I love this salon! It's gorgeous inside with beautiful crystal chandeliers and big comfy couches to wait for your stylist. Mandy styles my hair but there are many capable stylists there. I have been coming to Elegant Image for what seems like over 10 years now! The owner Claudia first started doing my hair when I was in middle school and has been there every step of the way for me through high school proms, hair cuts when I was home from college and graduate school and now as a full time working professional home for the holidays. I have trusted the Elegant Image team with my hair for so long, which is why I keep going back! Claudia does such a nice job that it makes it worth it for me to hold out on getting my hair done for a few extra weeks for until I am in town visiting with family. My coworker and friend got amazing extensions here so I made an appointment at Elegant Image on her recommendation. By far the best extensions I've ever had! I waited five weeks after getting tape in extensions installed to see how they lasted; not one fell out (and I'm abusive with my hair, I work out and sweat; I wash it more often than recommended; blow dry and straighten it, breaking all the rules.) I've gotten extensions done at two other places (one place specializes in extensions in NYC) and the quality of the hair I got at Elegant Image far surpasses the two other salons. This is the first install I have had where the extensions have not fallen out. The price point is extremely reasonable. The staff is friendly as well. I've been coming here now for awhile and felt I should update my review. I really love this hair salon. I feel very welcomed from the first time I came here.They always have coffee brewing. This is not your typical beauty shop. The owner Claudia is so amazing! She runs this salon like all her employees are family. Everyone is extremely respectful of one another and all the beauticians help each other out. Whether it's washing someone's hair or helping with blow drying. Your won't find any cut throat people here. All the girls are very polite and friendly. They all have experience and I feel they truly listen to their clients. These girls really enjoy what they do, and they never make you feel like they don't want to be there. Crystal does beautiful highlights, especially on blondes along with many other things. Amanda does great blowouts and intricate braiding. Claudia does everything along with bridal parties. They all cut men's hair,children's hair and straightening treatments too . They use really good quality products on your hair. They really do a terrific job. Elegant Image is known for a lot of repeat clientele . Once someone is a customer they seem to return again and again. Many have been coming here for years. I know this only because when I'm here I talk to other customers to get their opinion. This salon is very down to earth. What makes it special is it's small and very comfortable. If your looking for a high buck fancy salon experience then this place isn't for you. If you want a good haircut, or color and simple waxing. Then by all means please try them. This salon is very fairly priced compared to all the salons in Westfield. I always make an appointment , but they will except walk-ins if their not busy. You can park on the street, or park in a lot next to the car wash for free after 12:30p.Thats a big plus especially for Westfield where they nickel and dime you on the parking. Was looking for a new salon after a hair fiasco 2 weeks before my wedding! Purchased the groupon for a cut, color and blow out. The location? EW. Interior? Small and dismal. Quaint would be a stretch. The color? LOVED. The cut? I showed her a picture and my hair? Looks nothing like said photo. SHE CHOPPED MY HAIR! I asked for an angled cut keeping the length in the front and there was no length left--literally cut 4 1/2 inches. It may not be a lot for some but my hair is fine and grows super slow and I am NOT happy. Also added a "U" shaped style to the back to show the darker color I already had underneath? Just weird. I guess you get what you pay for. And what blowout? I was flat ironed! Straighten thin hair? No no...I need volume from a salon...NEXT! The only plus was that the staff was very nice and seemed welcoming but everything else just wasn't pulling in their favor. Sorry. read more

I got partial highlights and a haircut. Crystal worked on my color and hair cut for a very long time. She and the rest of the staff were lovely, friendly and charming. I can't stress how nice and hardworking these girls are, and they are young and cute. Crystal was really responsive and gave me a lot of attention. The blowout she gave me made the awesome haircut she gave me look horrible and I went home and was miserable until I washed my hair. Then I was totally impressed with how it looked and I am seriously thinking of going back to her. I will say that this place looks really dingy- I am not a snob, but I am used to salons being really nicely decorated and this was downscale. All I can say is that this spot is a diamond in the rough and their prices are reasonable. If you have curly hair, you know that finding that 'special someone' to treat your temperamental 'do with love is a rare and treasured find. I am pleased with how great of a job Crystal has done with evening out the havoc that has been wreaked on my thick, curly hair after a well meaning stylist took to it with an enthusiastic pair of scissors. I do not color my hair, and so it's just wash, cut, style. In regard to the interior: let's just be real here, it doesn't matter how amazing a place looks if they mess up your hair, so I am glad that this little, unassuming storefront is a keeper. I will continue to come back to Crystal for a solid curly hair cut that doesn't cost the price of my arm and left kidney. I love this place. Everyone is very friendly and does great work. Hillary is the best shampoo girl I ever had but I think she's so good that she is a hairdresser now. So far I've been lucky to still have her shampoo me but I'm sure as she gets more clients that won't be the case. I'll definitely miss her terribly! No one gives a scalp massage like her. I am extremely disappointed with this salon. I asked for a trim and to thin my hair,a simple request. Yet, more than double what I asked for was cut off, it is shorter in the back than in the front which I didn't want and my hair was barely thinned making the short cut I was given look terrible with my very thick hair. This was my second visit, and beside the receptionist, Claudia and Hillary were very unprofessional. I paid $80 for color without their "blow-out". After a sloppy wash, my hair was dripping wet... I had to ask for a towel.... What's up with that? When I noticed the dye on my face, they handed a towel. Was I suppose to walk out of the salon with hair dye on my face? For that price I expect a welcoming environment and the staff to be more professional. I was disappointed and will not be coming back here again. read more

Daughter went there on Friday for an ombré hair color. We showed Crystal a picture of the desired hairstyle and she said no problem. It was a problem, a big problem. My daughter has brown hair, she specifically stated no blonde and no orange color effects. She wanted a brown ombré. We were there for 4.5 hours. As soon as she saw her hair color dried she let Crystal know immediately this wasn't what she asked for, not even remotely. They then applied more things to her hair and it still wasn't right. At this pint we were so done and exhausted we just wanted out of the salon. Upon paying a bill of over $200, the entire staff was standing at the register waiting for us to pay!! What a forced uncomfortable situation. My daughters head was so sore from the ripping of her hair at the sink, this was brutal. I wouldn't have paid for this service if I didn't feel so pressured. If it had turned out nicely I certainly would have had no problem. I called the next morning to report our dissatisfaction. Of course their position was no refunds. I asked my message to be passed to the owner who was busy with clients and was told she would call me back when she was finished for the day. Well, no phone call. This salon is not familiar with hair color. This shouldn't have happened. We went to another salon saturday morning and had the color fixed for $65. It came out beautifully. BEWARE of this salon, they aren't pros and have bad business practices. I might mention they were given the opportunity to fix her hair once that day, they still couldn't make it happen. read more

Mandee has been doing my hair for a few years now but she recently joined the staff at Elegant Image. What a fantastic match! Not only is the staff super friendly and accommodating (coffee, wine AND they were so nice and helpful when I had to bring my baby with me). I have literally spent 7 hour days there for total hair transformation and I have seen so many of their clients leave with beautiful cuts, color and smiles on their faces. They also recently added affordable nail services, so I look forward to trying them on my next visit, too. Excellent! I got my hair cut here today and am definitely going back. I was very anxious because the same woman had been cutting my hair since I was 5, but I don't live near that salon anymore. I also wanted to try a new style and was nervous I wouldn't like it. I ended up donating my hair and getting it cut even shorter than I wanted to, and Crystal did an amazing job!
