Started the morning off running some errands and was SO hungry and had no idea what to grab. Spontaneously came across El Zacatecano and NO REGRETS! Amazing service, amazing portions, and amazing food. We got the asada burrito and huevos con jamón, and the portions were INSANE. I left feeling super full and satisfied. Everything tasted so delicious, homemade, and just really homey. The breakfast especially reminded me of a traditional breakfast my grandma would make rice and beans, tortillas, chips, and all the comforting flavors that just hit the spot. The salsas were also really yummy and had just the right amount of spice. The prices were something we don't come across that often anymore, especially in LA! We paid $24 for two plates that could've easily been double that. We sat by the window, so it got a little warm, but honestly I can't complain because everything else was amazing. I also enjoyed the asada crispy shelled taco as well I didn't encounter any suspicious chewy meat! Their salsa are also delicious. Wanted something different and found this on a Yelp search. It's in a strip mall and shares a medium parking lot with the other businesses. Hopefully they fix it but their AC was dripping by the entrance (with no way to avoid it). It's a small, mom and pop shop with a salsa bar. The service was good and food is reasonably. The chilaquiles con carne and pozole were good, the burrito mojado was okay. There was a fly going around and no one bothered to kill it. It's a true family spot, and the husband-and-wife owners are there every day, with him cooking in the back and her running the front, both providing excellent service. You can't help but feel great supporting their business. It's a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall place, clean and simple, where the food does the talking and the prices are fair. The menu covers everything from chilaquiles at breakfast to burritos, crunchy tacos, carne asada, and much more! And it's all great! Don't skip the salsa bar. The salsas are fresh and properly spicy (plus milder options if you can't take the heat), and they take every dish up a notch. No cervezas here, but you can grab an ice-cold Mexican Coke (real cane sugar yum!) to wash it all down! Food was horrible and no flavor at all. The place is so disgusting all on the ground and the bathroom and work area was disgusting . There was way to much chairs there and can't move around. The child seat was so nasty and there was no A/C at all. As they cook the place gets super hot and on top of that one of the sauce smells old like they left it out. We order Pastor and Asada and both were really good! They packed us 2 different salsas, onion & cilantro, limes and threw in some free chips. Located in the same parking lot as 7-11, Elephant & Crane & Papa Bakery. Not a lot of parking here, but I did notice street parking available. There are a few tables available to dine in. You order up front and they will bring the food out to you if you are dining in. I ordered an asada burrito ($11). Waited about 5 minutes and the food was ready. I was asked if I wanted chips and I said yes. It's a pretty standard size burrito, so nothing extra to add there. Got home and noticed that I was not given any salsa for the burrito or chips. Although, the burrito was pretty good but slightly dry. Not dry enough that I will make a stink about. But, it would have been nice to have had salsa with it. The chips were made fresh and you can definitely taste that they just fried it. Also, no salsa came with it. Though, since it was just fried up, it tasted fine without the salsa. I will definitely be coming back for sure. One thing I did like is that the meat was finely chopped. The person that took my order was very nice. read more
