Called here last week when staying in the area for a business meeting.
The restaurant was recommended by the hotel.
They were not wrong - its rare for me to be on my own when I stay away - usually I have a customer to entertain at night but this time just me.
I asked for a table at the back - out of the way so I could read my paper whist I ate.
Within a few seconds a selection of dips and a fresh papad was delivered to the table - with a little comment of "on the house sir". I didn't think I would ever find an Indian restaurant that still did that.
I didn't bother with a starter but did have a goan chicken curry which was similar to madras -not quite hot enough for me but that's a preference not a complaint.
Paired with keema rice, dhall and roti it made for a very nice meal - good portion size and very good quality and service.
A couple of pints and an Irish coffee , all for £29.00 I didn't think was bad.
Its not a huge place - probably about 40 covers so you might struggle at weekends without a booking.
The guys working the night I was there were good fun and obviously trying to make sure you enjoyed the visit.
I expect to be here again in the future. read more
