El Toro Mexican Grill - Mexican Near Me - Morristown, Tennessee

Disgusting. Inedible. When the soft drinks tasted bad with a weird aftertaste to it. Dr. Pepper should not smell like cleaning solvent. The birria was morning but fat, with a huge chunk of fat in floating the dipping broth. The beef was flavored with salt, and nothing else. The only thing good here was the service, and the establishment was clean. Our waiter was attentive, clean, well groomed, and deserves to work somewhere better. Poor guy. read more

Located in College Square Mall, we were not sure if the food would be great but it was! Nice clean restaurant, fair prices, good food, cold beer and good service. Who could ask for anything more? Very reasonably priced lunch menu and we tried the fajitas. Lots of food and very tasty. Waitstaff was excellent and we will be back! read more

Fantastic portions and flavor. The food was great, the margarita was tasty, and the portion sizes were great across the board. Would definitely recommend you check this place out. Only reason for the 4-star was the loud alarm sound that went off pretty frequently by the bar. read more

They gave us food poisoning! My daughter, my husband and I all got so sick just hours after eating there. It's been 5 days and my husband is still having issues. DO NOT EAT HERE. read more

I have been here several times. The service is quick and professional and it seems everyone that works there loves their job. My girlfriend and I love the Jalisco Especial with steak, shrimp and chicken. But this time we decided to split one order because the portions are very generous. We had a new server this time and I wish I could remember his name. He was younger, enthusiastic and on top of everything, so I tipped him 40%. read more

The food here is edible, not obviously spoiled, and the cheese enchilada was decent enough. But, in general, the food is flavorless. The beef tacos rank below Taco Bell and well below what you can make at home. Even if you use those flavor packets; they at least have some seasoning. I don't think they even used salt The chips for salsa are obviously store-bought, And not the good store bought chips either. Zero flavor. Service was decent until it came time to leave, and then we were abandoned. Will not return. read more

Definitely not up to par with other Mexican restaurants in town. The food doesn't seem fresh and the service isn't really all that personal. Nothing stands out and makes you think that you should come back more often. Overall, just average food and average service. Also, it's not the best location either as there's normally not enough parking since it is in the mall. read more

Meh. I was not very impressed with my experience. Imagine a small tortilla with 4 shrimp and vegetables with cheese. I was charged $8.99. This seems outrageous. Chips were stale and guacamole was left to be desired. Also this location wasn't wiping door handles and it seemed like no one was taking extra precautions. Extremely difficult to find--behind the mall. Sorry, this one doesn't cut it for me. read more

Very nice place, the staff is very friendly. Great portions served. Only problem was the beer could be colder. It is served about what the way you would expect in England. My only complaint is that. Otherwise I would rate a 5 star. read more

Great food and service! I usually get the fajitas and the food is always fresh!!! Great price as well

I had cheese quesadilla with rice and beans for a lunch price., I got for 13 bucks. ‍ My son got a beef burrito.. I tried it.. Taste nasty.. smells like dog food. Thank God., he Didnt eat it. Do better. Good bye. read more

Decided to eat here on Halloween after trick or treating through the mall. First time at this mall and first time eating at this place. We were all starving at 7:00 and the place looked packed, however we were seated immediately. Within 5 minutes we had chips and salsa which were solid and then a few minutes later we had our drinks ordered. The menu was huge with all of our favorite Mexican dishes. I got the chicken and steak fajitas which were only $8.99. My daughter got a soft taco and rice, my sister got some kind of chicken quesadilla, and her boyfriend got chicken, steak and shrimp. We were all blown away with how good it was. I ate every bite. Very tasty, flavorful and authentic. We even got the banana cheesecake desert which was also amazing. What's even more impressive, was our server Victor. Yes I had to ask him what his name was. He was so quick and efficient. He was literally running up and down the ailes to serve his tables. This place was packed too. He didn't want to keep them waiting. We were all amazed. Everyone working there was sweating and working hard. I caught Victor walking past us and shouted "YOU'RE A BEAST" which seemed to bring a smile to his face. The bill was $48 and I tipped $25. Could have left more. He stopped over and thanked me which I asked for his name then he gave my sister a thumbs up as we were leaving. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we don't have any Mexican places this good. When I visit Tennessee again I will certainly be back here. Again, try and get Victor. You won't be disappointed. After initially craving pizza this was probably our best decision in a long time. read more

Must admit--finding a place to eat a mall is pretty low on my list of things I want to do--however today we had to stop at College Place Mall and having a craving for Mexican, we decided to give El Toro a try. Pleasantly surprised by the menu and the different protein choices. My husband chose their cheese steaks...awesome quesadillas with grilled peppers, onions and beef along with a guacamole salad and queso. I decided on the pork chile verde....wow! The sauce was homemade, the meat was fork tender and SO flavorful! The rice was fabulous and I did not eat my tortillas, but observing the diners around me, looks like they were quite yummy. Server was very nice, stopped by enough without hovering or abandoning us until it was time for the check...I appreciate the right level of attentive. Comfy booths and adjustable tables...too often a fixed booth table feels like it is a mile away from me and I have to lean forward to eat. Not here...able to pull it right up to me! Two meals with drinks for 22$ and enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow? Yes, please! read more

Clean, friendly, food is at best bland, no seasoning, had hi hopes but left with disappointment

When one thinks of five stars it's often table cloths, mood lighting, etc., not a Mexican restaurant in a TN shopping mall. But this place is exceptionally good. Probably the best house margarita anywhere. The chunky guac was really good. Service was great. Highly recommended. read more

Wonderful, fun atmosphere! Stopped in with my hubby on his birthday and sat at the bar. Gabriel was our bartender and he was awesome! So friendly and fun! We only had drinks, with chips and salsa and white queso (which was delicious) but we can't wait to go back and try the entrees on the menu. read more

By far my favorite Mexican Food in all of morristown!!! I love there Guacamole and Cheese Dip!!!! They make a killer Margarita too!!!

The food was decent....the service.... No bueno!! They were very busy, and we got a table out on the patio pretty quickly. They must of been greatly understaffed, and though our server was friendly, and for the most part attentive, you could sorta tell he was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. First blunder... My meal, which was the vegetarian mushroom quesadilla, number 7. I even pointed to it on the menu when I ordered it. It came out first, but wasn't the right number 7. Which I don't understand that they have the same numbers for dishes, under different categories. It went back to the kitchen. We finally got all our meals, except for my boys, which was a simple single orders of a kids chicken nuggets and fries. We thought it was going to come right out, about 10 minutes pass, still no nugget meal. We told our waiter, he said he'd come right back with it. Another 10 minutes pass.... 20 minutes since we got our food, and my two young boys still haven't gotten theres. We tell them we want to speak to the manager. The manager comes to our table, no apologies, and when we explain the situation, and point out that's its unexceptional to make our children wait that long to eat, he cops an attitude, and gets defensive. He finally comes back with their meal, and it was deplorable. The fries were way too overcooked, and dry, where it hurt to chew them. Did the manager offer any explanation as to why we had to wait over 20 minutes for my son's food to come out..... No Did the manager attempt to apologize for their complete mess up... No Did the manager comp us the messed up order..... No Their only saving grace, and the reason I gave the 2 stars instead of 1 was that our meals tasted good. But, I don't care if their food is the best friggin' Mexican food in the whole world I won't be going back.... the manager needs a SERIOUS attitude adjustment. It's not how you should be treating your customers, ever. read more

I usually love this place. It's been a go-to spot for a few years but it seems like they've changed the staff around some and it's kind of lacking now. The last few times I've gone, the same young guy was our waiter and our orders were messed up. Maybe it's just that one server, I dunno. Also their prices have recently gone us slightly. For example, one quesadilla is over $4 , which isn't really worth it when you might not be brought the kind that you ordered anyway read more

We loved having Miguel as our server tonight the food was delicious and fast I give this restaurant 10 out of 10 and will definitely be back for more Mexican food is the absolute best in Morristown that I have had in months will be back again read more

Located by the mall so there it's plenty of parking. Restaurant entrance easily accessible. Nice ambience and clean restaurant. I enjoy the decor and feel of this place. Staff are friendly and attentive and overall revieved great service. The food and portions are pretty great. Delicious mexican food and enjoy dining here. Will be back again! read more

I absolutely love this place. I recommend it to anyone who wants good Mexican food. My wife and I have eaten here several times and the food it always excellent and the service it pretty reasonable. The only thing that I would change regarding this place is the alcohol. The majority of the time there are usually rude and obnoxious people who have been drinking way to much. I understand most places sells alcohol, but it can be annoying for those of us who don't partake in drinking. read more

We just finished eating dinner here with our 3 daughters...I was appalled by the foul language (in Spanish) coming from the kitchen and from other members of staff...we will not be coming back simply because of the lack of respect...while our daughter are "gringas" they certainly understood some of the words being said..... read more

Pretty good little Mexican place. Carnitas and chile rellenos were both good. Price was good and service was quick.

This is my second time here. I ordered two tacos and rice and beans. Tacos are good. My issue is with the speed of service. If you're in a hurry I suggest go some where else. Typical Mexican decor, has a bar. Everything I've seen thus far is clean, no issues there. While I try hard to be unbiased in my report, there are other local Mexican restaurants I'd go to first. This is just average. read more

Idk what happen to this place but it's went downhill. Menu got cut back the prices went up. Compared to some of the other authentic Mexican restaurants around Toro isn't that great. My fajitas never come out sizzling. Rice and beans are always served cold. Go check out another Mexican restaurant and you'll see what I'm talking about. Over all over priced, not as fresh as other Mexican restaurants. read more

El Toro Mexican Grill - What I got and ate! - Mexican Near Me - Morristown, Tennessee

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. They are very nice and the prices are very reasonable.

Sucks ass!!! We waited 1hr and 15 and they brought out the wrong food finally they brought out mine and it looked like pure puke! My wife didn't get hers so we just left and STILL MADE US PAY FOR THE DRINKS AND CHIPS TERRIBLE RESTAURANT!!! read more

I think business may be a little too good and perhaps they've found a way to empty out the dining room. They're playing some kind of "music" that I am sure is the worst, most annoying noise I've ever heard. It's some kind of Mexican rap/pop/dance/techno train wreck. I'm hoping they will change the music over to the sounds of fingernails on a chalkboard, because I'd MUCH MUCH rather Herat that than the God awful noise I'm hearing now. read more

I went in there several times before they moved and liked it okay. But, last time I went in there I was shopping at the mall and went in there by myself. I sat in there for an hour and they never brought my food out. All I ordered was a chimichanga. The waiter didn't even apologize. I told him I was leaving and he just looked at me. read more

One of my favorite restaurants! We eat here at least once a week! Fajitas are great, very flavorful and fresh. I really don't have any complaints about this restaurant. read more

So delicious, perfect location for travelers who are sick of fast food! I really enjoyed my fajita taco salad, they had kids menu items that my kids were happy with (nuggets for one and quesadilla for the other), husband had a taco lunch special- everything was perfect. The restaurant was clean and the waitress even played along with my husband teaching our four year old Spanish. I'd definitely go back! read more

Typical Mexican menu. Seating was quick, server was knowledgable of the menu items and options. Meal arrived in a decent amount of time. The Fajita was not as hot as I would have liked but it had a great flavor and there was god amount of chicken. Overall it is a good place to eat. read more

Definitely delicious, service was excellent and this was the best Mexican food I have had. Wish it was in Ohio! I had beef strips with queso and served with tortillas, rice and beans. It was fantastic. The kids had grilled chicken tacos, didn't actually see them on the menu but there was no issue in ordering them at all. Had a very good frozen margarita and queso cheese dip too. This place is worth the stop! read more

Food was Good. Service sucked. Took almost an hour to get our food and even then only half of our table got their food and the rest of us waited an additional 15 minutes. Server didn't even come back to bring us checks. Someone else did. Weird read more
