Most of the rooms have a small balcony that in the summer would be perfect for cocktails overlooking the beautiful tree line lake in your backyard. In the winter time, there's a whirlpool tub in the bedroom to look out over the snow, covered trees and beautiful winter wonderland while you soak the stress away. Because it's condos almost all the rooms have a small full kitchen, though it's not well stocked. Small conveniences like a vase for flowers would be helpful.

My husband had a dinner meeting so we picked up a pizza from Tastys Take and Bake in the early afternoon for me to eat later for dinner. We needed a room for one night. We had already been away from home a few days and were making our way back. I did not pack a swim suit so Rented a room with a jacuzzi. We visited the local Walmart where I was able to pick up some lovely scented epson salt for my achy body. I was kicking myself for not picking up paper plates and napkins at Walmart but was relieved when I saw plates and paper towel in the room. The room itself was comparable to many hotel rooms we stay in. But this one had an actual balcony with chairs facing the highway that runs a bridge between two bodies of water. Has a cute little fireplace but we didn't use it. Took me a bit to figure out the heating/cooling. The room was a bit warm when we checked in so we opened the balcony door to cool it down a bit. (It is Nov 2nd and highs in the low 30s). We like it cool when we sleep. We got to town a little after 11:30. After lunch and shopping I called a little after 1 pm to see if our room would be ready earlier than the 4 pm check in. Lucky for us it is the off season and our room was already ready! The price was cheap too for a jacuzzi king room. The clerk who answered the phone was friendly and welcoming. The location is great at the edge of town. It is a large hotel so if you want to use an elevator to haul your luggage in/out you may have to travel a bit. Otherwise you will be hauling it up or down stairs. We didn't stick around for the Complementary breakfast as we know of a great coffee shop in town that has excellent oatmeal etc. I have no idea what these rooms go do in high season but for $135 plus tax a night it was a comfort.

I thought it was pretty nice that, on the day before the stay, they sent me several text messages about how to get to our room: directions from the main desk, the combinations to the digital locks and how to use them, and they even sent me a picture of the room's door. The outside of the hotel looked clean and might have had a recent remodel. There was no professional landscaping, but I didn't expect to see any, either. It became clear immediately that those text messages were worth saving. There is a digital combination lock for the main door and the same combination for the door leading up to our room. There was no one at the main desk, which I thought was odd. Our room's door was missing the trim around it (I was told via text that the digital lock is new, so I assume that the whole door is new, too?). Our room was located on the second floor - the only room on the second floor. The only way to get there was to navigate the narrow hallway then climb some stairs that were slightly steeper than standard. Because we are retirees and my wife's knees have been surgically replaced, the steepness made it difficult to get to our room. When I got to the top of the stairs I could see that there is a non-zero probability of accidentally falling down the stairs as there is no door or gate at the top. Nevertheless, the room looked spacious and cozy. The bedroom was comfortable and well set up. It was roomy, had comfy chairs, a day beef in addition to the king bed, a coffee bar, and a TV which we didn't use. It looks like they spent most of their remodeling money on the bathroom. It's very nice and big (see pics). The bedroom's and hallway's carpeted areas don't feel like they're well-padded. Our picture window looks out over a lake with loads of lilypads and a deck. We got lucky and saw three deer (a doe and two fawns). If you don't like interacting with humans, you don't have to. We did online booking, got our keys (digital combinations) via text message, and left without seeing anyone. I wonder how long it would have taken to get assistance if we needed it. In sum, we would not stay at this motel in the future. For younger persons with good knees, this would be a good choice.

I like that north woods look a lot. There's a child's pool, a hot water pool, and an indoor/outdoor pool. So much fun! The arcade has every type of game for teens and adults as well as little car rides for kids. I use a walker and had a handicap room with a walk in shower which was fantastic. I wish they had provided a bathtub chair, but it was still a great shower. The beds are very comfortable ( but if you have bad knees they are a little high off the floor. I found myself throwing myself into the bed). The Cost was as expected and the staff is nice but there's usually only one person on the front desk, which means you may have to wait awhile for them. All in all we keep coming back because it just a great easy place to stay in Minocqua.

The water is slimy. The lifeguards don't speak any English. This facility does NOT care about who they hire. Second day, the whole POOL smelled like PROPANE GAS. The girl lifeguard brought up how her eyes burn so bad from the gas. MULTIPLE families came up to me asking if their lungs burn and smell this propane gas. I brought it up kindly to the front desk, Roxanne, she threw her hands up in the air, and said the lifeguards are supposed to take care of it. SHE TRIED CALLING THE LIFEGUARDS ON THE WALKY TALKY, nobody answered 4x! She was pissed that I even brought it up. The worst part? The lifeguard manager, some dude with a braid, comes up and tells me it's from the outside grills propane... then he said it's from the Canadian smoke. June last year, the same issue happened to another family, propane gas smell in the pool. HE PROCEEDS TO TELL ME, what do you want me to do?! Shut the whole pool down?!? And he walks AWAY mid conversation. He couldn't even tell me what the smell was, never tested anything, it was so TOXIC. The woman bartender manager listened and she said "just don't swim if it bothers you" HELLO?!? I paid for 2 days to stay here. Wouldn't you be upset if you paid two days and can't swim?! Mind you, there's a photo of the lifeguard manager guy with a braid, posted a year ago, sleeping on the job. They really don't care about this facility. There's no complimentary water at breakfast (she told me to use the sink) and it's all donuts and horrible choices. I would never stay here again. Worst service and I'll be contacting BBB. My poor kids lungs, ruined our night, and I wasn't offered any resolution. I feel super sick from that pool and will be taking higher action. This place needs to be shut down. Oh, and the water slides shredded both of my kids bathing suits into pieces. Both bottoms have huge holes from lack of proper remodeling. I only posted this review because of the toxic gas, the way I was treated. Never ever ever again.

For the price we paid, everything was very nice. The rooms were clean, the lobby area was a nice place to hang out, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. One great part about the location of this hotel is that you won't need to drive to downtown Minocqua, which eliminates the need to ever find parking. I was a little bummed about their exercise room...it's very small and has very minimal equipment (smaller than the average hotel.) But, unless you're coming all the way to Minocqua for a gym, this isn't much of a problem. We would stay here again!

We stayed at the AmericInn because of the convenience to the downtown area and they accept dogs in certain rooms. The reason for the one-star rating is: our hotel room carpet was stained, damp feeling, and smelled bad. Our room #116 smelled like Fritos and dirty feet. The carpet throughout the entire hotel, especially on the stairs in the common areas, was dirt colored. We wore our shoes the entire time we were in our room, unless we were in the bed or showering. The whirlpool in our room was unsatisfactory. It looked old and creepy and was in the living room area. The reason we wanted the hotel room with the whirlpool is because we thought the bathroom would be larger, but it was so small that when my husband wanted to close the door to use the bathroom, he had to step into the tub to close the door. The view from our room was the parking lot. When I woke up, I had multiple bites on my legs and waist area. Lastly, the receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and personable, and that was the only good part about my overall experience.

It has a small shop to purchase items (sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, jackets, etc.) Games are available to check out & DVD to rent for a small fee. In the 2-bedroom condo, the master bedroom had a king and the other bedroom 2 twin beds. The condo looked like it was newly updated. Condo close to the pool. Outdoors / Up North decor & nicely done & Clean. LOVED the gas fireplace. Flip the switch and flames and residual heat ... it was comfy toasty. Kitchen stove is a flat surface, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator / freezer. The kitchen is STOCKED with pots and pans. They could have had more dishes and utensils since I hate to run a dishwasher without a full load of dishes. The kitchen table and chairs are STURDY .... Very well built. The table can be opened up to expand the size of it. The bedding was soft, warm, cozy, mattress was good, and did not need any extra blankets. The only downside (especially for the bedrooms) is that there are only 1 or 2 lamps in the bedrooms. It was DARK in the rooms. We struggled to find things after we unpack (especially since we have black items ... coats, purses, wallets, phones, etc). There were dark corners and shadows. I wish there was at least a light fixture above in the ceiling (like a fan and light combo). This is the only 'bad' thing I can say about the condo. When you need lights in the room to see (for reading in the living area, bedroom to find things, etc.) there was NOT enough Bright Lights when you needed them!!! Pool is large, VERY clean, and 84° (aaahhh). Hot Tub 103° (extra aaahhh and relaxing). Adult only swim from 7:30am-8:30am. Pool towels are supplied -- BIG ones ... not small little ones. Be aware, there are steps to go down to the pool and no outdoor shoes which is a MUST because that dirt goes right in the pool. The pool is one floor below the 1st level. In the summer there is a patio deck to go out to the outside (closed for the winter for only emergency use ... that is understandable.) When you enter the pool on the 1stfloor, you are ABOVE the pool/hot tub. I have never seen this before, but it is pretty cool. There are tables & chairs for you to sit in the pool entrance area and loads of them down close to the pool itself. Pool and hot tub sparkling clean. Adult swim quiet but rest of the pool time it was crazy busy with families and kids (a bit noisy for our taste). Wonderful showers in the pool area - 1 large family changing / shower / bathroom & upper deck 2 showers and 3 individual private bathrooms. Did not try the dry sauna or the fitness center, but I saw treadmill, bike, etc. Restaurants - Would go back to each of these again, within price point, every liked what we ate. * Alexander's Pizza YUMMY had a supreme and it was good. Be aware VERY kid friendly and is noisy when there are a lot of children around - if you don't like the noise ... take it to go. * El Tarasco Mexican Restaurant - authentic Mexican, delicious. Busy when we got there but good service. Their chips and salsa brought to the table was awesome. * Minocqua Yacht Club (AKA The Yacht Club) - everyone had a sandwich or burger; tasty. The French fries were not steak fries, but not skinny. You could taste the potatoes in them. Good service. We went early around 5pm and beat the crowd. * T Murtaugh's Pub And Eatery - beautiful high ceilings and wood work and sitting area. We should have looked at the menu for Friday Fish. They only had haddock and cod. We are not fans of this type of fish. We tried and ordered anyway. Still don't like cod / haddock BUT the clam chowder is to die for VERY good. The rest was good too (potato salad / French fries / drinks). Spectrum was the provider for the TV. LOVED having a "guide" and easy to use. Had a DVD, VHS too. There was a vacuum cleaner, broom and dust pan in the hallway closet and can put a few coats in there too or luggage. The traffic, conversations in the hallway was not bad at all. It obviously got a bit noisy over the weekend due to New Year's Eve but not a problem. We came for relaxation and that is what we got.

You probably already know that this is the cheapest hotel in the area, so if you're reading this…read morereview, you're probably here to find out just how bad it is. The answer: not that bad. Yes, the pool was out-of-order when we were there, and the waffles taste like wet paper towels, and they somehow managed to run out of butter every morning by 8am, but the room was clean! The sheets were clean! The hallway was clean! What more do you want for this price? Surely the name "Quality Inn" is meant to be an ironic indication of what you can expect, like when a diner has a sign announcing "World's Best Cup of Coffee," you can be pretty sure it's awful. Speaking of which, Quality Inn has the world's best cup of coffee. Why the 5-star review? Because I was just looking for a clean bed for a good price, and I got it. I can't afford $300 a night to stay somewhere slightly better. So if it wasn't for this place, I'd be forced to check into one of those sketchy motels across the street that probably have hourly rates.

We totally understand additional rates and/or fees for pets but nowhere in the online booking process was there any option for pet rooms being available or an additional fee for pets. Room was clean but a few dead bugs in the bathroom. The security lock on the back door of the hotel was completely gone so anyone had access to the building. Lots of broken down equipment, old refrigerators, etc, sitting around the property outside. Would not likely stay here again.
