This is an addition to the review and a response back to Janet's response to me. I am very well aware of inflation. I did not know her prices changed. I was simply asking her how much she charged but I was 100% willing to pay. I'm going to post pictures of our text messages. I did not ask for a refund until weeks after our back-and-forth. She kept giving me different cream recommendations after I had gone to a medical Dermatologist who had put me on antibiotics due to infection. Not once did she say I'm sorry or apologize or take accountability for the fact that I literally have scars on my face. Her mentioning my disappointment with other places is false- I went to one other person over a year and a half ago for a diff area and I just didn't like her technique and never went back. But I was never scarred and my skin was never destroyed. I came BACK TO YOU because I trusted you. I have seen Janet for years. I have had dozens of hours treatment with her. I have seen probably 10 other electrologists and she is the best I have been too. Her space is private and comfortable and she is really nice. I left her for awhile because there are cheaper alternatives out but I had to come back! There was no comparison. Overpriced and skin breakout. I went to her 2x and charged me $150 for hour when only 30 mins needed for my face. When I wanted to get price reduced she was yelling saying no give me my money aggressively. After, My face skin had breakouts and skin peeling. I had to apply Vaseline for 2 weeks to heal my skin. I think she does transgender hair and uses same for females too much heat. However one thing the hair reduction was good. Let's face it, the very nature of how it works makes electrolysis a potentially painful procedure. Thankfully for people with a low pain threshold like me, there's Janet. On my first visit, she carefully explained how to prep oneself prior to the session to mitigate any discomfort. Once she begins, her soft, gentle demeanor makes even the more challenging areas tolerable, and if ever the discomfort is too much, she gracefully moves to a different spot and keeps on her steady focus. After only the first handful of visits, there are major, noticeable differences in my facial appearance IRL and especially noticeable in photos - she's even been able to clear areas other folks said couldn't be done! After moving towards a mask-optional LA, I realized that I needed to do something more permanent about my embarrassing chin hairs and I reached out to schedule a consultation. To my surprised, Janet was able to do the first treatment right away, sending me down a relatively easy path towards hairlessness. I saw Janet from December 2022 through March of 2023. I had been using another studio before I was able to get service through the VA with Janet. I was very happy that Janet had contracted with the VA to provide services for Transgender Veterans needing hair removal. Unfortunately her there were issues with her technique and/or equipment. I had had work done by other electrologists and been able to sit for several hours without too much pain. with Janet it was very painful even with high percentage lidocaine creams and Advil. I could not tolerate the pain an had to take breaks during 2 hours sessions. I also noticed that the healing process took well over a week and the areas remained sore and scabbed longer than with other providers. I brought this to Janet's attention and even asked if she could check her equipment and/or reduce the intensity. Nothing changed. I stopped using her service due to the excessive pain and long healing times. what i didn't know was that scaring in the form of pitting and damage resulting in wrinkles of the upper lip could present weeks and even months after treatment when such treatment has not been done properly. I am now left with pitting in the areas that Janet worked on and heavy wrinkles to my upper lip where she did work. I will need toi find a way to reverse these damages. I am aware of another transgender veteran who said that she had had burns from Janet and also stopped using her. I feel disappointed, depressed and responsible since it was I who recruited Janet to contract with the VA and I who informed the other veteran. I think Janet means well and is a very sweet lady. but I also think there is something very wrong with her technique or equipment.
