We stayed over the 4th of July. The location was perfect for walking to the festival, fireworks, and the parade route goes right in front of the hotel. We walked the paved path right in front of the hotel to restaurant and coffee shop nearby. The pool was clean and refreshing. The hot tub was nice too. Our family used the outdoor patio area with picnic tables to have a cook out. It was a wonderful, affordable place to stay for our vacation with our children ages 17, 10, and 8.

They gate and lock off the common areas, pool, dining area, etc. If your toilet blows up or there is a plumbing/electrical or other problem too bad ... see you in the morning.

The decor is adorable.. rustic and northwoods themed.. so cute and inviting! We had a beautiful little deck/patio overlooking the lake and gorgeous pine trees. We relaxed our entire trip, playing cards, making cookies, watching movies, reclining by the fire, making hot chocolate, and enjoying the scenery and view. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant attached to the lodge/resort.. cant remember the name. The food was good! I had a wrap and onion rings.. the onion rings were perfect! We were the only ones in there besides two older men.. who we believe were talking about us (we were wearing chicago bears clothes.. in Wisconsin. . Oops!) I'm sorry to say that my last several visits here were not only disappointing but the last visit on July 7, 2024, has me never going back. On more than one occasion in recent past, we have had food cooked incorrectly. I kept coming back because I know there are few restaurants up north and I want to try to support the businesses. This was the last straw. One of the items we ordered was a hamburger, medium-rare. It came out very well-done, almost burned. We asked for another one. The waitress came out and told us that the kitchen refused to redo the dish. The waitress said she would just place another order take it out of her own money. She was crying. She also asked for us not to complain as she would get in trouble. Mind you, a similar thing happened to us over a year before, with a different waitress. Mistakes are made in any business. Dishes are over or undercooked but it is how the business deals with it, which makes the difference. I'm done with this place. I understand that after last winter, businesses are struggling but the customers are struggling too in this economy and are spending a lot of money to enjoy an evening out. If we are paying for a dinner, we should be able to get it cooked correctly.

Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. One thing, feedback wise, is maybe to put a door before the hallway where the rooms are. The voices echo in the lobby and we could hear them all the way down the hallway. A little thing, but we noticed it. We would definitely stay here again, it was delightful and a great find!!

First, we arrived at our cabin at 4 to check in. It was a HOT mess. The cleaners (when they finally came) were extremely apologetic as were the women working the office at Hillers, but the owners and managers were no where to be found and never called me when I had asked for some kind of a refund because we had to wait until 6:00 when our cabin was finished being clean. Second, we rented a pontoon which was great, but we rented it for three days. The first day it arrived by noon but were told that it would have normally arrived at 4 pm, but they only had a few pontoons to drop off. Really? Pay for three full days but don't get to use it for three full days? Rip off. Third, we paid for four days, and on the fourth day when we were supposed to check out, we had to be out by 8 am which was fine. Not great or reasonable since we paid for FOUR days, but we did it. There was a man sitting in a car watching as we finished packing up our car and left. As we left, he pulled up behind us and headed towards the cabin. Fourth, we were randomly charged after our stay. Apparently they've had many complaints about the mechanics who check in the boats that are rented charging patrons, but yet the owners haven't done anything to stop this. I am still waiting on a phone call from Mark or Nick also. We love going up north and have for decades but the experience with Hillers has made me never want to book with them again. Hopefully no one else has a similar experience.

We love this place, and it's always so hard to leave. Whether we are swimming in the sun, reading a book on the shady deck, kayaking on calm Little St. Germain Lake, sliding shuffleboard pucks, or playing cards on a rainy day, there is no place more tranquil or fun than Hiller's Pine Haven. As long as this gem of the Northwoods exists, we will carry on the annual family tradition.

She takes great care of the cabins and always has great suggestions when you ask her about anything local from food to activities. The property is great for walks and there's some horses and donkeys to check out too. Our dogs always feel at home on the ranch. We love to ride ATV trails and Spur of the Moment has trail access. You ride from your front door to anywhere you like in the area, no trailering. On our last trip we brought a side x side and all the great trails permitted our lager machine. All of the meals we ate out we did by riding our machines to and Ann supplied us with maps so we knew where we were going. The trail system has so many local and long distant places to go to it's good for beginners as well as veterans. Last thing that we've always enjoyed is the other guests. The Ranch is not only good to ATV'ers it's VERY horse friendly. On a busy weekend you can have all types of guests and on every trip we've done it's never mattered what you're into, people are just friendly. It's flat out relaxing.
