I purchased a voucher costing £35 for the offer of '£35 instead of £105 for a cut and finish, full colour and a luxury hair and spa treatment at Macleod Bradley - Save 67%'
When I arrived for my appointment it was very clear that the salon were not prepared to do the 'full colour' as said on the voucher. The Hairdresser was adamant that I could not have the full colour as I already had colour on my hair, and she did not want to use bleach to lighten my hair . This was decided before I had even told her what colour I wanted, and even after showing her that I only wanted to go a shade or so lighter than the reddish/brown that my hair already was, she still refused, saying bleach would not be good for my hair. I said I wanted colour not bleach. After negotiating she agreed to put 'a few highlights' in the top of my hair, that would be one or 2 shades lighter than the colour my hair already was.
What actually happened was that instead of using colour, they just used pure bleach to add highlights, resulting in the highlights being bright yellow/orangey colour. I expressed that I was not happy that they had done this so they put 'a toner' over the top and tried to say it was my fault for asking for highlights! I went home and still dissatisfied with the colour, I contacted the salon and asked if I could go back and have it corrected.
The salon were very rude to me, again tried to say it was my fault, and when I asked her to colour over the hideous highlights was told I may have to pay something towards the colour because I had used the voucher!
I feel that from the start the salon were obviously trying to save money and did not want to do a full head colour, or use any colour, resulting in them just using bleach on my hair because of the fact that I had a voucher.
The supposed 'colour' that was put on to correct the highlights has washed out after 3 washes, I am guessing they only used a 'toner' again to save money!
The salon are not prepared to do anything else to my hair without charging me extra money. This means that I will end up paying out more than the voucher to have my hair put right, defeating the object of the offer.
This experience has put me off buying vouchers in future as it seems that I may get inferior service or goods!
I have attempted to complain to the salon but they are not interested. read more
