I have bruises indicating each finger as he was pressing and pulling my skin while rubbing the ink away with dry paper towel and the tip of his latex glove. Had great work done at this shop over the years, unfortunately not the case anymore. Called to try and get an appointment with Jedi (the owner) just to be talked to as if I was wasting their time. Told by his spouse/scheduler Shelby he only tattoos customers if it's interesting to invest his time into. If he so chooses you as one of his special clients its an expectation he will only do a "truly traditional Japanese" tattoo which you must accept getting shoulder to thigh completed. This was followed with a price tag of 10k without any understanding of what I wanted color or black/grey....Despite all that still met for an in person consultation. Both Jedi and Shelbh did not show for the consultation appointment they set. After showing up 10 minutes early there employees began calling there boss to see if he would even be in that day. Ironic enough his girlfriend/ scheduler calls me within minutes to inform me she and jedi are sick and have been up all night. After asking the availability for reschedule, with obvious frustration at the owners of the shop missing an appointment they set with no notification. I was told " what do you expect jedi is sick" and "it is what it is" Its amazing after giving a shop years of business, thousands of dollars, endless referrals, and held in the highest regards for a san antonio business they treat you like trash. Waste of money to give people like this when what you work hard for when you can go to other shops that have just as talented artist and truly appreciate your business! read more

I walked in with not only one but TWO regrettable pieces of 'art' on my thigh that looked like it was drawn by a toddler with a crayon, and I'm walking out with a masterpiece of a leg piece that Michelangelo would envy. Jedi at Element Tattoo saved me. I was lost and did not know where to turn after letting 4 different tattoo shops work on my left arm (full sleeve). These were not hole in the wall shops, and all had talented artist. I am in no way blaming the other shops or tattooist who worked on my sleeve. I was just as responsible for not understanding what it takes to have good work and obtain the desired outcome when it comes to a large, full sleeve. I researched and looked at every shop from Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas areas. When I looked through Jedi's albums, not only was the work and style perfect, but I also felt a connection to his work somehow (not really sure how to explain this). To keep this review from turning into a history book, I let Jedi work the cover-up on his terms, his color selection and change what he felt needed to be changed, no questions asked. I could not be happier with the end result of the cover-up. I have so much trust in Jedi, we started the right arm full sleeve this past month. I just told him a snake and tiger and let him run with it. In true Jedi style, it is turning out better than I could have imagined. I read a recent negative review, and I have a hard time with this individual not sitting back and performing some self-evaluation. Yes, we are customers, but that doesn't mean life isn't happening to the people running businesses. If you want an excellent tattoo, be a decent human, don't act like your shit doesn't stink and go speak to people with a humble attitude. My opinion is you will not find a better tattoo shop than Element. Every staff member is amazing. Shelby is amazing and so organized when getting me on the books to get work done. Once again the fine folks at Element helped me realize my dream tattoo. While I loved the initial ouroboros tattoo Javier did back in late February, I still wanted a little more splashes, so I did a walk-in consultation, placed my deposit, and a week later I had my tattoo add-on completed. I can finally say my piece is finished and I couldn't be happier. Javier did a fantastic job turning a still-scary situation into something fun and not as painful. He is great at sensing anxiety and fear and turning it around with a quick joke. I trusted him completely with his freehand design work and I am 110% satisfied with the results. As someone who doesn't like her back or body type all that much, Javier's work makes me want to invest in more backless clothing to show off the amazing art he created. He took the ideas and designs I liked and I gave him the rights to put his spin on them. I had 4 medium-small tattoos done this afternoon and was done in less than 2 hours and they turned out fantastic (I live in Roanoke, VA and not sure I would trust anyone to do any of these there). As someone who works two jobs and 75 hour weeks, I asked William if he would be willing to come in on a Mon or Tues to do a large and somewhat expensive piece for me. Not only did I get told "no," I was called ridiculous and chastised for even attempting to ask. It's really not uncommon in the tattoo business for artists to make room in their schedules if the piece and price are right. Instead, both William and the owner Jedidia (who I emailed) acted like I had murdered the family dog by making that ask/request and offering more money. They called me selfish, told me I needed to "do better"...I mean, the onslaught of insults over a simple and fairly common request was just absurd. I've never encountered anything like it in my life. I don't care how good your art is, treating potential clients like crap just because you "don't care about their money" or whatever is inexcusable. After these interactions, I wouldn't come to this studio if it was the last one on earth. Attached is the actual email I got from the owner. EDIT: I just found out that someone named Megan sent the email.I've attached another screenshot and... well, I think it's pretty clear from the exchange who is being "adolescent" and who is not. I stopped going to William because he was extremely rude and had conversations with other people who have had negative experiences with William as well. He thinks making racial jokes and setting you up for embarrassment is entertaining i guess. Really unfortunate. Also did a horrible "cover up" for me and it turned out even worse. I've gotten opinions from other artist on how to fix it & they said it's not fixable. I hate looking at it every single day. read more

I'm part of the way through a pretty large piece that I wanted, and I can't imagine going anywhere else . I came in to talk about a biotech design I wanted, and was directed to Josh. I set up an appointment to discuss the piece, how many sessions to expect, and a price point. Josh took my vague concept and developed it to be exactly what I wanted.... The staff is awesome, and they really make the process easy and enjoyable. From the other artists coming by to see and/comment about the piece. The receptionist is funny, knowledgeable, and has great taste in music for the studio. If you're on the fence about who to go with for your artwork, do yourself a favor and at least give them a shot. read more
