Friendly team and excellent service. Harriet is fast and my gel nails always look fab and last longer than any others I've had in the past. You also get offered a complimentary glass of bubbles which goes down a tear while getting your nails pampered. Gel nails cost £22 with removal of previous set included. I recently had my gels off which is £5 or free with any service, so I opted for a file and polish which cost £8 and lasted literally 10 days before it started to chip. Amazing! You can book online and I would highly recommend Harriet's service for nails. I can't comment on other beauticians as haven't experienced their services.

She doesn't judge me for my low pain threshold and gets the job done quickly and as pain free as possible. It's excellent value for money and a lovely salon too. So I decided to treat myself to getting my nails done. I decided on The Powder Room as its local to…read moreme and have heard good things. I have had trouble with acrylics in the past in that the tips that are glued on tend to ping off as they are more curved than my nail beds and don't adhere properly. The beauty (pun intended) here is that they don't use said precut tips. Nails are sculpted with white and pink acrylic powder which is done so very deftly, it looks like child's play, which I'm pretty certain it isn't. The ladies are both lovely, welcoming and friendly, and chatting felt in no way scripted like it can in some places (Special occasion /going on holidays/weather etc) it felt like having a natter with an old friend. Very impressed with the results, the price and the service and they have a new regular customer. They may only be small and independent but they've got it nailed (see what I did there?) I've already recommended them to a few of my friends. UPDATE Just a week after getting my acrylics done the one on my pinky snapped off. Gave them a call and they fitted me in an hour later for a free repair. Can't get better than that for service! Utterly brilliant!

I have being going to The Nail Queen since I realised you could attach fake nails onto your fingers…read moreand make them look pretty. From being a student, I would make my way once a month to nail queen to have my false frenchies put in place. This weekend I came home for a wedding and was in desperate need of my nails doing and off I tottered back to Nail Queen - the place I'd always relied on. The same husband and wife still reside and the same, as with all nail salons, is instantly recognisable. I was seated straight away and hands grabbed forward. From memory, I always preferred the wife to do my nails but this time it was the husband. They're quick and efficient but I always feel that the wife just cares that little bit more. I left, 70% happy. Some of my nails were slightly wonky and the colour of had put on (dark red) had ran onto me fingers but this washed straight off. When and if I'm home again, and in need of my nails doing I will probably always return here. I know the place, it's trustworthy and it's £25 for a good set of gel nails - can't ask for much more really?!
