We made waitlist reservations and they were pretty close so seating was an issue but they are really, really busy at peak times. For the place itself, I believe it's an old church? The beer is great and they have one of those dome hockey games that I'm addicted to themed to the 1980 Olympic Game of USSR vs USA. LOVE IT! . Best food and atmosphere in town!

They do have a second floor dining area for large parties. English pub style. Food is relatively good. We are here 3 out of the 5 days we were in Lake Placid, mostly out of convenience. Service is okay, depending on who you get. They are super busy all the time and if your server isn't on point they will forget things. Their Ubu beer is the best beer there. The cranberry cider is pretty good as well. Shepards pie had very little meat/filling with a larger mashed potato ratio. Apple pie sounds great on paper but had little filling, leaving it super dry because it's baked as an individual personal pie. The whipped crème fraiche was delicious. Wings were nicely fried, crispy on outside and tender inside. Sourdough grilled cheese could've been better by using any other cheese besides Kraft singles. Clam chowder is superb. Beet salad was okay. Turkey burnt ends did not impress me and it's suppose to be their most popular dish. Chicken tenders were delicious. Fried fish was amazing! Huge piece of fish, served with tartar sauce and a side of incredible fries. Detroit style pizza is lackluster. The dough could've been cooked longer as it was underdone.

I sat on the back deck, overlooking Mirror Lake and it was beautiful, especially in the summer evening. Menu is simple Italian with all the normal, popular Italian dishes, nothing really unique, but plenty of delicious options. I started with their meatball appetizer - They were very nice! The order comes with two huge meatballs that are very tender and nicely seasoned. The sauce was slightly light in flavor and not as thick as I would have liked, but still pretty good. Their table bread they brought out with it came with a very tasty olive oil that was seasoned with garlic and herbs. The bread was served warmed, slightly toasted and was great. Next up was their basic starter salad - this was pretty nice too. Dressing was good and veggies were fresh. My entrée was their Rigatoni Ala Vodka - This was really good. The flavors were perfect and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Overall, I thought dinner was great. Service was excellent and attentive too. Definitely would return, especially if I could sit on that back deck!!

You can choose from bar seating, indoor tables, or outdoor spots with a perfect breeze. There's even a big street-side table that's ideal for bachelorette groups or larger parties. The whole space feels elevated, cozy, and a little magical. Drinks: The cocktail menu is insanely creative and the pours are generous. Their espresso martini is one of my all-time favorites... I stop in for one every single time I'm in Lake Placid. It's that good. Food: I think about this food at least once a week. The menu is built around shareable small plates, making it the perfect pre-dinner cocktail hour spot for your travel crew. Order a couple of drinks and a few bites while you take in the lake views before your dinner reservation. My personal must-orders: the charcuterie board and the mac and cheese. Unreal. Price: It's on the pricier side, but genuinely worth every penny. For the quality, the atmosphere, and those views? Not overpriced at all.

After approaching a waiter, he mistakenly assumed we were part of a 14 person group. After about 15 minutes, he called us to that large table. We immediately questioned it and asked where our reserved table was. Only then did he realize his mistake and told us our table had already been given to someone else. We never sat down. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to fix the situation. We were left standing in the middle of the restaurant with no guidance. The worst part was the bartender or server's behavior. She said that at some point we would be seated, but if we were not happy, we could come back another time. She said this smiling, with irony and disregard, as if delivering good news. She then went back to the bar smiling, ignoring us while repeatedly glancing at us, which felt dismissive and mocking. There was no manager present and no one took responsibility. No one explained what would happen next or showed any intention of correcting the mistake. We left and went to Peak 47, where we had the same prices, much better food, and truly professional service. The contrast could not have been clearer. Reservations clearly mean nothing here. Unprofessional staff, no accountability, and a complete lack of respect for customers. Avoid this restaurant.

I wish we came when it was cooler so that the fireplaces were lit. Something to note is that we ate really early (6 pm) so we were the second party seated and eating. You get a bread basket to start with. Our bread basket came with bread pieces similar to a French baguette as well as a cranberry walnut bread, which was a 10 out of 10. Another great thing is that they brought a good amount of butter so we didn't have to ask for more, which is rare. We ordered the Caesar salad, the Wagyu, flatiron, and the prime filet, and the crispy brussel sprouts. Cesar salad - meh. It was basic and nothing to write home about. Crispy Brussel sprouts - 10/10 would order again and again Wagyu flatiron - my mom loved this steak both the cut and how it was cooked. Came with mashed potatoes that were good and plain broccolini which was meh. It was literally plain. Prime filet - this was my meal and it was the worst steak I've ever ordered. Literally Texas Roadhouse or Black Angus is better. I ordered it medium well and it came out almost rare. On top of that my steak knife had an issue cutting through the steak. There were tendons in the steak it couldn't cut through. * as a side note. The house steak sauce that they serve is sweet so if you're looking for that tangy A1 steak sauce, it is not it. No, I didn't send it back and our waitress never came around and asked how the meal was. I am an avid steak lover, and this was the worst steak I've ever ordered, and it made me so disappointed in a restaurant that I was so excited to visit and eat at.

We were seated immediately, but then waited close to 10/15 minutes before our server acknowledged us, even though the table next to us seated after us was greeted first. It was our anniversary and we appreciated the complimentary champagne our server brought when she came to greet us. Our table was located next to large exterior glass doors, making it uncomfortably cold so when our server returned to take our order we asked if it would be possible to move to a table by the fire. Before we could even finish asking, she immediately shut the request down without offering to check with the hostess, stating the restaurant had a packed evening. At the time, the restaurant was very slow, and several fireside tables remained open even after we asked. We also watched another table request a move to a fireside table and be accommodated right away, which made the response to our request especially disappointing. There was additional confusion when the chef stopped by our table after we had ordered, mentioned a special menu, and asked if we were pescatarian. When I explained that I wasn't and that I had already ordered the salmon, it seemed he realized he was at the wrong table. He said he would return, but never did. The food was good, but not memorable enough to outweigh the rest. We would consider returning for the ambience alone, but the overall experience fell short.
