I knew that I wanted a fine line tattoo of an owl holding an orange, and I wanted the artist to take my thoughts and bring their own creativity and artistry to it. I eventually found Brianna at 27 through Instagram, who made the process easy by using your consultation to learn more about me, how I dress to match my style, and what I wanted from the tattoo. I could not have been more impressed when I came back for the first session and saw that the image I had provided made by chatgpt had been transformed into something that I will cherish forever! Brianna was also almost exact on her quote for the amount of hours it would take and price. The studio itself is very clean and many individual rooms, so it felt private and comfortable. I was a bit nervous because I have vasovagal reactions to needles, but Brianna was prepared made sure I was good when we started both sessions. Brianna went over the top to make sure I had some tattoo balm to take home after the first session since I only had products that would have damaged the tattoo. I would highly recommend Brianna to anyone looking for a fine line tattoo from an artist who can bring her own vision to the image.

My friend and I had spent all day looking for a shop to pierce her ears and found that almost all the shops reeked of marijuana and lacked sanitary hygiene. We stumbled upon Valhalla modifications and called the shop, spoke to the owner, and he had told us he could take walk-ins. We arrived 15 minutes later, and he opened us with open arms. He was probably one of the most genuine and attentive people I have ever met. His shop was clean and did NOT reek of marijuana. He spent at least 30 minutes explaining to my friend the options for earrings and how they all differ and benefit her. He was extremely thorough. When piercing her ears, he explained how he would pierce them, why he chose the angles he did and also explained to her everything he was doing as he was doing it. My friend and I were comfortable with the choices, and I decided to get the word "strength" tattooed on my right wrist. The tattoo placement and word I had chosen were a little more complicated than other work he had done due to the thickness and style I wanted to do. He told me he would take a little longer to ensure the tattoo looked best. I was okay with that. He had me revise the tattoo multiple times and let him know if I wanted anything corrected. The tattoo remains one of my favorites, and I loved our overall experience. Wes (the owner) is a talented artist! I DEFINITELY recommend this shop and look forward to coming back.

He also has excellent knowledge on what is even possible based on your ear anatom. Old West has a little room with a professional medical table/seat for piercings. I wanted a certain orbital but he said not only is my ear not as pronounced there, it's a very complex healing process. Luckily I had already researched Old West & liked another orbital picture they posted to Yelp so that one was my second choice & Torin was all over it! He measured & placed it PERFECTLY. Plus I got a flat piercing & he placed that perfectly as well in comparison to my other piercings. His commitment to health & safety is unmatched & both piercing are healing so well with the saline solution I bought from Old West. I came back exactly a month to get the shorter post needed for my flat and it was just such a pleasure to show Torin how great they both look! Each time I was in there were multiple people getting tats and the piercings are like back-to-back so this is definitely a go-to place for both. Thank you Torin & Old West! Pic is exactly one month from the flat & side orbital piercing - orbital is 16g 10mm ring & flat is 14g bezel Swarovski crystal, both purchased from Old West.

I participate in Protectors of the Salt River, a South Phoenix Centered gathering of people mobilizing Sunday mornings to remove the Yellow Stinknet invasive weed from, for now, the Audubon Center acreage south of the Salt River on Central Ave. After our morning weed pull, we gather again to a morning meal served by a local micro biz. It is a great social time, starting in the green weed areas, continuing through the meal. We gathered at Manny's, November 9, 2025. The building and grounds crlebrate murals and South Phoenix muralists. The parking lot had a large exhibition of 4x8 panels showing artist works. Manny's is spacious. Inside, a waiting area with a table, sofas, pool table etc. Select art is displayed on the walls. I hear this is a primero gathering spot for valley low rider events, with the body and suspension art plus low rider imagery. The light rail is bringing new energy to South Phoenix. Manny's is part of that. The people living here up to six, or more, generations are expressing themselves in new, creative ways. Learn and grow.
