This facility was a good place for rehab when I was there in 2015 for a broken knee. I was there…read moreagain in 2022 and it had gone downhill but was ok. Now I would not recommend staying there for over a week or two. Although the staff are nice, they are overloaded with patients and can have 9 patients at a time. The food is barely tolerable and they make mistakes with orders. If you need water it can take close to an hour before you get it. The PT/OT staff are the only good thing about this facility. The nurses are nice too but too busy to tend to the patients except for giving meds. I would rate this place about 2.4/5.

Their positive attitude and commitment to patient care was evident. The nurse, Mathew was always willing to go the extra mile and his dedication was truly inspiring, Dr. John's and Nursing Manager, Therese's passion and understanding of our pain, Charu and Marie's, the PT and OT's willingness to work with him, social worker, Meagan's guidance and patience, Heather, the nursing assistant becoming his buddy, all of the reception desk staff (Unfortunately only remember Monica's name) made his long stay there possible. I do not know the names of all who helped him, but both my husband and I are grateful to Stern Rehab Facility as a whole.

I cannot share enough kind words about Ozanam Hall of Queens NY. After a recent stroke and a twelve…read moreday hospital stay, my dad went to Ozanam for rehabilitative services. My family didn't place dad there blindly, it was by choice, after weighing all the options. We have a family member who is a long term resident there currently as well as a long time family friend who is there too. They love the care they receive and the staffers they receive it from. Their recommendations were well received. From the moment I entered the front door and was greeted by the front desk attendant Lana, I knew dad was in a great, loving, caring and Holy place. I went up to dad's floor, was greeted by every staff member I passed. Not just on my first visit, but every visit. No matter how busy they were, every single person said hello. As time went on, those greetings were by name. It truly felt like dad was being cared for by loving family. My visits only lasted a week or so as I live about 700 miles away, but my experience and my opinions of my dad's treatment are fact based. He could not have received better care anywhere else. The facility was spotless, well maintained and the staff all love why they do. It takes a special kind of person to do this work. Ozanam is blessed with the best. Ozanam is even updating the rooms one floor at a time. It's nice to see the investment back into the facilities. The office staff was extremely helpful, kind and very communicative. They assisted in every way possible, making the daunting logistics of dealing with the insurance companies a less daunting part of the experience. I could not ask for better! I'd like to name everyone I met there who cared for me dad and assisted my family throughout, but I would have to name every person in the public eye as well as everyone behind the scenes there. By God's plan, my dad, Donald B. declined due to advancing medical conditions. He received great personal care and was treated with dignity up to and beyond when he took his final breath. He passed on Sept 22, peacefully in his sleep. The staffers who knew him were as sad as we are. Thank you to everyone at Ozanam Hall of Queens for all you do for every person in your care every day. May continue to God bless you all. Please keep doing what you do!!! You all are absolutely incredible. Rest easy dad! God's got you!

Summer 2022: My mom…read morespent 53 days of the summer as a patient of 4South. She was sent to the ER from her neurologist because there were so many things that could've been wrong. The ER ended up overcrowded and all visitors were forced to leave and it was poor communication in trying to get an update. It was near impossible to get ahold of the nurse assigned to her care in the ER at that time(and because she was so disabled, she could not use her phone so calling the ER was the only mode of contact). My mom was in the ER for a long time and because of her disability was able to get fed a jello and applesauce. When she was moved to an impatient room, Dr. Wang was the overseeing primary doctor and he was very compassionate about the nerve pain she was having and first tried her on Motrin and when that was unsuccessful, within a day he prescribed her a painkiller that he continued to renew through most of the stay. It took about 10-12 days to diagnose her rare condition. Dr. Cary Buckner, the neurologist on her case was excellent in his care, explanations, and even reaching out to me allowing me to be involved in her care plan when I was not physically there at the hospital to be involved in the conversations. Dr. Buckner also wrote down relevant information and put it somewhere I could find it because she could not hold onto the papers herself. Dr. Buckner started her on a nerve pain medication which helped and increased the dose as tolerated and checked in to make sure there were no adverse side effects and was thorough with his physical exams. Rheumatology was brought in and after determining the diagnosis a treatment plan was formulated. The puree diet was not good but once she was approved for solid foods(had to pass a swallowing test since she was having swallowing/neck issues), the food improved substantially. Surprisingly the food not only had a decent variety even being on the DASH diet and was able to get a nice quantity of food at each meal and most of it was very good to restaurant quality(as opposed to "typical hospital food"). Through the hospital stay most of the nurses were outstanding and would like to especially commend from the night shift: Diamani "Dia", Chinazam "Kam", and Aviva and from the day shift Alexandra. PCA Maryse was excellent both in taking blood(which was almost a daily occurrence) as well as making sure my mom was taken care of continence-wise and seeing if extra blankets/sheets was needed for either of us(since I stayed the night with her most nights) and went above and beyond. PCA Velta was excellent in giving a thorough spongebath and listened to where she couldn't be touched due to her nerve pain. However given that my mom's hands did not work at all, there was a poor communication that she needed to be fully fed all of her meals and Velta was the only PCA that did not need to be told this. The staff just seems egregiously understaffed(or an overwhelming patient to nurse and especially PCA ratio) and at times especially at night the call response time was poor or someone would just come in and cancel the bell without checking in. At discharge, things took a downward spiral. The social work department was pitiful and only sees patients as a number(something the social worker as much as said to my mom) and she was not given the ability to be involved in her discharge plan and was forced to a rehabilitation center and the social worker submitted approval request to her insurance company to a rehab that my mom had not approved of. My mom was told if she refused to go to the rehab they had selected for her, she would be given a 24 hour notice to vacate and felt like she was treated really poorly with no empathy and had no rights and was a very difficult time for her. If she did not follow the forced plan of rehab, she would not receive discharge papers with her outpatient instructions/plan. She was under the impression that she had a choice where to go post-discharge but she saw that was not the case and felt out of control.

Used to be one of the best hospitals. Now absolutely garbage. They do a ton of DEI hiring here…read more Compare this place to St Francis in Roslyn.

My experience working for FreedomCare changed drastically after the major layoffs in April 2025…read more Prior to that point, the company had a positive culture, strong teamwork, and a work environment that felt supportive and enjoyable. After the restructuring, however, the overall atmosphere and management approach shifted significantly. The new leadership introduced after the layoffs created challenges that deeply affected team morale and employee retention. Many concerns raised by staff about management style, communication issues, and team support were not meaningfully addressed, even when escalated to higher‑level leadership and HR. As a result, employees continued to resign month after month without any visible effort from the organization to understand or resolve the underlying issues. Another major concern was the inconsistency in work‑from‑home expectations. When I was hired, I was told I would only need to be in the office once every few months. After the layoffs, office requirements changed frequently, with some employees required to go in multiple times a week. Staffing decisions also impacted office coverage, which in turn placed additional pressure on U.S. representatives and created a risk of audit failures--issues that employees were then held responsible for. Overall, the environment became increasingly stressful and unpredictable, with little emphasis on employee well‑being or job satisfaction. While the company once offered a great experience, the changes following April 2025 made it difficult to remain motivated or supported. If you are seeking a stable work‑from‑home role within the CHC waiver/home care space, I recommend doing thorough research and considering whether the current structure at FreedomCare aligns with your expectations.

Brenda, I doubt you'll ever see this review, but you truly made the experience special. You were informative, welcoming, and made sure everyone understood exactly what to expect and where to go when the big day arrives. My partner and I were actually the only people on the tour who already had children, while everyone else were first-time moms and dads. It turned into such a nice experience because some of the other parents even came to us with questions or for advice whenever Brenda stepped away for a moment. It created a very supportive atmosphere. During the tour, we got to see the labor and delivery area, as well as the postpartum rooms. We also happened to see a new mom walking through the hallway with her newborn, which was such a sweet and special moment. Another nice touch was seeing the statistics for how many baby boys, baby girls, and twins had been delivered there this year. The tour was extremely informative and really helped ease any confusion about where to go and what to expect on delivery day. The hospital renovations also look great everything feels updated and well maintained.

I've came in here a few times on the weekends and the staff is great . The only reason I gave a 4 star versus a 5 is the WAIT TIME. I understand it's walk in but I don't think it's fair to the Doctor and the patients to wait longer than an hour with pediatric patients. I've seen the young lady in the front desk get yelled at because of the wait time and I commend her for being so professional and updating the patients in the waiting room on wait time. Overall as for staff AMAZING. But wait time ? One provider? Not cool .
