I loved the al pastor taco, the Meat and home-made tortilla were excellent! but I didn't like that they do not have salsa Verde or even a spicy salsa to compliment the taco (they claim to have a spicy salsa but it tastes spoiled and not spicy at all.. I like spicy!) I also ordered chilaquiles sencillo with red sauce, not my fave, it was bland and the beans that came with my plate were cold. Overall it was OK but I'd definitely come back for tacos and bring my own salsa! I got three tacos and a beer for less than $9. And they were some of the best tacos I've ever had. In Alaska, you'd barely get a beer for that much. This place is absolutely delicious. Their chips and salsa is always on point. Their burritos are wonderful and their carnitas are so nice and tender. If you have any customizations or add ons, make sure you repeat it several times because they can overlook it occasionally. Authentic delicious food. I love this spot, It does have its off days however, there are more better days than bad days. One time I got a dried out burrito. My other experiences were great and always bring me back to here. I usually get a Carne asada plate and it comes with beans and rice. I was a little hesitant to go to this place at first because of the location. However, going there was one of the best things I've done! This place is adorable on the insidr, even if the area outside looks a bit barren and run-down. The workers are wonderful and will help you with anything you need. They have lunch specials for the weekdays that are very reasonably priced. They serve breakfast all day long (I had the huevos rancheros with home-made Coen tortillas--so good and filling). My friend had the shrimp ceviche tostadas and he was very happy with them. They have a large list of juices and fruit waters--we had agua de jamica and horchata, both of which were wonderful. The experience was great, and the waitress was very attentive. They only give you one batch of free chips and salsa so be sure to budget your chipping! After our meal, we were paying the check and started talking to the woman paying our bill. My friend asked about what region of Mexico the cuisine was pulled from, and she so wonderfully answered and gave us the background on the place. I just ate here and loved it. It's in an area of town near lots of other good, authentic Mexican restaurants but it definitely holds its own. The decor is nice and the place is well lit. We didn't fit in at all but the woman serving us (actually, she seemed to be the only person running the front, but it's a small restaurant) was incredibly nice and even brought us an extra menu with translations. I guess they're not used to serving Asians...everyone else was definitely speaking Spanish. We had fish (grilled), pastor (really tasty), and buche (pork stomach--try it!) tacos, all of which were flavorful and well-spiced. The corn tortillas were thick and almost seemed handmade (I doubt they were, given the prices). We also had a Molcajete Mixto, which is kind of like fajita but with less emphasis on onion and with a ton of nopales (thin strips of young prickly pear cactus). Don't let the area fool you. Its not in the best neighborhood but you won't be disappointed. From the inside its clean and actually bigger than It looks from the outside. It has an older feel to it but never the less, clean. My dish was really good. I was pretty impressed since I had my doubts when we drove up. I ordered 1 sope with rice and beans. No need to order 2 because it is HUGE! And best of all, it's homemade! A lot of restaurants buy the sopes and fry it on a per order basis. Not here! It was very good. Both were really good and had great taste to them. Customer service- was okay...didn't get a refill on our water the whole time and even though we didn't need anything the waitress only came to our table to drop off our plates. Location- The area is a bit run down and it's in a sketchy location don't know if I would go there again in the night and the inside is kinda small.
