We had a great experience buying our house with the help of Ryan Smith at Element Real Estate. Vermont is a challenging market right now, and with Ryan's help we were able to get an offer accepted within about a month of starting our search. I would describe Ryan's approach as both earnest and laid back at the same time - if that is possible! He was very responsive, offered up many options including FSBO homes we would have missed --  yet he remained optimistic, friendly and personable throughout the process. I don't know what makes an objectively good agent, but I was looking for someone who would push us a little because we were quite scared to buy, but not so pushy that it made us uncomfortable. We approached Connor Hayes late one night when we first seen a house posted that we wanted to purchase. He responded quickly and got right to work to get us a showing.
