Two years of college later and I never stopped going to El Trigo. I have gone enough to say I have tried nearly everything on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. I remembered that I hadn't eaten here since just before the previous review and whatever happened or whatever led to the score no longer seems to apply, although (we now most of the time) ordered different items and kept it simple, it's clear that some improvements in the kitchen occurred. My wet burrito was filled with appropriate quantities each of freshly grilled carne asada, rice, and house beens that didn't feel heavy I also enjoyed the fresh salsa verde. The roasted tomatillos lent a twang to the mild seasoning. To kick it up I added the much spicier red salsa. Her carne asada tacos looked like any others at other places, however, the fresh, house-made corn tortillas are what sets El Trigo apart. Slightly thick and NOT prone to splitting down the middle, or necessitating a second tortilla to prevent that. I'm happy to return again, hopefully sooner than later. The camarones empanizados had a tasty batter and were served with warm tortillas.
