Additionally, it is a local company and non-transferable if you move out of their territory. They charge you no matter what! You can't get out of the contract despite the fact you live out of their service range, so you have to pay for years despite the fact that the people who move into the house are also paying them for the service. They promise to communicate regarding the situation, but never do. Double dipping keeps them well-paid. This is a shoddy business model. Their poor service along with monthly charges despite the fact they don't serve the area you move to makes them a very sketchy company. Go with a nationally known company.

The worst part is that I want to cancel my services because I am completely dissatisfied and am now moving OUT OF THE COUNTRY and I can't even do that because it literally costs thousands of dollars to do so - on top of the thousands of dollars I have already paid into this useless system. I originally had American Alarm and Audio in Milton Florida install a security system in my new…read morehome in 2004. This company was bought out by Red wire based out of Tallahassee Florida. I updated the system for access to open the garage doors and front door, turn the system off etc. I am not sure when this took place. I have no problem with the system it's self. I reached out to them when i decided to put my home on the market, they did inform me that a 30 day notice need to be sent to turn off the system. I put my house on the market the Thursday before Thanksgiving, received an offer on Friday and closed on the 10 of December. I did not anticipate this quick of a turnaround, especially since it was the holiday's. They kept the 83.00 and said that I should get around 20.00 or so refund. That is just not right. Having a security system for 20 years and am penalized because i did not give them a complete 30 day notice. I will never recommend Red wire security system to anyone in the US. Especially in Tallahassee Florida, the accounting department of red wire only care about money, I had this terrible experience on the 16th of December.

(Yes we owed a balance and paid late but we paid it in full) We have not had a working system in months and last call a repair guy showed up and didn't resolve the "door sensor". Our alarm triggers during working hours and continues to trip every 10 min after it has been disarmed. We offer spa treatments and have been completely embarrassed when this happens and have had countless complaints from our clients as their services have been disrupted. We stopped using the system due to the faulty alarm and just due to the hassle of it. They are trying to sue us for the cost of service for the next 5 years. We paid our outstanding bill of $370 in full and are being harassed daily by their aggressive collector. For the record we have not received one call from them prior to this and only one final notice bill in the mail which was last week after they sent us to this collection company. If I treated a client like that I'd be out of business.
