The waiter was so friendly, he can take your order in English, French or Spanish. He explained some things that were not clear about the menu. We waited some time for the drinks to arrive but it wasn't that bad I guess. I have been waiting to eat here since a Mexican friend emphasized how authentic the food was! I ordered the quesadillas huitlacoche to start with a margarita tamarindo. The quesadillas were indeed amazing and it's my first time trying huitlacoche. It had an interesting taste to it. I got full eating this but after a second margarita, I got hungry again and got the Tacos Nortenos! The tacos made from corn flour were falling apart once it got moist so I found it very difficult to eat with my fingers, so I ended up using a fork and knife. I like my food on the spicy side so I asked for some hot sauce and they provided a home made one. It was strong and exactly what I needed. Would defo come back

You wait for half an hour to get the first drinks, the starters came relatively quickly (20 min later) than they forgot to take the order for the main dish, disappeared for 30 min, 45 min later when two of the three dishes were ready, the waitress informed us, that there was not enough fish for the third dish, another 20 min waiting... it was specially annoying as I had invited friends and had praised the restaurant... overall I had to go 4 times to look for the service, we got the (fortunately great!) dishes after hours of patience and the girl got two times the orders wrong bringing confounding drinks. Service standards in Belgium are low, but, this was the worse I have experienced since along time. The owner has to get the service trained and professional if not this will become a disaster which would be a pity as the cuisine is top.

Being American, I grew up eating a good amount of Mexican food (granted, American-Mexican). Since…read moremoving to Brussels, I've only tried Chi-Chis, which in my opinion, is a poor excuse for Mexican food! So when a friend told me about this place, I couldn't wait to try it! Located off of Louise, nice location (for me as I live not so far from this resto) but further from the center. Restaurant is definitely more upscale, not the usual kitchy restaurant decor I encounter at almost every Mexican place back in the US. To get down to business: the food was excellent! Just what I was hoping for! When you are in groups, I definitely recommend getting the Ponchitos, where you each get to eat a taco, fajita, quesadilla and burrito along with some great salas/sauces. If you like a kick make sure to try the hot sauce they give you in a tiny bowl (beware, that stuff is hot!). They can make this in a vegetarian version as well (thanks!), after eating all this I really was stuffed....now, price-wise, this was definitely more expensive than I'm used to paying (for wine and the ponchitos it came out to 35eur pp). They do give a bit of free bread with some salsa, but I was hoping for some tortilla chips with some salsa...the guacamole and chips was a bit pricey (8 eur) for a starter. Definitely worth a try if you like Mexican, I know I'll be back!

Probably the most authentic taco place in Brussels!…read more Honest and family-run Mexican restaurant with a small menu; order quick cause ingredients run out fast ;-). The staff is super friendly. We tried the tacos only and oh boi they were tasty. The only low side was the waiting time after ordering. But take the opportunity to taste some of the brewskies from Allende and chill a bit, no need to rush. A true Mexican experience!

We met up with the wife and a couple of her co-workers and were early for our reservation time, but it was no problem. We started off with drinks and they didn't have any Mexican beers other than Corona on tap. They had a few Belgian brewed Mexican themed beers, so I ordered one of these. The wife and I got the guacamole and refried beans as an app. She had been stoked for real Mexican tacos, so she got a plate of three mixed varieties. I order the Enchiladas Mole, as I had been looking forward to trying mole for the first time. It took a really long te for the food to come out, and when it did... What a disappointment. First off, it seems they don't have a kitchen? I don't know. It seemed like all the proteins were made ahead of time, as none were hot. The tacos were not really too good, as the wife let me have a taste. I asked my Mexican friend to taste the mole and he immediately replied, "That is not mole.". It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't what I was expecting. It was also cold. Lastly, they wouldn't split the check between the people at the table, which is their policy, but still, somewhat frustrating. Wouldn't go back.

I have been there with a friend and her 1,5 years old daughter. It is kid-friendly and the staff is very kind and attentive. We had a soup and a veggie burger and the little one had a quinoa salad. Everything was fresh and tasty! An the prices are more than fair! The burgers are on the small side, so get two or add a soup or small salad! Definitely a place where I will bring my vegan friends when they are visiting, since in Brussels sometimes restaurants don't really get the concept of being vegan ;)

First impression of Ami is generally positive - at 1pm it was almost completely full and the menu looked tempting. Given the demand for seats, we shared a table with another guy. While we ordered drinks (interesting choices) the guy waited to order, having arrived 5 minutess ahead of us. The staff were so busy that he was completely ignored, and discreetly gave up and walked out. Not a good start! Anyway, we went and ahead and ordered (shortly afterwards!) and were advised that the burgers will mini - i.e. better to order two at a time, or else combine it with soup. Good advice: they are delicious but are not a meal in themselves, even for lunch. My favourite was the Mexican-themed burger (I forget the name). Soup was some obscure vegetable which I decided to risk, and it turned out to be excellent - big thumbs up. Would definitely go back to try again - staff were very pleasant, but would maybe try and beat the lunchtime rush during the week.
