First surprise: tapas for 2,25€! I started salivating already. Well, hold your horses, because not only service wasn't good. Food was literally: Terrible. Yes, that was the case. I can't remember when was the last time I acknowledgedly sat a restaurant's table and left feeling I was cheated. To sum it up I'll say: Their Garlic Shrimps are the worst I've ever paid for. What proves how some people may not even care about flavor and quality anymore as long as it's cheap. And although this is quite sad, I can have peace of mind that there're many other neighborhood style bars in downtown Sevilla worth trying and repeating. We won't be coming back.

I ordered the paella tapa. It was mediocre, it tasted like it had been sitting on the stove all day or was reheated. But...it was a place to sit and I felt better after eating. I think this place might be geared towards feeding large tour groups. If you ate here, I'm sorry be aware that there are many better places. I will share my list of Sevilla favorites.

The meat was tender and flavorful, not too salty - and the savory sauce was infused with the deeper flavor of beef, just thick enough to coat the fries. The next tapas place I went to definitely didn't do this dish justice the way Levies did. I also had the tortilla de patatas with whiskey. The tortilla itself was cooked fresh and fluffy to eat - but the whiskey sauce tasted mostly like olive oil with a hint of sugar. And by sauce, I mean a small swimming pool. While I wasn't blown away by the other dishes I tried, I'd still say that this Is a solid place, especially because of the beef cheek, especially if you need a bite or two for lunch. Food arrived a bit late, otherwise this place was not bad.

Hopefully writing this review in English will help some of the yelp dependent travelers (like myself). The wine selection at El Pimiento is better than most of the places I have been in Sevilla and the wine is dirt cheap by US standards! In fact, the whole meal (4 tapas and 2 glasses of wine - enough to feed two adults who have been on their feet all day) was €21 before a not required 10% tip. Nobody really speaks english and half of the menu words did not pop up in Google translate, but everything that we ordered was perfect. Ceviche with lobster was blended perfectly in the vinegrette, the goat cheese bread and jam absolutely surpassed my expecations, and the pork and chicken dishes pushed this review to the 5 star mark. In short, El Pimiento is only 150 feet from the main touristy restaurants but is so much better than anything else I have found here thus far. I get on yelp to find food that is 20%+ better for 20% less cost, and this place fits the criteria!!

One of the best things I've eaten in Sevilla. Still hungry; we ordered the carpaccio de buey, served with a sprinkling of similar salt flakes and nueces, or nuts. The espinaca comes with a fried egg on top, which doesn't happen in most places offering espinaca, but I like it. The "menu del dia" is for those with an appetite. You are not likely to leave hungry based on what is included, "one glass of wine or beer, two servings from the menu choices, and desert or coffee for 8 euro."
