The food is of good quality and taste and unless busy, food comes out super fast. I have never had a bad meal and it's my go to choice out of all the other Mexican restaurants in Paris. I ordered a combo #20, the food was hot and presented well. The spices are lighter then normal but the mild salsa and Chile habanero hot sauce complement to experience. I'm actually super disappointed New Orleans doesn't have an El Vaquero now because I was super impressed! My husband brought me here since it's his favorite restaurant since he was a kid and I can see why! The decorations are cool, service is nice, and the food is our of this world! Seriously, I was super impressed by the breadth of the menu, and the food was even better! I ordered the fiesta dinner to try a little bit of everything, and it came with a chalupa, taco, tamale, enchilada, Chile relleno, rice and beans... It's a ton of food for around $10! My husband got the Dakota quesadilla brava which was full to the brim with grilled shrimp, steak, and chicken... And it was HUGE! By far probably the best quesadilla I have ever had. Very affordable and very delicious I was there today and got a taco salad and a burrito the sauce on the burrito was so so good this is now one of my favorite places to eat now in Paris TN and I'm probably going to go every Saturday for lunch :-) love this place. This place compared to el Vallarta up the street is so expensive and their food does not even compare to them we payed $42 for cheese dip and two chicken cheese and rices and the serving sizes were so small for those prices if your looking for a good Mexican food don't waste your time go to el Vallarta read more

I've been eating here quite a few times in the last couple weeks. I still think it's the better restaurant as far as Mexican restaurants in this town but I have to say I'm completely disappointed in the use of only queso cheese. I got a cheese, quesadilla, chicken and shrimp and it had the melted queso on there which you could hardly even tell was there so I asked for some shredded cheese in a small cup so I can add cheese to my cheese quesadilla chicken, shrimp and cheese and they brought me more queso cheese, it could've definitely used some cheddar cheese or Colby Jack, or something like that. It was just too much queso. It drowned it out that bland tasting just not good cheese, ha I think they could definitely improve upon that. What once again I still think they're better than the other Mexican restaurant I've said it before and I'll say it again you just have to except a lower standard of dining in Paris it's just not any place that really stands out. read more

WOW, I don't know what to say about this place... I moved away for 3 years and this place has seriously went down... This use to be the place to go.. The lines use to be out the door but now it is like crickets in there... The food is mediocre at best. The service is slow and seem distant... With Paris having so many mexican restaurants this place really needs to step up its game. They have the best patio out front that would be wonderful to sit on and have a margarita or 5. I am always surprised when I go to a small town and find some good food. El Vaquero did that. Typical Mexican food, but definitely had better guacamole than I have tasted at some of the other joints. I usually don't complain but the last 2 times I've ordered for pick up, my orders have been a mess. Missing food, order wrong and then when I took it back to ask about getting the correct order with the receipt showing where they messed up, they told me it wasn't feasible. It feels a bit generous to give this place a two-star review, but maybe I am being a bit harsh because I have tasted some good Mexican before. However, this place misses the mark on every point. The initial wait to even get acknowledge was almost ten minutes, even though there was someone at the desk that we said 'excuse me' to. We weren't starving though, so we weren't too peeved yet. Once seated, it was another ten minute wait for drink orders to be taken (but, it was slightly busy) and another ten-fifteen minutes until he came back with said drinks and salsa. The salsa was not epic, it tasted like generic out-of-the-jar salsa. We decided to order queso along with our order. It came in thimble-sized cup for roughly $4. It wasn't even great either. Once our food came, ages later, we were further unimpressed. The food was cold, and didn't taste good (we ordered enchiladas, tacos, and a burrito). Granted, the burrito size was huge, so it definitely was worth the money there. The waiter walked by our table several times, and I literally got up trying to get his attention and he ignored us both when we wanted refills and when we tried (for 30 minutes) to get our check. He was polite when he did actually come to our table, but he never once checked on us, and I had to ask someone else for a refill because he would not get me one after asking several times. I try not to be 'that guy', but there are much better places out there for a good enchilada. read more

Just ate some chicken taquitos. Soooooooooooo good and crunchy. I highly recommend this place for quality food and wonderful friendly service. The atmosphere is excellent with a beautiful fountain, colorful artwork on the wall, and pleasent mexican music radio. read more

The food was not very good and the wait staff was not very efficient. It was not worth the money that we paid for our party of three.

Over 45 minutes wait; stale chips; poor, poor service. Was on holiday, but still bad service.

Whatever. ..... Not true Mex food all covered with some kind of sauce yuk.....
