We drove from the west side of Ireland toward the end of our 3 weeks trip in Ireland, and it was very nice relax ending to our trip. Restaurant: We dined at both restaurants: Fairways restaurant (upstairs, more formal) and Brasserie Bar (downstairs, casual). Fairways dinner was delicious. Every choice is good, and wish we were able to try out each of the dishes. I'd say most of the guests were dressed up and more formal, but some are dressed in leggings and tees. Also the view of the 18th green from the window seat was really beautiful especially in the morning. Brasserie serves more casual meals like burgers and appetizers, after golf and snacks. We enjoyed both restaurants. Golf course: Very well maintained, parkland style 18 hole golf course. Beautiful views of hills and lakes, and it is very rash and green. Fairways are mildly generous with some challenges around the greens. We enjoyed chatting with some local players in between holes. Be prepared to lose some balls! Once I miss the fairway, my ball was gone. I know where the ball had gone, but just couldn't find them. The lady at the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was they were having some issue with water while we were staying there. The hotel provided bottled waters and you can ask for more bottles, but when showering and washing face using faucet, flushing toilets, the water comes out brown and it was not too pleasant. Hopefully they'll fix whatever the water issue they're experiencing soon.

We called for service and waited an hour. When I called again for an update we were told it would be quite a while. I then called the hotel to see if there's anyway that they could possibly come and pick up my partner. I spoke to a lovely woman at the hotel and she told me she would call me right back. Just a few short minutes later she called to say that Mick was on his way. I intended to wait with the car and wanted to get my partner to safety and comfort. Mick refused to leave me and gathered both us and our luggage and took us to the hotel promising a return ride to the car when the service man arrived. When we arrived at the hotel everyone was warm and caring. They checked us in to an absolutely beautiful room with a stunning view. When we arrived at a room Nick was waiting there with ice cold beverages to quench our thirst. When the car repair man was there Mitch Trudo is where I drove me back. When I finally ride back to the hotel we freshened up and went for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious the service was wonderful. As this was our first day, The punctured tire and sitting by the side of the road for a while could've affected our vacation. Mitch and this hotel staff were absolutely instrumental in turning that around. Their warmth and hospitality went above and beyond. I attended a History and Humanities Ball organized by Trinity College Dublin held within this room…read morein 2008. It is the foremost event space within the storehouse and can be separated into two rooms - a dining section and a bar, or alternatively one single, large space. The Arrol Suite is named after Sir William Arrol, the man responsible for the steelwork of London's Tower Bridge and Dublin's Guinness Storehouse. Enclosed by towering windows looking out over the Brewery and beyond to Dublin, the space takes up, more or less, one whole side of this gigantic construction. These extraordinary soaring windows and the room's radiant oak floor see to it that a bright and fresh ambience is fashioned. I can vouch for The Arrol Suite as a flawless spot for corporate events, balls, product launches, gala dinners, award ceremonies, and receptions.

I was so thankful that someone from a foreign land was so accommodating and able to do exactly what I needed him to do. They are not the best printers in town but I consider them the best value for money with very reasonable quality of printing for not that much money and quite fast turnaround.

My first experience with this lab was absolutely terrible. Three owners. The printer Michael had a…read moreterrible condescending attitude and very rude. The prints I received from them was well below standards. I got made two 8' prints and two 6' prints printed and mounted and heatsealed. The prints were absolutely terrible they were all about 50% too dark and showed colour blotching. The shadows were all blocked up and over all a magenta colour cast. The heatseals were no better, pieces of stringed dust trapped under the heatseal in the skies were very noticeable. The edge of one of the photos seemed cut by hand and too which seemed so uneven one might thing he must have been drunk. Over all Im shocked to think any photo lab would produce such low standards.I paid €1350 and they requested I make a bank transfer in advance, which I did. I also spoke to Jim and he didn't realise that they had to match the samples that I sent with the order. OMG...I finally spoke to the printer again( Michael) to address this problem. He told me that I sized up my image that there was no camera that could produced this file size. He went on to tell me that he was printing for twenty years and there was no camera that could produce this. I couldn't get a word in at any time to explain because he hung up on me three times. His behaviour was childish and ignorant and hiding behind the phone. Anyone can have an off day but at least admit it like a man and fix the problem. They refused to remake again and no refund. I have missed an opening of a very important event with VIP's attached. Any photographer or lab can put PROFESSIONAL and QUALITY attached to their name, but real business and printers can produce. From cards to groceries to sandwiches to newspapers, they fill the little place up with quite a lot of stuff for you to purchase. Though Rathmines is littered with Spars and Centras this little family-run business has managed to hold on in there despite the intense competition, although it probably has a little location advantage as it's just far enough away from the swan centre for you to consider being lazy and just buying what you need here.

The owners are always friendly and ask you how you've been. At different parts of the day you'll meet the wife, husband, and their sons behind the counter. One time I was having trouble with my DVD player and the husband actually offered a great deal of advice and told me to come back in to him if his suggestions didn't work! They've got everything you could imagine and I even found marshmallows there once that I couldn't find in Dunnes or Tesco. Some of the food in there is a bit dated as Ciara pointed out. One time I bought a bag of Dorito's ony to bring them home to find out that the bag had been opened and they were stale. Another time my flatmate went to buy milk and all sell by dates had passed the week before. So if you decided to fight against the corporate giants and support this shop, as I suggest you do, it might be best to stick to non-perishables!

First proper holiday in two years, and we really needed it. Arrived at Dublin International Airport…read moreat an obscenely early hour shortly after 5am. Couldn't go to our B&B that early so after collecting our luggage and clearing customs, we had a nice coffee and relaxed a bit. A taxi brought us to our B&B, Azalea Lodge, where we seemed to have woken our host, Padraig, up, or at least caught him before he was ready for the morning. He was in good spirits though and welcomed us. It was only about 7 or so, and we were hoping to drop our luggage off. As luck would have it, our room was vacant and ready. Padraig offered us early entry so we could take a nap. Woke after an hour or two ready to see the sights. Padraig's wife, Bernadette, greeted us on our way out and was very helpful with bus information and was able to sell us a family bus pass for the day. After a full day of walking around Dublin, we were sure happy to get back to our comfortable room at the B&B. Breakfast the next morning was perfect. The rates were very good for Dublin. would definitely stay here again. Padraig and Bernadette are great hosts!

Friendly staff; old hotel We stayed three days recently…read moreright after the three weeks unusual dry and hot period in Ireland. The hotel is old so set your expectation accordingly. Staff is very friendly. However, due to the unusual warm temperature, and the hotel has no A/C or celling fans, the rooms were quite hot. Windows could not open much so it stayed stuffy and uncomfortably warm during the night. Guess it is not usual occurrence as the front desk ran out of portable fans for guest rooms as well. We stayed in the newer expanded section of the hotel but the room is still kind of old looking and small. Room has an old tube TV that took up quite a bit of the space. Otherwise, the room is ok and seems to be clean enough. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking distance from the train station so it was easy to get around. If you are driving, like most places around the area, the parking lot behind the building is not too big and the driveway is pretty narrow. Just beware. Overall, the hotel has character and has been around for many years. Also right across the street from the ocean. Highly unlikely that you would get an ocean view room (if that matters to you) as majority of the rooms are facing the side or the parking area.

The staff is nice enough to let you leave you bags by the counter if you need a place to keep them before or after check in/out. Our room was clean but staying there about 4 nights I noticed a lot. For starters why are the #500 rooms and #200 rooms on the 3rd floor while #300s are on the 2nd. That was downright confusing. But not concerning. I also found thumbtacks on the staircase one of which had already been stepped on and bent. It remained in place the entire time we were there. Vacuum much? Now for our room. Beds seemed clean. Tables clean. The t.v was the worst. It took us about 45 minutes in total over the course of 2 days to figure out how to turn it on. Has anyone had to channel up+ on to turn a t.v on? The shower head was horrendously cared for as half the water coming out of it poured down the back of it (picture provided). One of our towels had a bleeched out blood stain. Nasty! Bleeched I know but still. They don't offer tea or coffee in the lobby, something a lot of American hotels do. So I went to make tea with the electric kettle provided I opened it to find water already in it and it had so much grime on the bottom I cold swipe it with my finger (picture provided). EW! Now our room was just adjacent like many others to their dance hall. Note that many people on vacation like to get up early and go do things. But it's very hard when the hotel welcomes huge celebrations to continue till midnight. Least to say both Friday and Saturday night we only got about 5.5 hours of sleep before getting up as we had planned the days before. If I ever return to Bray Ireland I will never stay here again.
