Always freshly made bagels and good breakfast bagel sandwiches! They will special make bagels like chocolate chip if you order in advance.

Showed up around 7:15 this morning to the place being closed, but the door was unlocked. I was able to walk in and they were still not ready even though the place was supposedly opened at 5 AM. Will not be going back. read more

Our school ordered bagels two times and told them to deliver by 7:15 am. The first time the driver said he had the wrong address and was driving to Canada and showed up at 8:00 am. The second time they came late again at 7:55 after telling them to be in school by 7:15 am so we could sell for breakfast. I had so many left over bagels. We were doing it as a fundraiser but we ended up losing money due to the bagels arriving late. We will never use them again. We are ordering from another company. The bagels were fresh and tasted good but the delivery is horrible. read more

First time coming here, I came in here with my husband 2 weeks ago around 12-1 and there was a lady FaceTiming on the phone when we walked in and she still kept talking to whoever it was. 90% of the bagels were sold out so we ordered our ham egg and cheese on the little options left. I told the woman I'm pregnant and asked if the ham would be cooked she said yes, and then a contractor came in to look at their equipment and she bounced back but spent more of her time with him. She came up to me and told me she would make fresh eggs for me im assuming bc I'm pregnant. It took probably 5x as long as it normally would for our sandwiches to be done bc she kept talking to the guy over making our food. We got home to eat the sandwiches and on both sandwiches was 1 single slice of ham.... And then my husband bit into his and immediately spit it back out. He said something tasted sour so I tried it and it was 100% his eggs. Which makes me think, why would she need to make only me fresh eggs? Because she knew the others were bad? He paid for a sandwich and couldn't even eat it bc she gave him sour rotten eggs. On top of that the bagels were super small and had no flavor. We will never ever return. Overly priced for what you get. Shame on you guys. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday morning since the bakery a few doors down was closed. Hardly had any bagels to choose from. Only one person there working, so the three people in front of me that ordered breakfast sandwiches ended up making me wait about 15 minutes just for a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Sign was up about SOUP OF THE DAY, so I asked about it. The girl working replied, "we never have soup, I don't know why that's up there. " Place seemed a little deserted, or like maybe a front for some illicit business. I don't know. Not welcoming, not inviting, bare shelves. read more

My google review from today! If I could give zero stars, I would!!! I had a truly awful experience at Elaine's Bagels today and will never return!!! I placed a simple order for three bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches. While the older woman behind the counter began preparing our food, my 11-year-old son pointed out that she wasn't wearing gloves. I let it slide, assuming she had washed her hands. Then I witnessed something so repulsive, I genuinely thought I was being pranked. She turned her back to us, took a swig directly from a plastic milk container, and then--shockingly--poured that same milk into the eggs she was about to cook for our sandwiches. I have never seen something so unsanitary happen in a restaurant before. When I asked her if that was our food and why she had just drunk from the container, she casually replied that she was "making sure it wasn't expired." I was stunned. I asked if she seriously thought that was an acceptable way to check milk, and she just looked at me with a blank, almost defiant stare. I told her it was absolutely disgusting and made it very clear we would never return. This kind of behavior is not only unsanitary but completely unacceptable for any food establishment!!!! If basic food safety isn't a priority here, I can't imagine what else goes on behind the scenes. Avoid this place at all costs!!!!! read more

I asked for 2 bagels to take home when I opened the bag one of the bagels side was raw, I took it back and asked for my money back the lady said no she would only give me another bagel. I didn't want another one because they are really are not very good. The lady was so rude I will never go again. read more

ALWAYS perfect bagels. The staff are friendly and nice, not the biggest fan of the cream cheese, but that's not your fault!

Ordered a blt and got bacon and mayo. I came back and she said that's how they make it there. Was nice enough to fix it for me but definitely keep in mind this is how a "blt" comes read more

great so yummy delicious best bagels wverrrrrrrrreree i love everything about it it completes my life

bagels always delicious and fresh, cozy atmosphere, really inexpensive. staff is friendly, but typically only 1 person working at a time - so maybe don't stop by if you're in a rush read more

The bagels are always amazing and fresh. The service is always great as well and fast for only one person.

I don't normally stop for bagels but lately I have had a taste for a good bagel instead of the bagged ones in the bread aisle at the grocery store. I came here and got 4 bagels and the kind woman who rang me up gave me two extra for free. I really enjoyed the bagels and will definitely be back again! Thank you! read more

Hard bagels for a fresh bagel. Flavor lacking also. Only thing decent seems to be the nice lady who rang me up.

I had them one time as a door dash and it was great. But every time I've tried since it's been a disaster. They open at 7 but never have bagels by the time they open. How does a bagel place open without bagels? Three separate times I've tried and I think I give up. Very disappointed. They don't even make the bagels on site. Where are they even coming from? Cause I'll go there! read more

I thought this place would be shut down by now. But alas, it survives like the cockroaches. Which I almost expected to see. The interior was very dark, dingy, outdated. Honestly it had a weird smell, moldy? The girl at the register was on her phone talking. Not on a business phone- her cell. She seemed annoyed she had to deal with me as, you know, one of those 'customer people'. Bagel was not toasted whatsoever, like bread. Very overpriced. They did not have honey walnut cream cheese even though I was there early. I am not kidding when I say I went to the restroom and there was a full set of makeup strewn on the counter. Just gross, gross, gross. I just wait now and go to respectable businesses and buy in bulk, freeze. So much trying to get a decent fresh bagel in this area. My guess to their only thread they hang on- lack of nearby choices. Very nasty attitudes and just all-around. Bye. read more

I normally get a lox bagel at jerseys. This place is cheaper, but I felt as if the bagel or something kind of hid the lox flavor. This place is decent. Wouldn't really come back for a lox bagel unless I was desperate. The lady who made my bagel was friendly. read more

Bagel quality was actually pretty good, but cleanliness and aseptic protocol was very poor. Handling money, then food, no plastic gloves, etc. Was a big turn off for me. read more

The lady working today was extremely rude, just sitting there on her phone until I said something and then acted like I was annoying her for no reason... the whole place was dirty and when I went to the bathroom, there was no toilet paper, no paper towel and a bunch of makeup on the sink like eyeliner, concealer etc. just sitting there. I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the place and the attitude of the worker read more

WE LOVE ELAINES!! My family and I have been getting Elaine's bagels since I was a kid ( at least 10 years). We love their selection of homemade bagels and they always are stocked with our favorites! The nice woman working is always attentive and ready to help! read more

Bagels were dry and somewhat stale. The store is dark and not very welcoming. There was a platter of mini cinnamon buns that I asked about but was told they were old, from the day before. Ok? Then why are they still sitting out? The kitchen area seemed dark and unused so who knows where the bagels were actually made. I think the convenience of this location (not much else in nearby area) is what brings people in, but I can't imagine they have any return business. read more

This morning I was starving and running late for a meeting and there it was Elaine's bagel Very dark low light I guess to hide the filth. Well I order a Onion bagel with lox's. cremes cheese and red onion along with tomato. I got it to go. Pulled up to my meeting and opened the wrapper much to my surprise taste like chicken smell like fish. the tomato was rotten. I bit into it ate half. and went to me meeting. I flagellated thru out the whole meeting a real stink fest . Elaine's should be closed ... eat at your own risk read more

I was looking forward to trying this place out as there was another Elaine's bagels I used to love to go to. Unfortunately it was really dirty and run down inside. Most items were out of stock and it looked like guests hadn't visited that store in quite some time. I honestly was rather concerned about getting food poisoning from there and considered throwing my food out rather than eating it. read more

I had the misfortune of purchasing 3 bagels from the Clinton Township location on Garfield last week. I understand that it was 11:30 am, but the bagels I purchased were as hard as hockey pucks. There were only 3 left and older lady who waited on me acted like she was doing me a favor by giving me 4 for price of 3. I had to wait 5 minutes for service as she was on the phone setting up a schedule with someone. This leads me to believe she was the manager. I will never visit this location again! Even after toasting 1 of the bagels when I got home, it was hard as a rock. From now on, I will stick to Big Apple Bagels where everything is fresh. read more

I just stopped in for the first time and I am so glad I did. I am eating the most delicious toasted egg bagel with scallion cream cheese! Bagel is real New York style -the best kind! Store is clean and cute. They had many different bagel flavors as well as cream cheese. Lady at counter was friendly & helpful. Hidden gem! read more

Poor customer service . Bagels were terrible . Not fully cooked and raw in the middle . I asked for Asiago cheese and was thrown in bag a melted chesdar bagel on top and then charged more for Asiago bagels Bagels we're not freah and way overpriced ! I am sticking with Panera and big apple bagels . Big apple bagels was closed down the road and thought I would try Elaine's . Never again ! read more

I go here for the lox bagel. It is the only place around that offers one. Not even "New York deli" places have lox. The bagels are fresh and I have always been satisfied with my lox sandwich. Today we went and they had tons of different bagels. So what if the store dim? I honestly don't see how that matters at a grab and go type place. The coffee is good and so are the bagels. I don't prefer my bagel toasted, so can't speak to that. The poor reviews seem a bit unfair. I wish this place was a bit closer to my house. I would be a weekly customer! read more

Best bagel shop in town.. girl working is so nice and polite.. i bought a lox bagel sandwich would reccomend if youre a salmon lover.. everything is fresh and great read more

I know I should just be happy that Elaine's bagels merely exists, because it's so hard to find decent bagels outside of NYC, but there were a few deal breakers that I just couldn't stomach: -The bagels tasted like bread. They do not taste like bagels. -The scallion cream cheese was not made with fresh scallion, it was made with dried chives. -Toasting a bagel should leave it toasted, not just lukewarm. For better bagels and more choices, I'd go to Big Apple Bagels instead. read more

This place is pure shit!! I got a plain bagel which tasted like I was eating cardboard. But not only it tasting like cardboard infested with COVID, it gave me explosive diarrhea for 3 days!!!! It was so bad that the walls of my bathroom was covered with shit and my kids thought I was dying!! My toilet was so messed up I needed to replace it! I will never return to this place because I do not want to have explosive diarrhea again!!! read more

Something told me to go to Kroger across the street from Elaine's and just get the ingredients for a lox bagel... But I was HUNGRY!! Decided to go to Elaine's and try out the "bagel w/lox" they've been advertising in their window. I should have listened to my instinct...walked in and the place was very dark and very empty. I was sooooooo hungry though. $6.90 later (plus $1 tip) I left with a bag and a big old appetite. Short story, took a bite...bagel was rock hard, dried out, and bland (I ordered the onion bagel). Now I'm really vexed. So I took another bite, and all of the ingredients started squishing out because I had to bite so hard into the bagel. I opened the bagel to discover wilted, brownish romaine lettuce, and a chunk of tomato that was also mushy and bland. So I'm starving, I took off the lettuce and tomato and continued to eat the bagel. Very bland, very stale bagel, very sad. Imagine how many lox bagels I could have made for $6.90 plus tip. At least 2 or 3. Never again. read more

Unfortunately there are not many god bagels places in the metro Detroit area. I would not recommend this one. It was so dark inside, I thought I got there when they were closing, but I guess that is just the lighting. They had a decent selection of bagels and cream cheese, but they were nothing spectacular. And the coffee area was disgustingly dirty. read more

Here's the thing, when I pulled up I couldn't even tell that the place was open. Upon entering it was dimly lit and quite dingy. The owner needs to re-evaluate what they want out of this business because it has such great potential being the only bagel place around that area. I actually went to Yelp to find the nearest bagel joint and I didn't want a Starbucks or Tim Hortons, I wanted a "real" bagel, you know? I ordered The Works bagel toasted with cream cheese and it was exactly what I wanted! I give 2 stars because the bagel itself would have been 3 stars and the business would be 1 star. If this owner wants to stay in biz they need to spruce up the place. read more

Bagels are always fresh. I like to get the cinnamon raisin with regular cream cheese. The place is a little dark but it's not as bad as I see most of the reviews say. It's pretty cheap compared to Tim Hortons or Starbucks. I'm not completely a fan of the coffee but the size of the cups are pretty generous. Employees seem to be nice and respectful with you needing time to decide on what you'd like to order. read more

This place has seriously gone downhill. There is not enough product stocked, bagels are picked over by 8am, there is no cream cheese in the case. Old stale products sitting on the counter from Kroger next door for days. They need to remodel and completely revamp this place. read more

Someone needs to clean the front door and windows very dirty. Need to sanitize tables and counter. Very nice help and good bagels.

The lady at the counter was so rude, like I was a burden to her by ordering food from the establishment. We ordered 6 bagels and a coffee. The bagels were dripping with cream cheese it was disgusting. The ones with butter we're soggy because of there was so much butter the bagels were basically sitting in a puddle. I'll go down the street to big apples from now on. read more
