As a recent resident of Phoenix, I have heard a lot about the intensities of the summers here. I don't know what it is about me, but maybe the heat doesn't phase me as much. With that in mind, I braved the heat and stopped by Eldorado Park for a hour-long walk (hydration pack and sunscreen in tow). Located in Scottsdale, there's plenty of parking. The first thing that stands out is the size of the park. There's plenty of greenery, there are benches, there are picnic tables, there's a lake, there are playgrounds, there's disc golf, and more. Eldorado actually bleeds into another park so it takes quite a while if you're trying to explore it in its entirety. I wouldn't say Eldorado Park is the most picturesque park I've been to. Nor is it in the nicest part of town. But it did the job. There are so many hiking and walking opportunities in Phoenix. It was nice to try out a new spot. read more

I'm not sure of the history of this park or anything. I just know it was easy to find on the phone, and chill to use as we ate our lunch, and walked around in. Relatively clean, lots of parking available. A good break from the everyday. read more

Great playground for kids and plenty of fields for soccer or other sports. I've always felt very safe parking here, whether it's in the morning or around sunset. It's a great spot to park for a bike ride because you can head in either direction--towards Tempe or North Scottsdale--depending on your mood. I love biking this path because it's secluded with few intersections, making for a smooth, uninterrupted ride. You can bike alongside two different golf courses, and it's easy to connect to the canal as well. If you head north on the path, there's a grocery store along the way in case you need more drinks or a snack during your ride or run. It was a perfect day - not a cloud in the sky, not too hot, not too cold - it was a good day to take the baby out for a walk (well, a stroll in her case). We walked along the path around the pond. Because I've never been here before, I don't know if there are usually waterfowl but today it was only one lone crow perched next to the water. It was mid-morning on a Monday and the park was nearly empty except for a few runners and a couple of moms pushing their little ones in strollers. We got to the playground and were very happy to see that there were two sections - one for little kids and one for the older kids. Our little one enjoyed walking around the platforms and peering through the bars. She liked the little slide and insisted on going up instead of down. What would a playground be without swings? In addition to regular swings, there were two baby swings. (Caution, the swings are black rubber and I imagine are too hot to use during the day in the summer). The surface of the playground is coarse sand. The walking trail is concrete and there is plenty of grass to set out a picnic or to just hang out under the shade of the trees. Eldorado Park was a great place to spend our morning. read more

it was nice, clean park. it's a good day today (10/19/24) the other half was closed for the repairs and irrigation. the ducks are also friendly like one of the ducks will gonna come for you cause they think you will give them food. trashcans are also visible everywhere. they also have bbq grill. The playground floor is sand so kids can make sand castle and when they fall it's not really a big impact for them. read more

I came here during the week around lunchtime. There were not many people here (100+ degrees out), but I was actually surprised to see a few others enjoying the park with me. There is a trail that runs along the stream and much of it is shaded. The park seems to be well maintained and clean. There's plenty of parking here as well (at least during the week). Nice quiet place to enjoy the outdoors. read more

Eldorado Park is a cool place to head for if you want to get a run in, or just spend a little time relaxing. Tip: Eldorado is surprisingly well-maintained for a public park I've run here several times, and I've never had a problem with an excessive number of other people getting under foot.  There's also lots of room here for dogs, and kids - there's even a nicely equipped play area. read more

I felt like I was away from the city, when I was actually in the middle of one. A city that has 216,000 (2019) people! Nestled in Scottsdale, East of Hayden and North of McDowell Roads 85257, lays Eldorado Park. In the parking lot we noticed signage that north was there is a community center, skateboard park, fishing, an aquatic center, soccer fields and playground. We decided to head south and spotted wildlife, grills, picnic areas, walking/biking paths for people and pets to keep busy. Along the water, we spotted ducks in the creek and traveled over a wooden bridge to follow the feather families alr as they swam. After a minute of strolling, we all stopped short as the creek came to a very shallow end, near the fountain. Some debris was floating on the water's surface but am told it is cleaned once a week. This day it was quiet, peaceful and the sun was out showing its spring best. read more

I often encounter a variety of wildlife during my morning walks. The park offers extensive trails that can stretch for miles, with convenient loop-back options for those not up for a long walk. It's important to be cautious of flooding during rainy days. Overall, the park is stunning and impeccably cared for. read more

Fairly good size Park. A few ball fields and there's even a skate park. The pool is definitely worth checking out in the summertime.

Wonderful El Dorado Park right next to our new place we're able to walk. It's walking distance. It has a clear trail for bikes. It has ultimate frisbee stations. There's a playground. There's plenty of shade. If you do get hot out in the sun and they have pond for fishing it's very nice. read more

Such a quiet serene place to read, eat, write and observe the birds. I stroll through the park and around the Coronado Golf course to check out all wildlife. Yesterday we saw a female Kingfisher and she is prettier than the male( unusual). Viewed a Ladder-back woodpecker, Blk phoebe, 2 killdeers, 6 + turtles, etc, etc. What a fun time we three had identifying G-d's beautiful creatures. read more

Really love this park. It has it all..fields, a stream, walking paths, playgrounds, a skate park, frisbee golf course, an olympic size pool, multiple picnic areas....lots of trees for shade. I take my dog here all the time. Never feels crowded. Park by the Boys and Girls Club and walk all the way down to Roosevelt; you won't be dissapointed. read more

There is so much to do here. My kids had a blast. There are two playgrounds that are DIFFERENT from each other. My 5 year old was literally screaming about the OTHER playground. My 9 year old played on his hover board in the skating rink. Lots of people out. There are man made lakes/streams with ducks and frogs. It goes on forever if you're walking or running. I used to live next to Eldorado Park and visited the park weekly with my German Shepherd. The park is full of amenities such as several playgrounds, fishing spots, baseball & softball fields, and even includes a skatepark. Eldorado Park also seamlessly merges into Vista Del Camino Park which gives you plenty of length for a nice run or bike ride. The park is fairly long, so I'd recommend using the app, Avem, to help you discover and find your favorite amenities. read more

Came here for a picnic on Sunday, and it was a perfect day! The weather was warm and windy, and the ramadas provided shade and a nice area to sit and eat. There was a duck laying her eggs in one of the planters but she left after a while, she might have gotten spooked by all the people, though we kept our distance. I walked around the lake several times and I saw some turtles, two babies and an adult. There are ducks and birds all around as well. Lots of people here enjoying the nice weather. read more

This is my favorite park in Scottsdale. It is located directly on the green belt and has plenty of room for activities. A great place to play a game of pickup anything. I like to throw the ball for Oena/oenster/Bonester/Oenabologna at the baseball fields. Gotta make sure the coppers aren't hanging around the parking lot, but a great place to throw the ball otherwise. read more

Nice local park, not as clean as the other local parks in Scottsdale. The people are very nice and the setting with basketball courts and walkways is nice. They have set the park up well. The only gripe I have is that there was more trash strewn around. Much more noticeable than the other parks I've visited. read more

I love this park. I have been there a number of times for picnics with different groups. We find the park clean and well maintained. There's a lake for "fishing," plenty of playground area for the children, green grass to sit or lay on as well as bathrooms. read more

I spend a lot of time here since I've lived off the Greenbelt for the last 2 years. This park is great!! I'm not sure people search for parks on yelp but if you do, don't pass up El Dorado. There are playgrounds, dog parks, soccer fields, cook out areas, disc golf, and walking/running trails. This park caters to everyone and it's typically pretty busy. I absolutely love exercising here and seeing tons of families and friends enjoying themselves. It's well kept and there are restrooms and water fountains along the trails as well :) it turns into El Camino park the further south you go down Hayden, just FYI! read more

Awesome place to play Disk golf in the spring/fall, I love it! It's a pretty place to walk around. You typically see a lot of joggers on the path throughout the day. I love to take the pups here, even when it's hot we bring snacks and have a picnic beneath the trees lol And if it's hot there's a really cook splash park for the kids, you press the activate button and it usually runs 5-10 minutes before you have to click it again. There's a ton of fish in the pond, which surprises me cause it just seems like they grow up in 2-feet-deep toxic waste. Be careful of the duck! I've seen them trying to attack dogs and they'll rip food right out of your hand! If you've never played disk golf before and you want to check it out, there's a disk golf shop walking distance where you can rent equipment too. read more

Love this park...so now I just need to think of where to start! It's quite large with lota of different areas and amenities. I love that it has a large capacity for lots of people. It never seems crowded nor does it seem strangle empty haha. There is a community center here and aquatic park that houses the Boys and Girls Club. There are two playgrounds and is for slightly older kiddos with lots of nets to climb and in a whole other area there is a large play area for the smaller kiddos with a separate area for the super littles. Love this! There is a lot of seating everywhere and many are covered. I love that there is a separated lane for biking and running, basketball court, golf area, lake and stream area and even an entire skate park! Many other parks in the area are and get sooooooo crowed this place is a little well kept secret (well maybe not anymore haha). Also, many of the spaces are for rent and we sometimes do this for special family events. They have always been super professional and the areas were ready and super clean. You get empty ready to go trash bins and can rent as big or small an area as you need. There are also grills throughout in case you wanna BBQ. read more

I love this park! It's well maintained and full of things to do. The boys and girls club and swimming pool are a huge plus as well as many classes offered at Recreation center.From basketball and volleyball to barbecues with covered shelters. The lakes are stocked for fishing and staff keep grass mowed and brush removed. Playgrounds are clean with plenty of access to washrooms and water fountains. The staff are always friendly and they are always keeping garbage cans clean. I love the different birds and trails especially thru the well lit paths in the evening. Biking and scooters and skateboarders ' park make every wheeler happy. My favorite is the events they have like the fall festival. Best park in Scottsdale, ride your bike forever and never tire. Ducks everywhere, freeze bee games and all.

Great little park, very family friendly. Could use a few more sets for little children and better lighting but during the day great place to have a picnic, and many families do. The baseball fields host adult softball and kickball leagues ( I was on one that one the city of Scottsdale). Very clean and safe feeling and I haved lived nearby for nearly a decade. Could perhaps use more facilities but other than a stroll or my ride along the Greenbelt I don't make great use of the park myself. read more

El Dorado Park has something for everyone. It's a fun neighborhood park with plenty of green space. There are several shaded picnic spots, skate park, golf course, frisbee golf, basketball course, and two playgrounds. The city just finished remodeling to smaller playground near the Recreation center and it is much better. The city is also improving the area and entry to the park between McDowell Rd and Thomas Rd. The walk/bike paths are always well maintained and bustling with traffic. Sometimes you need to watch out for the geese monters cause they think they own the place. If you need to fine tune your casting skills, there is a stocked lake near by, but you do need to have a fishing permit. read more

Swampy and fetid. Paths are falling apart, asphalt in parking areas is crumbling, place seriously reeks (maybe it's the goose poop, although I'm baffled why waterfowl linger here where people aren't allowed to feed them--it's apparently a misdemeanor in Scottsdale). Spent a couple afternoons there hunting for Pokemon and I'm happy to move on to another park. In all fairness, the place clearly flooded recently, so there's mud everywhere and maybe that's a factor in the smell. read more
