They call these rooms condos because they are owner owned and have kitchen supplies ie plates glasses and Silverware plus knives, sizzles, Pizza Cutter, wine/bottle Opener Etc. My husband had a dinner meeting so we picked up a pizza from Tastys Take and Bake in the early afternoon for me to eat later for dinner. We needed a room for one night. We had already been away from home a few days and were making our way back. I did not pack a swim suit so Rented a room with a jacuzzi. We visited the local Walmart where I was able to pick up some lovely scented epson salt for my achy body. I was kicking myself for not picking up paper plates and napkins at Walmart but was relieved when I saw plates and paper towel in the room. The room itself was comparable to many hotel rooms we stay in. But this one had an actual balcony with chairs facing the highway that runs a bridge between two bodies of water. Has a cute little fireplace but we didn't use it. Took me a bit to figure out the heating/cooling. The room was a bit warm when we checked in so we opened the balcony door to cool it down a bit. (It is Nov 2nd and highs in the low 30s). We like it cool when we sleep. We got to town a little after 11:30. After lunch and shopping I called a little after 1 pm to see if our room would be ready earlier than the 4 pm check in. Lucky for us it is the off season and our room was already ready! The price was cheap too for a jacuzzi king room. The clerk who answered the phone was friendly and welcoming. The location is great at the edge of town. It is a large hotel so if you want to use an elevator to haul your luggage in/out you may have to travel a bit. Otherwise you will be hauling it up or down stairs. We didn't stick around for the Complementary breakfast as we know of a great coffee shop in town that has excellent oatmeal etc. I have no idea what these rooms go do in high season but for $135 plus tax a night it was a comfort.

My sister stayed at the Pointe over Labor Day and highly recommended it, so we decided to take a quick weekend break here. I think all rooms have water views but I'd advise trying not to have rooms in the 20's as they front the highway and can be noisy. Our room was spacious, had a (fake) fireplace and a 2-person whirlpool tub. We also had a patio overlooking the water and a small kitchenette set up with a small fridge, microwave and toaster. Breakfast is included - it's a pretty basic spread but it's free. WiFi is free too, and worked well for us. The grounds are well kept, with fire pits, picnic areas and nice docks on the lake. There's also a pool in the main building. No bar/restaurant but there is plenty in easy walking distance - downtown Minocqua is just across the bridge. I was really impressed at how CLEAN and comfortable everything was. They're serious about Covid with enhanced cleaning, masks required in common areas and more. Staff was really friendly too. We will definitely stay here again.

We have been going to the Point every year for several years now with a large group. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience. The location right on the lake is just gorgeous. This year we found that our room was recently updated as well. I love sitting on the balcony and taking in the view.

Came to Minocqua very last minute and super late at night to be with my grandpa in the hospital and went to The Pointe at midnight to see if they had any rooms available, which they did. We got a two bedroom suite that had two bedrooms, one with two twins and the other with one queen. There were two full bathrooms, two balconies, a living/dining room area, and a full kitchen. The room was very clean and the décor was very country/rustic. The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and surely went above and beyond for us. Every day we were very up in the air on whether or not we needed to stay another night, and each day the staff delayed our checkout time for us and held the room in case we needed it. They were very reasonable and constantly asked us how my grandpa was doing. The service and staff members are what is driving the 5 stars behind this review. Overall, the breakfast was okay, but certainly didn't exceed my expectations, the hotel was very clean and accurately decorated, the view of the lake from the room and the dock was beautiful, the room was fairly priced, and the service was amazing! Definitely recommend.

This is our first trip to beautiful Minocqua! We chose this hotel through Hotels.com. So glad we did! Check in was a breeze. Helpful and friendly staff. They even let us go to our room two hours early! The room is spacious, with a terrific lake view. We used the pool, spa, and sauna. All are very large, and very clean!

We loved this placed, we had a great view, a roomy suite, breakfast was included, and it's located over looking the lake. The place was built in the late 80's and the décor kind of shows it but it still a very nice place. They have a nice pool, hot tub, work out room, and sauna. Our suite included a jetted tub for two, a balcony over looking the lake, an electric fireplace, and a full kitchen. The place is located just south of the bridge and one could walk to "Downtown" Minocqua if one chose to.

Amazing-we were Very pleasantly surprised at this relaxed peaceful retreat . QUIET and CLEAN is how I would describe this little place. The price was a lot less for the very immaculately clean resort and room. The staff is very helpful. We have stayed in other places over the years (and across lake 3 other times) and by day two was regretting all the years we skipped over The Pointe Hotel. Every other place over the years we have paid SO MUCH more for far less. We will be going back for sure! Yes, EVERY room faces the beautiful Minocqua Lake-ask to be on the first floor for quick beautiful access to the pathways. We're two school-teachers who desperately seek quiet places when we vacation and this fits our desire for peace, quiet and privacy.

Desk girl is rude. Must hate her job. I would recommend the best western as they have better customer service.

Every interaction with the woman at the front desk was terribly unwelcoming. What a sad frontline presence for such a wonderful hotel!

I thought it was pretty nice that, on the day before the stay, they sent me several text messages about how to get to our room: directions from the main desk, the combinations to the digital locks and how to use them, and they even sent me a picture of the room's door. The outside of the hotel looked clean and might have had a recent remodel. There was no professional landscaping, but I didn't expect to see any, either. It became clear immediately that those text messages were worth saving. There is a digital combination lock for the main door and the same combination for the door leading up to our room. There was no one at the main desk, which I thought was odd. Our room's door was missing the trim around it (I was told via text that the digital lock is new, so I assume that the whole door is new, too?). Our room was located on the second floor - the only room on the second floor. The only way to get there was to navigate the narrow hallway then climb some stairs that were slightly steeper than standard. Because we are retirees and my wife's knees have been surgically replaced, the steepness made it difficult to get to our room. When I got to the top of the stairs I could see that there is a non-zero probability of accidentally falling down the stairs as there is no door or gate at the top. Nevertheless, the room looked spacious and cozy. The bedroom was comfortable and well set up. It was roomy, had comfy chairs, a day beef in addition to the king bed, a coffee bar, and a TV which we didn't use. It looks like they spent most of their remodeling money on the bathroom. It's very nice and big (see pics). The bedroom's and hallway's carpeted areas don't feel like they're well-padded. Our picture window looks out over a lake with loads of lilypads and a deck. We got lucky and saw three deer (a doe and two fawns). If you don't like interacting with humans, you don't have to. We did online booking, got our keys (digital combinations) via text message, and left without seeing anyone. I wonder how long it would have taken to get assistance if we needed it. In sum, we would not stay at this motel in the future. For younger persons with good knees, this would be a good choice.

The lady with the shoulder length hair ( not the one with the short hair who worked overnight, she was really nice) stated someone should be in around 9am. By noon, I noticed nothing was cleared so I went back up to the desk. She stated they had no one to remove the snow from the sidewalks. There was at least a foot of snow and to drag luggage through it would have been a nightmare. So I asked if they had a shovel that I could borrow as my car was backed up to the patio to my room. She stated she did not have a shovel I could borrow, however, I could purchase a shovel and pointed to some shovels for sale near the door. Why would a water park sell shovels to people that rent their hotel suites? Anyway, I smiled and went back to my room. We stayed at the AmericInn because of the convenience to the downtown area and they accept dogs in certain rooms. The reason for the one-star rating is: our hotel room carpet was stained, damp feeling, and smelled bad. Our room #116 smelled like Fritos and dirty feet. The carpet throughout the entire hotel, especially on the stairs in the common areas, was dirt colored. We wore our shoes the entire time we were in our room, unless we were in the bed or showering. The whirlpool in our room was unsatisfactory. It looked old and creepy and was in the living room area. The reason we wanted the hotel room with the whirlpool is because we thought the bathroom would be larger, but it was so small that when my husband wanted to close the door to use the bathroom, he had to step into the tub to close the door. The view from our room was the parking lot. When I woke up, I had multiple bites on my legs and waist area. They cleaned only once in the five nights and six days I was there. I had to take my own garbage out, so my room didn't stink of old food. I won't stay here again, and probably never at another AmericInn, either.
