We just ordered this week, what a disappointment. Quality is down from just a few months, we where regular customers but not anymore. Flavor is off, only one salsa available, no grilled onions, etc. The pastor was so bland. Anyways, if you like real Mexican tacos try elsewhere. read more

El Volcan - I paid for the sour cream extra... sloppy - Food Trucks Near Me - Salinas, California

Gave this place 5 different chances... if it's not one thing, it's another! Slow service- the workers have no urgency even when there is 20+ people waiting. The food isn't given in order, someone who ordered after me will get their food before me even when your order is more simple than theirs. The cashier either can't hear or can't multitask, order is always missing something... come to find out it was never added to my order to begin with. The "homemade" tortillas aren't even cooked right... have gotten them raw from the center before or other times they will just snap in half and fall apart. Need to find me a better taco truck. read more

This place sucks ,been there twice and I have given them a chance. You order a burrito of your favorite meat and ask for extra meat and I pay for it,I get back to work....,..nothing but rice and beans not worth my 10 bucks I payed. If I wanted rice and beans I shit I'll go home. Waste of my lunch break. Never go back to that place... read more

Worst taco truck, went once 2 years ago and service and food was bad, decided to give it another try and it was still horrible. Ordered a California burrito which on description says it comes with meat, fries, cheese, rice, beans, sour cream, avocado and choice of salsa. Literally all we got was a tortilla wrapped in meat and fries. How is that even a Cali burrito, and to top it off $11!? They said it's Uber's fault but I work for Uber and they're the ones who put that as the description. No way Uber can put what's in their food. read more

Food is ok but service not too good. I ordered uber eats 1 burrito and 3 tacos. Only the burrito arrived. I called the place to let them know. After explaining to the lady she put me on hold for 10 minutes to take more orders. I hung up and called back. The lady scolded me and told me to reorder. read more

Excellent food great prices and open late!! They make their food with pride. I enjoy every time I eat here.

Good as always! Just found out they opened a taqueria in north Salinas! Can't wait to go!

So I just ordered a California burrito with Tripas and I asked for them extra crispy because in the past I have gotten food poisoning from this place specifically. But I absolutely love Tripas so I hoped they can cook it more, the lady said they don't do that, it's how they come. I still got it despite them not giving me my request and the Tripas were not cooked all the way, you can tell by looking at it. I don't think you want to eat here unless you want to get food poisoning or order something vegetarian. I called to complain and they said "it's how they come" they didn't offer to give me another burrito or cook it more. Remember "this is how they come" read more

Needed something fast and with a good portion. We saw this food truck on our way to the hotel since our baby was super fuzzy and needed to take a nap. Food was ok, wait time was more than I expected. The owner was working alone. The tortas were small and the description was inadequate. Over priced for the small portion I received. Great taste but it could be more. read more

Food used to be worth the money now they charge a lot and skimp you on the food. I went today and was a waste of $27. The "Philly Volcan" was litterally a piece of American cheese a tiny bit of meat and 3tiny onions for $9.50 thats ridiculous than $7 for "Volcan burger" that is flat as hell and my fries were $3.50 for a tiny bit of fries. I had ordered 8 tacos total and one quesadilla only cheese. $40 something dollars for it!! Not only that. My wife whom doesn't speak spanish, goes there to pick up the food and the girl working in the front was super rude to her. The little spanish that my wife knows she was able to handle her own when speaking it. Not fluent but understandable. Lady still acted rude towards my wife even after trying her hardest. Tacos ain't all that great. Service is crap and expensive. Last time we go pick up tacos there. read more

I should have just gone across the street to Taco Bell instead. This place was really hyped up to me. Claims of " they have the best tacos in town" " everything there is bomb" let me tell you they're not bomb, and they are not the best tacos in town. I got charged 20 dollars for 5 tacos at 1.60 a piece, 4 dollars for a cheese quesadilla, and 4 dollars for a bean and cheese burrito that totals 16.00 dollars so I guess 4 dollars in tax. Salsa no flavor, Asada I've had better. Only thing they had going for them was the Coca Cola in a bottle. If you want really good tacos keep driving down east Alisal and hit up jollyscience. read more

Never in my life did I think I'd eat from a taco truck. It's not that I'm snotty it's just my first thought is what's hiding inside that I can't see while they are making my food out of a mobile truck. This truck is pretty awesome as you can see everything that is happening inside. The food is delicious. The corn quesadillas are my favorite. They speak limited English and the only reason they don't get five stars is because of the location. This place is always busy so prepare to wait and there is no where to sit but it's worth the wait. read more

Presentation sucks, but dont let the look fool you like it did me. The tacos were pretty damn good. Skimpy on the meat but other than that. Fire. Quesadilla was ok i messed up and ordered a quesadilla with flower tortilla instead of corn since the corn is freshly made right in front of you. Maybe some roasted chiles onion and rabanos and more meat would have got them that extra star read more

I've given this place some many chances to make up for bad experiences. But I've decided that I won't be coming here anymore. The service is really bad, ask for extra lemons because I ordered multiple tacos for my family and we get sass and given the lemons in a rude way. I will continue to go to La Paloma which is only a few blocks away, where their tacos are much better and their champurrado is amazing but also, their service is great! This isn't the first time that I've had bad service at El Volcano but it will be my last. I also hate to mention that my tortillas were extremely undercooked to where my family and I were eating masa more than a warm tortilla. read more

The food was horrible! Do not eat here unless your drunk, then all things taste good to you.

The food was not good !! I went to their location on North Main st. It used to be El Gallo. The cashier took for ever to take orders I assumed it was the customer ordering a lot or just taking long . When it was my turn i ordered all tacos (not a difficult order to take.) She put in one by one in register so my receipt was super long then asked me how I wanted them served (I had told her while ordering ) then 35 minutes later I get my cold tacos. By the time I got home and opened what was supposed to be lunch for my family I just threw them away they looked like someone had liked and spit it out on the tortilla! And one of the orders just had a tortilla folded with nothing in it ! We are never going back to that place it is disgusting. read more

I went to the lonchera in Watsonville and honesty I go back hoping the next time is better but no. This will be my last time going for sure. The tortilla was half cooked, the salsa was spoiled and ruined one of my tacos. Orders 3 plates with 3 tacos each and we just got a small piece of lemon on each plate. So tacos with no lemon and salsa well no good. I can not recommend this place at all. read more

Very rude workers. I ordered a carne Assad quesadilla and they messed it up 2 times! First they gave me one with nothing in it, which is not what I payed for. Each time I asked for a new quesadilla and asked that they made it correctly since I had already payed for it. Each time they gave me attitude saying "it's better with no meat in it, just take it" and "I'm not gonna make you a new one I'll just add everything to this one" after arguing back and forth they finally made me a new one with everything on it and it gave me food poisoning for 3 days. El Volcan - Best Taco Truck Ever - Food Trucks Near Me - Salinas, California

Is no longer my favorite place when it comes to Tacos and going to a food truck. This place is loosing the great flavor of the Asada tacos and home made tortillas. Last night I ordered a Asada quesadilla with corn tortilla and the volcan hot dog. The quesadilla had almost nothing of meat?!!! The tortilla was very think and dry. I couldn't taste the Asada flavor and no taste in the tortillas. Before the tortilla would have a corn smell and freshness, not anymore! :( The hot dog was not well done, the bacon was chewy and stale. The salsa tasted like 2-3 days old and they just pour water on it to have enough for the night. I honestly now regret spending $16.50 on this two things. I'm very disappointed of this place. I always recommended this place to family and friends, but this will stop. I will start looking for another place to eat this kind of foods. read more

Bomb tacos! The best ones are the tripe tacos. The tripe they serve here is crispy and clean, very good quality of meat and the home made tortillas truly make it a wholesome taco. The price of the taco is a little steep but it is worth it! I've only come here late at night, but great service and good quality regardless of the time. Tips- Yes it is open till late at night, even on week days. -get the tripe! Tripa tacos are bombbbb read more
