24 HOUR BASKETBALL COURT
JackE D.

Fourth night here. Kids partying outside of our room with music and BBQ and everything. These kids are not even staying here. All the staff we have seen is very young and it seems that their friends are allowed to be here all day and night. They are constantly eating and drinking beer in the lobby and hanging out around the whole hotel like it's their home. It makes us as guests feel like we are invading their space. Horrible feeling. Horrible experience. Hate this hotel. Lasyly, kids couldn't go swimming for the 4 days we were here do to the NASTY pool. Photos advertised online of the pool with the glass ceiling are NOT of this hotel.

Absolutely perfect! Clean, bright, spacious! Excellent customer service. The kitchenette and large fridge were a great surprise as well.

I have been going here for years, but it's my first time for a concert. Heck I didn't even know…read morethey could do a concert. This is more or less on their front lawn off to the side. It actually works out great and scones the stage isn't that big it's big enough. The seating is all GA but they have a VIP section if that's your thing. With the GA seating getting there and securing a spot early is important if you are going to rent their $14 low-back chairs. If you bring your beach towel, then showing up later is fine because you can just slip In anywhere there is a small spot. I showed up one hour after gates opened with my beach towel and was like 30 feet from the stage. Pro tip: Don't bother renting a chair if you are going to sit up close to the stage. Once the concert begins everyone stands up for the entire concert anyways. If you are sitting further back then chair rental makes sense, especially because the ground is not soft and uneven in several places. The other thing I noticed is that they did allow those bleacher seats that are cushioned and have a back to them. I dislike their policy on no blankets or bringing your own lowback chairs but I think I I can understand why. People were abusing the policy. I can personally tell you I use to see people use their chairs as a place in line that they drop off in the morning and come back to just before gates open. Kinda unfair, but also people that brought huge blankets to hold off large spaces in front of the stage for their friends and family that showed up later. I was surprised at the sound quality which was pretty good for an outdoor venue. But then I was 30 ft back from the stage. Not sure how it is further back. The other thing is if it's a cold night, bundle up as you can't bring any blankets anyways. They do make you measure your towel to make sure it doesn't exceed the size limit and if it does your only choice is to check it in at the gate or return it back to your car. About the rest of the property. It is a unique like several mcnenamins properties in that they rehab'ed and restored historic buildings into a cool venue for eating and drinking and even lodging. I love that about mcmenamins. Grand Lodge is no exception. A beautiful property way out in Forest Grove. They offer lodging, dining, a movie theater, and music. There is a little spa area too. Parking is usually not an issue and I have stayed overnight before and it's been a great experience. However, the food and beers are honestly good but not great. It's the same way across most of the Mcmenamins. Sure there is better food and better beer but you don't get a cool setting like this. Yes, you come for the setting and that's what makes it worthwhile.

Good service and fun location! We ordered the Poke Nachos…read moreand BBQ Chicken Pizza, both were pretty good. The Poke Nachos were an interesting concept. Overall unique and tasty but the sauce was pretty wasabi heavy and I think I would have preferred either less sauce or for it to be served on the side so I could dip the nachos. But overall I like this McMenamins location!

Good things: super comfy mattresses, hot tub was hot, really cool that juice & coffee are free all…read moreday. However I was refused the $50/10,000 point credit for a 3night stay, even though my stay was 3 nights. Fun side activity: I also had several deposits held on my card - one for each night - and had to check in & out every day. Our room had loud, pounding music all day & night - we thought it was a neighbor; turns out we were above the pool. I was told how sorry they were, and that was it. We had to try to work & take meetings with a constant, loud bass in the background, as well as try to sleep through it. After several texts and complaints, on the third and last night, somebody finally turned it off at 7PM. Not worth the comfy bed & free juice.

Ok here goes…read more.... Pros - Brian had very good customer service skills when we checked in after 11pm. He explained the house rules when it came to midnight and how to access the hotel. He asked how we were doing and so forth. Cons - there was a male individual at the counter speaking to him before we walked in.....without a shirt and only wearing dark colored boxer briefs. Not something that should have been acceptable. Other Pros - Breakfast was good and well stocked. In addition to a make your own waffle station, there were bagels and yogurt, as well as a warm food bar with scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast and biscuits with gravy. Juice options and coffee/tea rounded the corner. Beds were a plus. Firm mattress and supportive pillows. The main issue was the guy wearing nothing but his briefs at the front desk when we came in.

We ended up at SpringHill Suites after needing to change hotels at short notice, and it turned out…read moreto be a great save. We were able to book quickly at a reasonable rate, and the front desk clerk kindly let us check in early, which we really appreciated. Our room was a good size, with two queen beds, a sofa bed, and a small kitchenette area, making it comfortable and practical for our stay. I was especially pleased to find Udi's gluten free muffins available at breakfast on our first morning, though it was a bit puzzling that there weren't any gluten free options the following day. The staff were excellent throughout. They were so friendly, accommodating, and always willing to help. The location is another big plus, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. You will need a car, and the only downside was the parking fee, which felt a little unnecessary given how much parking there is in the area.

It made the room completely unusable for us. We went back to the front desk to ask for another room, but were initially told there were no other rooms available with two queen beds. They offered us two separate rooms instead, but said we would have to pay for the additional room, which didn't feel reasonable given the situation. After going back and forth, they did end up finding us another room and thankfully didn't charge us extra. I appreciate that they eventually made it right, but the whole experience was frustrating and could have been handled much better from the start
