Want somebody that won't answer phone calls to the number on the card he gave you? Casey is your guy. Want somebody who will ignore questions you ask about your vehicle while it's in service? Casey is your guy. Nothing but excuses from him. I was about to trade in my Colorado and finance a 2026 Silverado WT from Elco, but he left such a bad tase in my mouth we will never be returning again. My wife and I drove an old minivan that had its transmission go out. We went to Elco Chevrolet in Ballwin to look at a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica that we had found online. It was a beautiful minivan with all of the bells and whistles, only 74k miles and was within our budget. After test driving it, we decided we wanted to buy it. We went into our sales rep's office (Rick Weinstein) where we signed the paperwork. While Rick was very nice, he kept on leaving during the process making us think he was not focused and we were not a priority. There were other sales consultant's sitting around doing nothing. After all of this, we drove off in our new car that my wife loved. Three days later the auto start/stop function had an alert on the dash that it was not working. We called Rick who agreed to let us bring it back to the shop for them to look at it. I got into the car to drive it to the dealership when the car would not start at all. I called Rick again and he asked me to jump it, which I did. The car was able to start and I headed towards the dealership. I called Rick and he asked that I stop at a batteries plus, have them replace the battery, and then he would reimburse me. I told him that I did not want to be responsible for this and his dealership should take care of it. After a while, the dealership said they had fixed the problem, which was the auto start/stop battery. I drove off hoping it was all behind me. After leaving the dealership, I took the car to a friend of mine that runs a car shop. He and his mechanics checked it out and gave it the all clear. I went up there to pick it up and when I went to start the car to leave the shop, it wouldn't start again. The mechanics were very confused and had to jump the car again to make it go. I called Rick and he again asked me to go switch the main battery at batteries plus. I told him that I didn't want do that and I wanted to bring it back to him for them to look at again. After taking a look, their mechanic called me and said the car started many times. I asked that they keep trying to recreate the issue. I did not hear from them again until late in the afternoon the next day. They said that they were unable to recreate the issue and didn't know what was wrong with the car. They made a couple of updates hoping that would work. I called Rick again asking to return the car. He informed me that they only do exchanges but I requested to talk to a manager. He said we could talk to a manager the next day. Mid-morning the next day, the manager, Eric, called me and said that they fixed the car, he stands behind the car and that they would only do the exchange. I kept asking to just return the car as we were both very unhappy with our experience and the next minivan we could afford was 2 years older with 50k more miles on it. He then told me that he had spent too much time on the phone with me and had to move on. This was after a 7 minute phone call. My wife and I spent the next few days torn on what to do. After seeking advice from many people who knew cars, we decided to go with the Honda. We signed the paperwork and took off in the Honda the same day. Overall, Rick was very nice to work with but the sales manager, Eric, was extremely rude. Spending thousands at your dealership should get people more than a broken record repeating himself and then cutting them off after nothing was resolved. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Being torn for almost two weeks on two vans that we did not want and now having a car payment for a van we don't like. We went from an old unreliable car with no car payment and then Elco stuck us with a choice, either a new unreliable car or a reliable car we didn't like, both with a car payment. Rick kept saying "You will be smiling at the end of this" and "I don't want to sell you a car, I want to sell you 10." All that got me was a call from officer woods from the ballwin police department saying I am not allowed on their property. He confirmed it was and was very helpful with the process and the information about the car. He told me about the car and its features. I had a great experience with Cody, and he took care of me. I purchased a Honda Civic from here today and it was the most painless car buying experience ever. They were so kind and very transparent. My sales associate was Lamarr and he really went above and beyond. He was extremely helpful and professional. I'll have to give it a little time to see if it really is as great as it seems but from what I've seen so far, the car is in incredible condition and they did everything they could to make sure I left with it in tip top shape. RUNNNNNNNN FROM THIS COLLISION CENTER!!!!!!! RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! Please refer to Yelp for honest reviews on this place. At least that's what I should've done. The Elco Chevrolet Cadillac Collision center kept my car for a total of 8 weeks. Before that I'd scheduled my appointment in July for end of August beginning of September. I communicated with them asking if they want to assess the damages, just incase they'd need to order parts and they told me no, Since my car was still drivable. I was patient enough to wait. The day I dropped my car off I explained to them that I was paying out of pocket for a rental car and that I would like to know how many days they'd need to get the job done. Kirt told me it'll be 12 to 13 days. I was okay with that. On the 13th day of my vehicle being in possession at Elco, I reached out to the repair shop to get an update. Before no one contacted me in regards to my car repairs. I was told by the receptionist Krista who is very snotty, impatient, that they had just found new damages on the 12th day and they'd needed to send over another insurance claim estimate and wait for an approval on the payment. She also stated that they couldn't order any new parts or finish working on my car being that my insurance company hadn't approved the second estimate. They'd sent estimates 5 times! Which took SO LONG!! WHO SENDS NEW ESTIMATES FIVE TIMES? At this point I grew very impatient with Elco and it's horrible unprofessional team. The first day that I spoke with Kirt he told me that they were going to assest the damages within the first three days. But no, they waited 13 days to even touch my vehicle. I wanted to know why they waited 13 days to send notice that my vehicle had more damages than the original assessment. No one had any answers. On week four I called and spoke with Kirt because no one seemed to know anything. Kirt was very impatient, he talked over me, and he lied about everything he claimed to know about my car. He basically was offended because I was asking questions! This place had my car for over 30 days and hadn't even reached out to communicate the status of my repairs or to explain anything to me about my car. I explained to rude Kirt that I shouldn't have had to call them for updates going into the third week and he was furious that how dare I be angry and upset about the company he works for being understaffed, low value, and having poor customer service. He argued and made Elco and it's team the VICTIMS. He said "there no way I can tell when your car will get done" he puts me on hold and comes back to the phone and says "it'll be ready next Wednesday" There I was two Wednesdays after and nothing! So, the 5th week of my car being in this place, I reached out to the manager Kyle. He was very nonchalant, careless and did not want to listen. Kyle basically dismissed me to get me off the phone, promised a call back with an update on my vehicle and I never heard from him after that. He was very unprofessional by not returning my call. I am the one spending money to keep him employed. It's not like my accident was a inconvenience to the shop, if anything it was a blessing. They charged me almost $8000 for a dent in my car. The sixth week had come and Kyle must've made the young lady Jordan speak with me. Which out of all the people there Jordan was pleasant and she was understanding! Unlike KIRT, KYLE and KRISTA!!!!! Having repairs with Elco Chevrolet Cadillac was very unsatisfactory and I wouldn't wish this anxious experience on my WORST ENEMY! MY CAR BATTERY DIED THE NEXT WEEK N ITS NEW WITH 17X miles on it! Had a bad service issue with them over the summer - too much to go into here and I am over it. Have been bombarded with emails/mailers/notes with sale and service offers and wanting to buy our used 2017 Traverse (which over the summer low balled us with a ridiculous number as a trade in). After all the hassle last summer asked them to kindly remove us from their marketing/mailer system.... Has yet to stop. Buyer beware.... ***WARNING**** ELCO Collision Center is a scam and blatantly lied. Luckily I documented everything. Was in an accident where I hit a deer at 65mph in the front. Lucky the auto brake system engaged. Insurance had the jeep towed to ELCO for repairs. 4 months and $20,200 later. I get to go pick it up finally. On my way they asked if I'd be interested having there sales people give an estimate just in case I want to sell it. Sure, why not. Get there so me all the paperwork and everything they fixed. Says everything is good and ready to go. Then they give me the estimate paperwork which they just got and it says engine issues/noises. Hmm I ask about that and they say they know nothing about it but it's not related. Well I bring it up to insurance and they said they've never heard anything about it and when they confronted the shop they would give a clear answer. After driving it for 2-3 days issues started coming up. Got insurance to agree to take it back. Now the shop said they had their expert(guy that owns a Jeep and works on them) test drive (said they drove it around the parking lot) and agreed there is an issues (could hear the noises with the window down and noise bouncing off buildings) but it's not from the wreck and that it's low on oil and a rocker issue is why. That much damage and they never looked at the engine?!? They said no issues at first, but luckily their sales department said different, then had to go back and forth with them and insurance then take it back before they finally admit there is issue. Yet they told insurance everything was fine originally and no comment on the other. But now they are experts angain and it can't be from the $20k wreck. Thank god for their sales department being better mechanics and finding it. Asked to have their sales department look at it again but got a no on that one. Long post. DO NOT go to Elco Chevrolet for service!! And, based on my experience and others, probably want to stay away from used vehicles from Elco as well. In 1 year, the vehicle I purchased has been in 5 times and a couple of those visits were for the same problem. Now, it needs to be serviced again for another issue that has come to our attention. We purchased an extended warranty from them, so we are forced to use their service department. Every time I have to deal with the service department, it is a nightmare... from having to schedule, to getting a loaner vehicle and then visiting the service department in person. When you walk in, the service advisors are much more interested in their phones and flirting with each other than they are in helping customers. I once stood at their counter for over 10 minutes without being helped and had to call their phone from my cell right in front of them to get their attention (true story)!! Stay Away. UPDATE - While the situation still has not been resolved, the one person that is doing their best to keep us satisfied is our salesman, Tim Theodore. Although it has been a year since the sale, he is the most concerned about making sure we are satisfied and getting our issues resolved. I bought a brand new car from them in November. In April during a rain storm the windshield began to leak at the top dripping water on to the dash and touch screen display. I called to setup an appointment for this to be fixed and they couldn't guarantee a loaner vehicle even though this was a warranty covered issue and GM was paying the bill. Absolute disaster from beginning to end. Very simple tasks to perform. Needed new door panel from delivery which was the only thing that was done correctly. needed tires balanced for vibration, asked them to find out why at every start I get the " im sorry im offline" nonsense and a blower motor issue. After 5 hours, and several excuses and the always popular "no problem found" on 2 of the issues I left and still had vibration, but that was the least of my issues. I lost lane assist, heads up display, adaptive cruise, they did not fill washer fluid, tire pressures were 15 psi off on all 6 tires. I had to go to KC so the trip was not ideal. 100k truck with no features thanks to slow moving mopes at this service dept. While on the road I called several times and the service manager would not get on the phone or return my request for a call back. That speaks volumes about a service dept. The CLOWN of service manager didnt have the courage to call a pissed off customer. I stopped in columbia to see if they could get me going. They said there were session issues. They corrected my issues and I was back on the road. ELCO sales staff great but service sucks! I should have known this the day I showed up to pick up my new truck they hadn't even started the PDI! *DO NOT* trust ELCO Service. I took my 2014 Silverado to have the Shark Fin Antenna repaired because it leaked. They happily took my $500 and said it was fixed. I did not drive the truck for a while because I had a take home car. But, after a rainstorm, I drove it and the leak was still there. I again took it to ELCO and they detected a leak. The mechanic asked Mike B. if the last tech put on sealant and Mike B. said he had. Then, Mike B. told me it would cost an additional $500 to fix the leak. I took the truck to another repair shop. They saw NO SEALANT and the ORIGINAL SHARK FIN. After the sealant was applied, no more issues. How dishonest can ELCO be. CAVAET EMPTOR: ELCO WILL LIE TO YOU! read more

I bought a Traverse on the 3/31/2020 and when it came back from the porter it had a dent and 2 dings. I have now taken it up 3 times and the 1st time they just covered up one of the dings with a door guard, the second time they painted over the ding and didn't fill it in so there was an indent, the 3rd time I was told they fixed it and I wouldn't notice it, they were wrong.They sold me a vehicle and their employee damaged it and it seems like they keep wanting to go go the cheapest route instead of fixing it properly. I have bought 3 vehicles from them and there will not be a 4th. At this point I'm done, I don't have the time to keep driving up there every day. My recommendation is go somewhere else there's many dealerships you can go to don't chose this one. I went with my dad because he is old and getting slower. I didn't want him being taken advantage of. He was set on buying a black Traverse which only a couple dealers had at the time. Salesman Murray Newton didn't even acknowledge any of my questions for 20 minutes straight, only paid attention to my dad. I had to ask louder "can you not hear me" and that he was "being disrespectful" for a response. ELCO is owned by Enterprise which he lied about and the dealership even locked their customer facing tablets to the generic windows desktop in the rental center. He is extremely disrespectful and dishonest and I do not even trust the dealer to change the oil in my Dad's car in the service center. EDIT: moments after posting these reviews after first trying to get answers from Murray Newton he has been harassing my Dad that this is fraud and going to affect his livelihood wanting the review taken down. I will take a polygraph to prove my statements. ELCO: Cease and desist, further harassment and manipulation of my father will result in legal action. My husband and I bought our new Suburban from Elco on 4/29. The experience started out a little rocky, but Ken Peterson (sales manager) stepped in and created an easy, hassle free process. He gave us time and space to figure out which vehicle would suit us best without trying to pressure us or up-sell. He was professional, courteous, and treated my family with the upmost respect. Even though there were some issues with the buying process in the beginning, the sales management team more than made up for it in the end. They gave us a great deal on our trade in and didn't try to bait and switch us with pricing or deals. Very honest, good work. We plan on driving this car for a long time, but should we be purchasing another vehicle in the near future, we will be definitely patronize Elco Chevy. read more

Purchased a used Ford here. Realized I didn't have the door unlock code before leaving the lot. Salesman told me they would try to get it from the previous owner. Later called with a code that was not valid. Failing to disclose that the door unlock code would not be provided with the vehicle was unethical in my opinion. Similar to not telling the buyer if there was only one key or some other known issue. I talked to a Ford dealer, they will extract the code from the computer for $90. Tried to overcharge to fix my A/C. Quoted $1300. Took to Dobbs and had it fixed in about 3 hours, for HALF the price Elco quoted. Actually under $600. On top of that, Elco charged my wife $179 to tell her it was the A/C condenser, a known problem for my 2015 Tahoe. They seemed offended when she declined theie service and stuck her with $179 bill for the 10 minute diagnosis. Sorry to say they lost a customer for sales and service after this. read more

When purchasing my Equinox in Jan 2021 we were told I had 4 free oil changes. This information would be in the computer. I have had 2 done with no issues aside from they are slow. Why have an appointment if they won't take care of your vehicle at the appointed time. 1:00 appointment, still here at 2:15. 2 weeks ago they changed their policy. Now you need a coupon. I picked up my 2017 Chevy Tahoe from Elco Chevrolet. Since then I have had every service done at this dealership. I have had three issues with the air conditioning. Two have been for the exact same part. I asked them if they could work with me on the repair of the air-conditioning since it was a repeat issue. During the purchase of my truck the salesperson was courteous and professional, but when it came to following up on two simple questions, both the sales person and used car manager fell woefully short. We didn't realize after the initial test drive that the truck had a "death wobble" due to suspension problems. I called the dealer and left two messages with no call back. Worst experience ever. My car is still in there service center. Had an appointment when I called for a warranty issue that states I have to bring it back to the dealership I bought it from unless it can't. I called up to schedule appointment. Lady who answered phone was very very rude. Told me no loaner vehicle was available. When I called it was Monday May 15th she said availability is Thursday @7am. I told her I had no way home. She told me that wasn't her problem. I said I live in wentzville where I was living when they sold me the car. She said nothing I can do on that. Do you want the appointment. I dropped car off Wednesday 5/17 after hours. So it was there by 7am Thursday 05/18. We got a phone call @ 1230 on the 18th just saying they didn't think they could look at it that day or the next day... what do you mean I had an appointment for 7am on that morning. They called back on Friday the 19th after I called and complained. Mike the service writer said oh it just got into the shop my guy is fixing it now as soon as I hear something I will call you. Good thing I wasn't waiting for MY CAR. Mike called back around 330pm on Friday and told me that the exhaust pipe that mounted to engine was bad and not covered under warranty. It is $500 I can have it here Monday. I told him I disagree with the warranty but I will deal with warranty company as the vehicle has been garaged since we bought it and only has 70,000 miles on it. Mike asked me if I wanted to replace the part. I said yes order it and I will deal with the warranty issue. Never heard anything back. So my wife called on Tuesday 5/30 to get update. Mike wasn't available will call back in about half hour. Several hours later he left a voicemail on my wife's phone saying they found a bunch of engine issues as well and the parts might be on there way or there at the location or somewhere but he didn't know. Weirdest voicemail we ever gotten. Now we are going on the third week and don't have any resolution. Never will I pass several Chevy places to see this one. I bought a car over the phone on Saturday morning because I live 30 miles away and I'd been to the dealership twice already. The salesman told me we had 'locked it down' and the car was mine and asked that I wait until Monday to pick it up so he could get the commission because he would be off work. I agreed to this and Monday morning came and I received a phone call from another salesman telling me they sold my car to someone else and I'm just out of luck. What a horrible experience from start to finish. I made 2 prior offers on this car at the dealership and both times I was walked out the door without even getting a counter offer. A few weeks later the car price was lowered on autotrader to only $500 more than my original offer. So I emailed them through autotrader reiterating my offer. A sales person called me and we closed the deal over the phone. For whatever reason their manager decided they don't want to sell the car for that much or to me and cancelled the order with me. I do not believe they really sold it because the car is still listed on autotrader for sale! This was a gift for my pregnant wife who is now very stressed out and upset for no reason. Buying a car is supposed to be a great experience and a happy time. These guys jerked me around then jerked the sale out from under me. Unacceptable guys, there is no excuse for this. read more

Here are the lowlights: - Called me to have the car dropped off before the parts were verified as received. - Tried to get me to sign a blank form promising to pay for the repairs in the event they had trouble getting payment from the leasing company (absolutely against their agreement with the leasing company). - Started the job before the parts were received such that I was not allowed to recover the vehicle (read between the lines...they racked up more rental fees) and use it until the parts arrived. - Insisted their contract with the leasing company required them to detail the car before returning it to me such that they kept it another day for that purpose. I dropped off the vehicle on Monday prior to 9am. I reached my point of maximum exasperation at about 2 pm on Thursday afternoon and declared that they damn well better have the vehicle ready for me to pick up by 8:30am on Friday. I arrived exactly on time and it was ready to go...except that later in the day I discovered that they had not bothered to Q/C their work because a major function of the component they replaced was not functioning. When I reached out to the leasing company to complain they asked me to hold while they got the shop on the phone. The recommended solution they advocated was that I would drop it off and wait at their location for them to fix the issue. When I pressed them for details on what they would be doing to fix the problem they admitted that they were going to take it over to another dealer for them to fix while I waited. Ummm...no! I was able to negotiate (through the leasing company) to simply take it to the other dealer myself and have them bill Elco for fixing their mistakes. The other dealer spent about a half-day troubleshooting before discovering that Elco had managed to screw up reconnecting an idiot-proof fitting. The thing only went together one way and all that was required to restore full functionality was to push the two pieces together until a click was heard. Apparently, that was a bit too technical for the guys at Elco. I've deliberately not yet disclosed the nature of the repairs for a reason. I would like you, dear reader, to fathom the depths of my disgust with Elco and I figured the best way to do that would be to keep you in suspense as to the severity of the damage I expected Elco's body shop to miraculously fix in just one week. They replaced the passenger side mirror. That's it. The fitting in question was the only electrical connection in the entire job and it enabled the turn signal embedded in the front of the mirror fairing to operate. Idiot-proof, maybe. Elco-proof, clearly not...and just that fast another half-day of my life disappeared needlessly. read more

Returned (unfortunately) to get my reinspection after replacing brake pads ($40 and 1 hour of dad help). Estimated time when I called the day before - 20-25 minutes. Actual time - 50 minutes. Don't worry. I didn't need to get to work or anything, as I mentioned when checking in. At least they dropped the attitude this time around. And minus 1,000 cool points for always having Fox News on the TV. read more

April 26th, 2014 I drove over 100 miles with the assurance that an advertised internet price was available on a 2014 vehicle that my wife wanted. I had discussed trade, confirmed the internet price prior to going there and even arranged for pre-approved financing. Thinking everything was all but signed. The morning prior to leaving my house, I again called the dealership and confirmed that the vehicle was still there and the internet pricing was accurate. The salesman even assured me that I would be more than happy with the "Elco Experience". Upon arrival the vehicle was ready for our test drive and my wife immediately fell in love with the options and color. I then had the salesman get their official appraisal of my 2003 Chevrolet Pickup. I had already learned it's value through NADA and also knew that I was willing to part with it for less because I didn't owe anything on it and my wife REALLY wanted the new Chevrolet. The salesman came back to where we were sitting with the appraisal and showed it to us. The difference between my truck and the new vehicle was $2000.00 OVER the advertised price! When I told the salesman that he had no excuse. He just kept asking what he needed to do to sell me the vehicle. At this point, I am insulted and demanded an apology. Is the typical consumer thought to be this ignorant? My wife and I promptly left the dealership and went to Jim Trenary Chevrolet in O'fallon, Mo. and bought the identical vehicle for $5000.00 less on our way home. These people are liars and frauds and use sinful tactics just to get you into their dealership and then they try to rob you. Oh and by-the-way, Jim Trenary Chevrolet also offered financing at more than 1.5% under what I was quoted from these thieves at Elco. In conclusion, I just want to say thank you for allowing me to experience the "Elco Experience". It has given Jim Trenary a loyal customer. read more

Okay, so I didn't end up buying a car from these guys, but seriously...they were awesome. Granted, it's his job, but my salesman went out of his way and bent over backwards to try to help me out. He seriously was awesome. The customer service here was impeccible, and nothing short of perfect. The only thing was, they really didn't have the best deal around, and it really made me feel bad when I ended up buying somewhere else after all my salesman did for me.
