I write this after a couple of days of being pissed. It was recommended by friends since forever and finally I came to visit. We wanted to sit and chose the upstairs section of the taqueria. Downstairs is a typical standing room only with tiny tables above the waist. Anyway, I do not know if that makes a difference with the quality of food but upstairs, they keep their meats in a buffet tray heated by a burner. Hence, the meat is UBER dry. Apparently for waiters it is too hard to walk down the stairs to get the food from the ladies in the kitchen. Second, servers are the worst! Forgot orders, never came to check on you, their way to treat customers is just dry, very un-Mexican. I've always been treated nicely in my motherland.
My theory is that this place has created this fame of being such a great place that people keep on coming out of tradition. Plus, they are right across from the Plaza Mexico. I truly believe they used to be great but they got sloppy and lazy. Never coming back, worse experience in Mexico City EVER read more
