators are routine. Again, high rents. Low grade service. read more

Noise pollution, all day all night! Grate cars drive over and you can hear and feel this. If you have the slightly a light sleeper, good luck ever getting a peaceful nights sleep. Then there is the speed demon garbage driver, who takes out and brings in the garbage and recycling several times a week. Don't rent here. If I could post video of how loud this is from inside my apartment you'd be shocked! AC broken for 5+ months, hot water out for days then back on then back off. Garage door broken days. Loud horrible alarm going off for hours. Management does not give written notice to come into your apartment. They just show up. The list goes on and on. Save yourself, don't rent here! read more

Background - I've lived DT Bellevue for over 2 years now & wow I love it here. I thought the last place I lived at was 5 star (I won't take back my old review on last property because rating is all contextual). Staff - Alan was our agent & was so accommodating & helpful. Easy to work with & an all around cool bro. Also has amazing hair. During that time I had mis-coordinated some things & the manager Lindsey was also extremely helpful with getting me all straightened out. Can't ask for better staff (Abigail + Sharriar)! I think Felipe deserves his own section & mention. He is amazing & always looks sharp! The building with implode if he ever left. Building- Int: Everyday I come home it feels like a hotel/spa. It feels so plush & luxurious. All of the minor details (the trimming above the doors or the ceiling how it is not just plain rectangular in the kitchen) make it feel entirely different. The material in the bathroom (forget the name, it's some sort of tile thing) feels like a nice spa. Having a balcony that really nice too. Our unit faces West so we can see the tip (just the tip heh) of the Space Needle & the higher buildings in Seattle. The wood floors aren't mahogany the appliances aren't Viking (like Bravern) but for the runner up in cost you get what you pay for. I didn't want to pay $2800 for a 1 bedroom rental! BR: Dropping a deuce in style. You don't even know. Feels like a spa every time I am in the bathroom. Double sinks with a huge mirror. Power sockets on both sides too! Good water pressure (not as good as after we had a water pump replaced a few weeks ago) & hot water is always hot. The tub is deep & comfy! I've even taken a bubble bath. The shower is nice & big also. If you are able to get a unit with the st& up shower & tub separate I would highly recommend it. Pro tip: get a squeegee & wipe off the glass everyday & you will never have to clean the shower. Sound dampening: Vertical is really good..... UNLESS you have neighbours that wear heels & slide furniture without sliders all day. The entry way/office has the tile on the floor & living room has hardwood floors so hard surface against hard surface makes a clop-clop noise (high heel + floor). Also, if they don't have the sliders on chairs all you hear is furniture dragging across wood floor (whhhhhhrmmmmpppppppp) all day, every day. At times I think there is a mini-horse upstairs & the hooves are clacking everywhere & the mini-horse is pushing little hurdles around. I'm not going to knock the apartment for this since technically this would fall into "fair usage" category. You can't complain about a baby crying! Lateral sound dampening is really good also. I haven't heard any side-to-side nosie from neighbors (I cannot comment if they would say the same!). Gym: When you factor in convenience it is an amazing little gym. The dumbbells only go to 50lbs so having a smith rack is a life saver. The smith rack has 2x45,1x35,1x25,1x10,1x5,1x2.5 plates so you can at least do some real weight on there. Plenty of TVs, water, & towels. My only complaint would be for a dip/pullup station so I could do some real weighted dips. Soda Machine: There is a soda machine in the garage. Yes in the garage. Ever come home drunk & really want something bad for you that is delicious? Yeah go down to the garage & grab a soda. Need a mixer/chaser for some booze? Go down to the garage. Hung over the next day & want a gatorade? Go down to the garage. Yes you have to pay stop being so cheap. Garage: Parking is SPACIOUS with tons of room to navigate around. I haven't seen any new dings on our car yet. Last place we lived had a tight garage, but that is expected downtown so having a spacious one is really a bonus! Laundry: Some units have full size washer & dryer. We had to make a sacrifice somewhere to be responsible with our budget (office, separate glass st&-up shower & tub, balcony, two entry ways to bathroom, full size washer & dryer - pick 2 out of the 5 to be a good price range). Location: Coffee shop downstairs, Bar Code across the street, close to Lincoln Square & Bellevue Square, Subway/Papa Johns/RicenSpice, & some good delivery (a la Eat24 or GrubHub) in range. Bevmo is across the street. Banks 1 block away. If you are heading to Redmond for work there is a 10th St ramp to get on 520. Pro tip: that left turn onto the freeway ramp is considered a one way street so you can turn (after coming to a complete stop) left even if the light is red! Guest Parking: Super easy to provision passes & let your guests park for more than one day if needed. Conc- If it is in your price point & you enjoy the location do it! Best staff with beautiful building. Everyone that has visited us want to live here too. The only thing downtown that is better is The Bravern & it is considerably more expensive with crappier guest parking! read more

My wife and I have lived at the Ashton for 9 yrs. What a wonderful place to live. The amenities and the quality of construction are top notch The office staffing is great....and the maintenance team is second to none. I will say, that the staff changes have been more frequent than in recent years....too much turnover.....not always terrific. There are places for improvement. I really enjoy my apartment. I particularly enjoy my view of the Seattle Skyline and the Olympic mountains. Also aI love my little office off and away from the general living area. The Concierges and the entire rest of the staff are excellent, and most responsive to tenants needs. Service requests are done quickly and completely. We've lived happily at Ashton for nearly two years. We've enjoyed our apt and neighborhood. It is a large building with lots of residents so from time to time some things go awry, but management is always willing to listen to complaints and I believe they do their best to fix problems. Management communicates a lot, always pleasantly and with suggestions or apologies for bad news. This covid ridden summer Ashton Bellevue initiated "Food Truck Tuesdays" and "Food Truck Friday's" which is a lovely relief for residents while restaurants are semi shut down and a wonderful caring way to help small business food trucks out as well. Just one example of Ashton Bellevue's thoughtful community spirit and unique approach to making residents comfortable. read more

We have been living here for 5 1/2 years, and over the past two years building maintenance and resident services have declined to the point where it is no longer a premium building. If you are planning to visit, here are some things to ask the leasing agent about: 1. The A/C stops working 3-4 times per year usually for a few days at a time. Most recently it has been out of service for a month, and we are still waiting for it to be fixed; 2. A few months ago we had no running water for three days. It was so bad that some residents moved to a hotel. We were promised compensation, but have heard nothing; 3. Simple work orders and repairs can take 2-3 weeks to be handled; 4. We have been told that we can no longer use a personal trainer. The building has a well-equipped fitness center, but if we want to use a trainer it seems we have to buy a membership and travel to a gym; 5. The building no longer supplies paper cups and lids for the coffee machine. They have been replaced by a few ceramic mugs that are rarely available, and not usable if you want to grab a coffee on the way out the door to go to work or take the dog for a walk. These complaints range from large issues to small issue, but taken as a whole they reflect an ambivalence towards resident satisfaction that new residents should be aware of. Ashton Bellevue is in a great location and the apartments are nice enough, but you will be paying a premium price for mediocrity. read more

It's been a nightmare dealing with the leasing office. I came to tour an apartment, was informed that there's a cheaper apartment that someone is trying to sublease. I agreed to sublease that apartment, but did not want to have the tenant who's moving out as my landlord. So my name was added to the lease. I was told to write a check of $1100 payable to Ashton as security deposit. My impression was that the $1100 was used to replace the security deposit paid by the previous tenant. But after I signed the new lease with my name and previous tenant's name, I found out the apartment won't be cleaned. When I talked to another leasing agent in the leasing office, I found out the $1100 is being used toward March rent. Since previous tenant's name is still on the lease, they are not releasing any deposit. They won't clean the apartment either because Ashton sees it as an "added roomate" situation rather than a "sublease" situation. Right now, Ashton has already cashed my checks for the March rent, but two days before my move in date, the original leasing agent that I dealt with returned from vacation and asked me to pay $1100 to the previous tenant so he can get back his security deposit since he's moved out. This leasing agent told me that I would not be responsible for previous tenant's damages, and when the lease ends, Ashton would return the security deposit that's being held in the account to me only. But when I talked to the "community manager" to confirm, everything is the opposite! The "community manager" told me that Ashton cannot differentiate which damage belong to whom. Furthermore, the security deposit would be returned in a single check payable to both of our names! So if I paid the $1100 to previous tenant, I would be responsible to his damages, and very possibly wouldn't even be able to cash the check from Ashton when I move out. So it's $1100 down the drain! Now ONE day before the move in date, I am presented with a roommate addendum that the previous tenant and I and Ashton needs to sign! ONE day before the move in date! And we still have yet to resolve the security deposit issue. Furthermore, the community manager told me that I am suppose to get the key from the previous tenant??!! WTF??! My name is on the lease, and the landlord on the lease is Ashton UDR. Am i suppose to get the key from ashton? The manager seemed least bit interested in helping us to solve the problem. It's one day before I am suppose to move in, and she's like, i can talk to you on the phone right now, but i can't see you. She kept saying that Ashton doesn't do sublease, the security deposit is something I have to work out with the previous tenant. Fine. Then why am I being prevented from moving in? I know the situation is unusual, but based on my experience, the leasing office will give you different answers to the same question, you never know if the answer you get is the correct. And worse, the supervisor seems very ambivalent in regards to resident satisfaction. read more

I first came across the Ashton Bellevue/ Ten20 luxury Apartments looking for work. A company called A.B.M. called and said they needed a porter to clean & maintain cleaning of two locations in Bellevue Washington. The first day I started I fell in love with both Building's. Not only the beauty of communities, the staffing is awesome! Sr Concierge Felipe absolutely the best. Juan Beltran the Maintenance Service Manager also one of the best, Community Director Wes Miller, Sr Concierge Christal Wood, Maintenance crew Sanel , Bill and myself. ( Rick ) It Only took a few weeks and I was so impressed with the beauty of it all... beautiful properties... an Awesome staff.. I applied to become part of the Maintenance staff. After a couple of months of testing my knolagement of the industry ... background check and drug testing I became a UDR employee and one of Ashton/ Ten20 towers maintenance tecnition. From day one i said "i love everything about my job!!!That was close to 4 years ago and I still feel the same. Many of the original staff members I started with have been promoted and/ or have moved up within UDR . Even though faces have changed , the friendly professionalism , and dedicatation to exsolance remains. I am 50 years old and have worked for many different companies. I can honestly say that UDR is the absolutely the best employer & team of incredible people I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. My only regret is that I hadn't found UDR years ago. If a beautiful luxury community with a friendly dedicated professional staff is what your looking for Ashton Bellevue/ Ten20 Towers are for you. I started looking for a new home in Bellevue in 2021 during the pandemic. Despite, the difficulty this entailed the sales staff the Ashton Apartments were incredibly accommodating and helpful in addressing all my questions. They patiently walked me through all the details of the lease application and connected me with the right people to arrange for the move in, utilities and other services I needed to get settled into my new home. Since that time, the staff at the Ashton has always been there to take care of anything that may come up. I couldn't be happier. read more

I currently live in a one-bedroom in downtown Bellevue, and as my lease is set to expire at the end of the month, I spared the weekend to come by a few different places and take a look at other available options. One such place was Ten20, just across the street from Ashton. As it just so happens, Ten20 (likely with the intention of cutting some cost) has their leasing office at Ashton, which makes sense since they are both owned by the same parent company. Anyway... I made an appointment and came in to see their one-bedroom apartments. Someone showed up, politely greeted me and immediately went on to asking two questions (1) What kind of apartment are you looking for?, (2) What is your budget? Though in reality my budget was somewhat flexible, after some insisting I gave the leasing agent (whose name I unfortunately can't remember) a number that was definitely below what she was expecting to hear coming out of my lips. And I can say that with some certainty because after that her attitude completely changed and she did her best to make me turn around and go away. I didn't want to give her a high number for my budget since I am aware those tend to be magically pushed up as negotiations go on. In any case, I was really just there because I wanted to see their units. Did I get to see any units, you might ask? Nope. There was absolutely no willingness from this agent to let me have the slightest peek at their apartments. It seemed like a few apartments would be available around the time frame I intended to move in, and some similar ones could have been shown to give me an idea of what the floorplan and finishes look like, but oh well... I left out the fact that it was raining and she would have to cross the street to show me around Ten20. Perhaps she was made of sugar and was afraid of being dissolved while doing that. I get that a lot of people seem extremely happy living there, and with this being a high-end place where thousands of dollars are shed in exchange for a nice roof above heads, I'm not surprised. I can't review Ashton based on the quality of their apartments because, again, I found no one willing to let me see that. That is extremely unfortunate given that my partner and I walked there, under rain, on a saturday, and in fact intended to lease a unit. All in all, I must say I am glad I got to experience the judgmental attitude prior to a tour. It would have been a lot worse if that had happened a minute after I signed the lease. read more

I'm sort of stunned that this place doesn't have more reviews... I usually don't bother writing Yelp reviews, but this place deserves some credit. Trying to figure out where to move is super stressful (at least, I think it is), and somehow most of the reviews on Yelp and similar sites seem to be either from people who've had exceptionally terrible experiences or are leasing agents in disguise spouting generically positive marketing babble. (Hint: If they use the word, "amenities", be suspicious. How many people do you know who use that word?). So, hopefully, this review will help. I lived here for two and a half years, and loved it. By far the best place I've lived. I just moved to Capitol Hill because Bellevue is super boring, but I'll miss the Ashton. First, let's get something out of the way: It's pricey. However, if you can afford it, it's completely worth it. They won't admit it, but this building was intended to be condos, and was repurposed before construction was finished. Believe me, it shows: Hardwood floors, granite countertops, marble showers, floor-to-ceiling thick concrete walls... You just don't get this sort of stuff in apartment buildings. I've had almost no trouble with neighbors. One time the guy next door was blasting his guitar, and another time I heard a kid in the unit above (I think he was pouring a bucket of marbles on the floor...), but otherwise it's like no one else is around. I would point out that it feels really safe, but this is Bellevue we're talking about. I've never felt unsafe in Bellevue. The gym and lobby are lovely. I had a team event in the open kitchen on the first floor, and it worked out great. The rooftop deck thing (on the fourth floor) is beautiful, though it's sort of useless during the winter months, as they take all the padding off the furniture. The leasing staff is generally nice. I've had one encounter where a lady was rude, but everybody has bad days, I guess. Otherwise, they're accommodating and happy to help. Maintenance took care of things quickly and without much trouble One random nitpick: They installed these stupid fans in the bathrooms to keep the circulation going and prevent condensation and mold and whatnot. They run 24 hours a day, and even though they're not loud per se, the fact that I couldn't turn them off when I needed some silence really bothered me. I suspect most people won't notice them, though. All in all, if you're looking to live in Bellevue and can dish out some money, you can't do much better than the Ashton. read more

2 stars on yelp is "Meh. I've experienced better." This review is a 2012 review, last year I would have given a 4/5 - as several of the problems have afflicted us for only a year. I'm going to write a novel. Not to entertain, but to help future tenants consider an experience at this joint. Happy home hunting. To contextualize this review, I've been up all morning. Fire alarms blared from 2am to 5am. There was no fire. In addition to last night/this morning - the morning before was also plagued with the sounds of fire alarms. For 40 minutes, we emptied out and walked down the stairs and stood under an awning in the winter rain because a fire alarm malfunctioned. That's 2 nights of fire-less fire alarms. One lasting 40 minutes, the next lasting around 3 hours. 2 days of fire alarms isn't enough to give a 2 star rating, so let me justify myself a bit more. The elevators were broken yesterday. I'm not lazy - I don't hate walking, but this place isn't cheap. It's also new-ish. I shudder to imagine a decade of decline. In a decade will elevators be broken ever other week? Will we be living with fire alarms popping off with the frequency of full moons? Let me continue to bore you with my melodrama... The hot water was out for around a week. To quote a few people from Ashton's community website: " B. T. Taking a cold shower in my sink this morning was awesome." and then a month later... " S. S. (Previous User) Any update on the water situation? No water since last night and it seems nobody , either Ashton management or UDR, cares about any of us. I can say that living situation and standards have been degraded drastically after UDR's take over of the building!" "Previous User I've lived here just 4 months shy of TWO YEARS and the hot water and water pressure has been a continued issue (both too little and too much) since moving in. I've gone through two full sets of drinking glasses and won't dare put my expensive dishes in the dishwasher because of the erratic water pressure (some have broken) and yet I've had equally as many "squirt gun showers". I realize that some things cannot be helped and obviously this is an issue this building is still working to fix and I can be reasonable in my expectations knowing they are working on fixing it. However Washinton's tenant laws, hot water must be repaired within 24 hours. It also states that if there is a failure to repair a court can stipulate that the rent be reduced. It does not state, that the failure is defined as "we are really trying hard to fix this" excuse, rather defines it as a failure. Which at least 200 tenants can attest to this being a continued failure. Therefore it is my hope that the Ashton will offer a concession (daily rate based on our monthly rent) for the time that our apartments are inhabitable. I for one have been more than patient and will continue to be patient, since I recognize that they are working on the problem. However reconciling this with my checkbook is another story. I hope a reasonable monetary concession will ensue. " "M. M. (Previous User) Just to be clear.....my ire and disappointment regarding this most recent hot water issue is not with the leasing or concierge staff. But yesterday afternoon, what I found unconscionable, was that in spite of the fact that they knew we had no hot water, ALL THE MAINTENANCE STAFF WENT HOME FOR THE WEEKEND! It was only because I went down to the front desk and demanded they be recalled, did they come back here to work on the issue. That my dear residents, is a sad and sorry commentary." Enough about water, who needs it, right? A few months ago a broken water pump somewhere above us was making a racket - imagine sleeping next to an old truck engine sputtering for weeks straight. I had to buy ear plugs. I thought I was going crazy. It affected just a floor or two and just one corner, which is probably why it took weeks to order a custom part. During that time I really suffered, it was pathetic. They just installed always on fans in the bathroom - connected to the light switch. A comment from the site which was followed by a suggestion for a solution from a tenant and few tenants agreeing (to no avail) " I. S. M. F. Am I the only one that thinks the new bathroom fans that NEVER turn off are deeply annoying? UDR installed those things in 6 floors already, the rest to come soon." I'm going to go ahead and finish this post, but not without saying that honestly - the staff here is totally helpful. They're professional and thoughtful. I appreciate the front desk concierge and the leasing agents, but my partner and I have spent so much time not sleeping, or bathing in our cold sinks, that we're considering breaking our lease. I didn't sleep A-ok so I can't give this an A-ok rating. Send me a message if you want to take it over. Would not recommend this property to anyone. They're nice apartments, but it's unfortunately badly run with many shortcomings. There are too many nice places in Bellevue to have to put up with this place. Please save yourself the grief and find another new apartment home. My husband and I lived here for two years. We observed a very high turnover rate in this building because of the problems here. We were model tenants and always paid our rent on time. When it was time to renew the leasing office was very difficult. It seems like the people that work in the leasing office only get commission with new tenants, as they have absolutely no interest in keeping current tenants, even with many vacant apartments in the building. They raised our rent from 2100 to 2400 after a 10 month lease and would also be charged for a garage spot that was previously comped. They were unprofessional and unwilling to work with us, and made the renewal process far more unpleasant than it should have been. When we went month-to-month our monthly payment skyrocketed to $3000. This price was for a 1 bedroom 850 sq ft apartment with no airflow (window in bedroom only opened 2 inches, no windows that opened in the living room) and was higher than similar properties. Before moving out we cleaned the apartment very well, and took detailed pictures, as we had heard they like to charge unfounded prices upon move out. The apartment looked great. We were shocked when we got a bill for $800 dollars in "damages". We had a discounted security deposit as a Microsoft employee of $300. They claimed we owed $500 more dollars for "damages". We consulted with an attorney and were told that damages must be beyond "normal wear and tear". He was surprised how much they were charging. We were charged $400 for painting the apartment. The paint was in good condition with extremely minor scuffs (pictures attached). The whole apartment should not be repainted on our dime. They also charged us $350 to replace the bedroom carpet. I believe they always replace the carpets and repaint the apartment, no matter what it looks like when the tenants leave, and charge beyond reasonable costs. Do not rent here!! My husband and I lived at the Ashton for two years and have paid rent on time and was responsible and respectful tenants. During our departure we notice his wine cabinet had caused condensation on the floor and turned one wood slab white. We were told we had to pay for the whole replacement of the floors upon departure. We took several pics and asked the Ashton for a second unbiased opinion from an outside contractor. They denied our request and replaced the floors entirely without our knowledge and failed to even acknowledge our requests. We then showed pics to other contractors and were told it could have been refinished since it wasn't raised and it wasn't real wood. I was really upset that even Edita Alumbaugh, the Community Manager, ignored my calls and emails. In the end we left our unit in immaculate condition, as seen from the photos, and are seeking legal action currently. We were also charged $400 to have "half the walls" repainted because we had hung pictures. Even if the hole was smaller than a pin point, they said they had to charge us for it. So don't hang anything on the walls. I would advise you rent somewhere else that has also has better amenities. The gym's treadmill often would shut down while you were on it, the BBQ on the terrace would also not be working on sporadic days and their response to maintenance requests often would take 24-48 hours for resolution. You should be expecting more from a "luxury" apartment complex to which you pay $4000 a month in rent. Ashton is a big disappointment. They are a big corporation who frankly has no human element. read more

I lived here for a little over a year. I'm not sure why there are some low ratings I absolutely loved it here! I never had a noise problem, all of my neighbors were very respectful. The staff at Ashton made this home for us, always greeted us with a smile and answered all concerns. Ashton has a lot of community events which are great, you get to mingle and get to know other tenants. I never thought I would miss Ashton so much until I moved to San Diego, Ca. We are currently living in a UDR sister property and it is pretty awful. The building is brand new and everything is falling apart, staff is not helpful, oh yeah and it's dirty! At Ashton everything was always clean, the staff did a great job keeping it tidy. Aston has been far my favorite place to live! Everything about it made it feel like home. Most of all I miss the staff! (Felipe, Abigail, Jane, Lindsay, Eddy... Well everyone including the awesome maintenance crew). It is a little pricey but definitely worth it. I have called the Ashton home since April of 2011. Living at the Ashton has been a wonderful experience. The building itself is very luxurious and the amenities are unmatched. I was up for renewal last November and thought maybe I should look around just to see what's out there. I appreciated my home even more after checking out some other properties in Bellevue. Luxury, service, amazing amenities, and a place you can truly call home. Eddie, the Property Director, is wonderful! She is very loyal to her residents and will go above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy. In the course of 4 years you occasionally have a service request or need some work done. Eddie calls residents personally to ensure that things were done properly. This is the Property Director! She is in touch with the residents and knows everyone by name. She is incredible! Lindsay, the Assistant Property Manager, is the best! She is extremely professional, but she has an amazing personality. She is witty and upbeat all the time. Lindsay is also determined to make certain the residents are happy. Even if I didn't love living at the Ashton I would stay because of Lindsay! She is AWESOME!! The amenities are great, the location is perfect, the building is in spectacular shape and the floor plans are like nothing I have ever seen before. My husband and I looked at other luxury apartments in the downtown Bellevue area prior to finally calling the Ashton our home. We experienced several "personalities" in leasing agents, and there were amenity similarities between buildings, but the Ashton & Staff are the total package! The lobby is like a stylish boutique hotel seen in New York or London. The staff are professional, courteous, helpful and fun! There were multiple floor plan options to choose from and I love that we were able to lease a unit without a balcony which gave us more useable square footage. The floor plans are open and spacious with lots of storage options. Apartments have many features and appointments normally reserved for condo or home ownership. After years of living in a large home with lots of regular maintenance, my husband loves the ability to place online service requests to have them completed in a timely and efficient manner, by someone else! The location couldn't be better, two blocks from the Bellevue transit hub, a ten minute walk to the movies, Bellevue Square and so many restaurants you could eat in a different place nightly for a year or more. The Conceirge tempts residents daily with a new restaurant/bar or other entertainment recommendations, conveniently posted in the elevators. Every time we walk through the front door we marvel at our surroundings. If you're looking for a place to live, put the Ashton at the top of your search list. read more

We have loved living at Ashton for nearly 2 years. Excellent staff, great place to live, plenty of parking spaces. Alley behind the building perfect for moving trucks & for an added access point during rush hour traffic. Roundabout out front great for off-street Uber/Lyft pick-ups/drop-offs. Parcel Pending system for packages. Couldn't be happier. Have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. read more

The good - It's quiet I rarely heard my neighbors, the location is amazing, apartments have awesome natural light with big windows. The bad - Starts with difficulties with the payment portal it's very confusing and you constantly need to do the math to avoid being overcharged even at move out, then good luck getting to the right person at the front desk or UDR to get help with these payment issues the phone system is a dead end. Theres no place to have a moving truck or loading van it was the most stressful moving process I've ever encountered in all my apartment living, especially with the restoration 24/7 van blocking the only loading zone (we tried to reserve it but it's first come first serve and park forever apparently). Parts of the units could seriously use updating like the scratched wood floors and dirty carpet we got in our unit. The toilet leaked constantly and finally was replaced at 3rd service ticket right before move out of course. I enjoyed living there but these issues are annoyances for "luxury living" at a high cost. read more

We moved into Ashton Bellevue in September 2014. I have a medical condition that is exacerbated by heat, so one of the reasons we chose this apartment building was the year round AC. The first few years went well, the AC worked, maintenance requests were handled in a timely manner, access to the fitness room was permitted when I used a personal trainer, a necessity for my condition. Then the AC started breaking down, intermittently at first, then on a more regular basis. The management always apologized saying they were getting their preferred vendor out to work on it. In December 2019 it completely quit working and it has not been fixed since. Lindsay, the Community Director, said that it required a part that needed to be "constructed" on the east coast. Sometimes she would say it was on its way and the repair would soon be made, then she would say it would be here at the end of the month, then she would say it would be 4 - 6 weeks. This has now gone on for four months. And now of course, she says the part is "caught" on the east coast because of the coronavirus travel restrictions. Because we cannot open windows in the high-rise, there is no way to let air into the apartment. As a result, the average temperature in our apartment is now 78 degrees. Then I was told I could not use a personal trainer in the fitness room. So four months ago I submitted all the paperwork for "reasonable accommodation" which is part of the Federal Disabilities Act and as of today they have never submitted it for approval. In the almost six years of living here we have seen Community Directors come and go. Some have been better or worse than others. However, I can honestly say that Lindsay is by far the worst we have ever experienced. The worst part is her lack of veracity. We can never believe that what she is saying is true. Now they are renting to people without telling them that there is no AC in the building. I just want people to know that if they are considering renting an apartment in Ashton Bellevue they need to clarify what works and what does not. read more

Ashton's apartments are very nice and great for walking to restaurants or the mall. Not worth the price when they have been having issues with vehicle break ins and theft. This has been an issue for months now and they do not do anything to resolve these issues or help future break ins. Telling us they cannot afford night security or more security cameras since there are none in the parking garage. Rather have more security than parties here. Couldn't be happier moving out when I have anxiety of living here not sure what will happen next. read more

If you like loud music, barking dogs, and unresponsive staff this place is for you! Very nice apartments, but the noise issues along with a complete unwillingness of the staff to deal with problems make it impossible to enjoy the apartment. This place has the worst sound proofing of any decent apartment I have lived. I hear people in the hallway, walking up the stairs, etc. all day and night. Additionally, I have had several maintenance issues that were fairly minor, but because the staff ignored them they eventually became serious problems. For example, me telling the staff that the water alarm went off in the middle of the night. Their solution: remove the water alarm. Two days later, as you may have guessed, I came home from work to my bedroom carpet soaking wet. Additionally, I had two major appliances break (it happens, not their fault), but instead of quickly replacing them they took exactly 10 days to fix both issues which was conveniently the maximum allowed by the terms of the lease. Great customer service! I currently live here and can't wait for my lease to end. I'm even considering just paying the fee to end the lease early. For the price, this place is absolutely not worth it. UPDATE: The property manager has responded publicly to my review saying they take noise complaints very seriously. Well, I have about 20 emails that I have sent to her office complaining about this very problem and I hardly even received a reply, let alone them fixing the problem. Don't be fooled. UDR and Ashton don't care about you once you have moved in. For more than $2,000 per month I expect better. In short, look elsewhere for a place to live. read more

Expensive but probably worth it! Pros: The building is beautiful and has most needed amenities. They accept dogs and the outside terrace is very nice. They even have heat lamps for those chilly nights. Cons: Expensive, snooty. It's very difficult for you to have guests stay here with you. They will not give them a key fob to get in the building our up and down the stairs. I had to give my guests mine and then suffer lock out and no entry to the parking garage. You have to press a key button to get in and OUT of the garage. It's very inconvenient. There is only one small opening window in my apartment (and most) so it feels super stuffy. I guess all the buildings in DT Bellevue are raising their prices. The staff can be rude and dismissive. I wanted to move to a unit with a balcony and I the front desk forgot to tell the leasing agent. When I mentioned it they said "oh sorry , no one told me." When they asked what they could do for me I mentioned I wanted to move to a unit with outdoor space-t hey said those run $2400 a month for a 1 bedroom. When I said I wasn't looking to spend that much she said- what is your budget? When I told her she just said-"Oh." and didn't offer me any other solutions. At the price I currently pay I expect much better customer service.I can afford $2400 but I find it ridiculous. Kirkland is a much nicer place to live anyways. read more

The sales staff at 1020, and sister building The Ashton, often troll for renters by listing mythical apartment deals on Craigslist. The photos included to pitch the apartment are views out windows that clearly don't match the unit offered. When you call the rental office to try to nail down exactly which unit is being advertised, you can't get a straight answer. When I pointed out to one of the staff that these photos clearly didn't match with the unit being offered, I got a completely non-interested response, and no suggestion that a correction would be made. read more

I have been living here for a year now and I love it. From the floorplans to the amazing 4th floor rooftop common area with seating, grass and grills, i feel like this is the perfect place to live in Bellevue. The consierge staff are warm and routinely have free events like wine and cheese tasting, holiday theme parties and other activities that make it really easy to meet your neighbors and feel totally at home. Specifically Felipe and Abigale really go out of their way to make you feel welcome even when you're just coming down for a cup of (free) coffee or to get your mail. When there are things that need to be fixed/repaired they leave a note in your door so you are aware of any sort of disruption. I very much love living here and look forward to another year at the Ashton. read more

We lived here for a year. The staff was amazing: friendly and always willing to help. We were moving in from abroad and they were really helpful with tons of tips. Once per month you have a residents meeting, with cocktails and food. The staff do their best but most of the time the residents were not really into the party/ social part of the meeting. The building is a luxury building, with all the perks and details you might expect from it. The gym is quite out of date, they should renovate it soon. The only issue we had was when our lease was coming to an end. The people we reached didn't seem to be interested on offering us another apartment (we were looking for a bigger one). At the end of the lease I was expecting them to look for anything in the apartment so as not to refund 100% of the deposit but I couldn't be more wrong: they gave us back 100% of the deposit even before the required time and created no issues with anything. My wife and I lived here back in 2011 for 12 months and loved it! In 2017, we needed to find an apartment again. We looked at all of the high-end apartment complexes in downtown Bellevue but it was obvious to us that Ashton is where we belong. So, we moved here again for the second time. We love our apartment, the amenities, the location, and the people! The lobby is gorgeous and welcomes us home every day. All the staff is great but Chrystle has been especially incredible to work with! I would highly recommend Ashton to anyone who wants to live in a beautiful place, in an amazing location, surrounded by great people! read more

We have lived at the Ashton for the past 6 months, during the remodel of our home. We have had a very positive experience. Starting with our first tour of the place, to signing the lease, to daily interactions and managing guest visitors - the staff at the Ashton has been gracious, welcoming, accommodating and professional. We always felt safe and the building is immaculate. Special shout out to Nick and Crystal and the concierge staff. We move out soon and will miss the community - as the Ashton residents of all ages are great as well.
