Quick spot for decent tacos and Mexican food in chapel hill! Appreciate it because there's not many other options, it's fast, place was clean, and service was friendly! Got carne asada tacos, chicken tacos, and a barbacoa Gordita. The carne asada taco was for sure the standout! Decent portions at a good price!

Great food. Excellent and fast service. Authentic in design and feel. We love the street tacos, chips and queso, and chimichangas!

We had a discount from a local dining club and wanted to try this place out. Stopped by on a weekday night and it was pretty empty when we arrived. Other than the music, the decor was pretty and ambiance were pretty plain. We ordered a veggie bowl and El Tesoro bowl. Both were decent but not necessarily outstanding. Slowly a few other young patrons came, probably college students. To be honest, the portions were small compared to other Mexican restaurants around. I have a feeling this is a very mom-and-pop operation and I wish them well.

Good portions, friendly staff, legit af handmade corn tortillas. This was a great stop; small space inside but it's very nice bright and clean. We had Enchiladas Mineras w/ rice and beans, and tacos de lengua, cacheta, and campechano; all 3 were good but the lengua was best. The house salsa was nice and spicy. We will be back!

I ordered Door Dash, so I can't speak to the service or the atmosphere of the restaurant. However, the food was better than I expected. Ordered a variety of things. The steak quesadilla was by far the best with the two tacos a close second. The Gordita and cheese tamales were average, but not terrible. Spanish rice was good and the beans were tasty, albeit a bit chunkier than most places.

I was finally able to try this place last night after it being on my list for a while and I was NOT disappointed. My partner got an asada California burrito and I got an asada and an al pastor gordita - everything was delicious! We also tried the chips and salsa and hibiscus agua fresca - both winners. The portions are large and the menu is very reasonably priced. What really set this place over the top was the amazing customer service - they were amazingly nice and really went above and beyond for everyone I saw come in while I was there. I can't wait to go back!

Cute Mexican spot with a lively, vibrant atmosphere. Staff was friendly and the lady who took my order was very willing to answer questions about the menu. I went with the Birria tacos and one carne asada taco. The birria tacos were decent but not the best I've had. Visually they looked so good and my favorite part was the way the torilla was prepared. However the meat was not as tender as i would've liked and the flavor was slightly lacking. On the other hand, the flavor and texture of the carne asada was really good! Overall, it was a good meal and I definitely want to come back to try the rest of the menu. My friend got a burrito and she said it was the best burrito she had ever had.

Such a delicious restaurant located in Chapel Hill. Although the menu is simple, you can customize to accommodate dietary requirements. I ordered the jalapeño relleno taco with black beans instead of refried and the veggie Gordita. Service was friendly and I will absolutely come back and try the other items on the menu!

I'm very excited to have this style of Mexican restaurant right in my neighborhood. The kitchen is open so you can see them grilling in there. Smells wonderful. Hopefully it will remain this busy over time. Waiting on my quesadilla now!

    BURRITO CALIFORNIA

Fresh, flavorful, and delicious. For a reasonable price you get a couple pound burrito with your choice of meat and tasty ingredients. For a quick lunch on the go or takeout, this place exceeded my expectations.

Food was decent, prices average for the neighborhood -- but cleanliness of the place was a little concerning. I'm not sure I'd go back.

Great food! We went at lunch and it was busy and service was a bit slow. But worth it.

They have the best Mexican food in the area. Friendly service and they keep the tables clean, especially for how busy they get.

Our server was great and very knowledgeable on the menu and had great wine recommendations. The Soupe aux Haricots Cannellini was creamy and delicious. The big chunks of bacon were pleasant and tasty finds within the soup as well. The beef tartare was perfectly prepared and paired well with the small pieces of toast that came with it. Every bite of the poulet toulousaine (sausage-stuffed chicken) was delicious. Each bite was juicy and very well-seasoned. The fondant potatoes were so soft and good. The knife sliced through them like butter. It was amazing and the Brussel sprouts were divine. I loved it.

The service was very "Parisian"--they left you alone but were there when you needed a server. The omelettes were divine. We had the "supreme" which is off the menu but is a combo of ham and mushrooms. The eggs were silky and the potatoes on the side err smashed fried potatoes with caramelized onions. My son had the gnocchi which was quite good. The morning bun was the hit, though, and a must-get when you go. The have a pretty impressive bar program, too. I had a French 75 (since it's a French restaurant, seemed like the call) which had Theo house made pea-lavender syrup. It was excellent! Delicious, strong coffee too.

I still love the fruit tart - good texture and mix of sweet and slightly tart. The macaron and elephant ear was pretty good. The macaron had good flavor and texture. Elephant ears tasted good, though I would've preferred more layers and more of a crisp. Lemon poppy danish was the standard danish. I sadly wasn't as impressed by the cream puff and eclair dough. I know they make their pastries fresh every day but on a busy Saturday at 10:30 am, the eclair dough didn't taste fresh and was not as light and airy as I hoped. Cream puff was ok. The dough was also meh. BUT the focaccia was amazing!! It was on-sale day old bread but had great flavor and was soft on the inside and slightly crispy in the outside. All in all, for what's in the area and restaurant's atmosphere, it's still worth the trip.

When I order a box, I order it plain and then add my own fixings at home. My box creations can make up to three meals. I've begun adding my own fixings to their biscuits too. I'm pleased with Rise's pricing, regular coupon offers for loyalty members, and a reward point system that's easy to track. They've recently sent out coupons in those coupon clipper mailers and I found they carry great value. This Rise location (like their location in Chapel Hill) caters primarily to takeout clients. There are some bar tables and outdoor patio seats if you want to eat on site. I'm a takeout client myself (as I hinted above) and prefer building on top of what I order. Rise's biscuits can't be beat. They are flaky, fluffy, and reheat well. My tips for reheating: - Microwave: Lightly sprinkle water on the open faces of your biscuit (not the hard crust) and cover before microwaving. - Air fryer: Use the "Reheat" setting and reheat your biscuit at 325º for 4-5 minutes.
