The place was so cute. The place is very small so when it's busy you have to be patient when waiting for them to clear tables. The food was delicious and came out in decent time. The food was amazing!!! It was so flavorful. They give you so many sauces and the soup has a warm spicy flavor. Perfect for people who handle super spicy food. The food came out hot and the cheese was pulling. So good!! Would go again!!

I'm pretty sure this was the first birria taco I had ever had. I know where the heck have I been?! Gotta say very satisfying. The accompanying broth had lots of flavor, studded with some pieces of meat and a few veggies i think. The tacos were cheesy and hot and pretty damn delicious. I was a bit rushed and had to eat my tacos quickly to make it somewhere else but as they cooled off the flavors were more easily distinguishable and overall more enjoyable. The first taco was a little hot and I didn't enjoy it as much due to the temperature but that's a good thing that it was fresh and piping hot. It was just my personal timing that was the problem. Oh a nice cold horchata was the perfect accompaniment. I would love to check them out again on a future trip to Durham. Now this is quite authentic and not upscale - a utilitarian space but nice service and quality food. Good for a satisfying meal.

Very clean!! We ordered the Birria tacos and the Birria Ramen. Amazing meal! Best Birria so far in the Triangle.

Oh my goodness! Where has this place been all my life!!! From the start to the end it was a great experience. This place is definitely a hidden gem as others have stated! The guy who took my order was very welcoming and greeted me instantly. I ordered the Birria with extra veggies. There was another lady there whom greeted me and had a warm smile....always pleasant to see. The Birria itself blew my mind but the dipper, I could drink it by itself. It did not lack any flavor. They definitely understood my taste bud's assignment lol. I even called them to thank them for such a great lunch! Not many places like this. I'll definitely be back...at least 2 a twice month at minimum. Definitely 5 stars

Hispanic hospitality is alway lovely. Le huarache was such a fun spot and close to the highway! Birria tacos were huge!!! I love that cilantro and onions were added on the side. (Not all places do this). It was giving authentic vibes which we loved. So delicious and the sauces were saucing. I loved eating this and I couldn't even finish. The consume wasn't as oily but still good! I recommend using al the sauce (not too spicy I promise) and always sprinkle some lime juice!!! You could easily tell the quality of the meat was fresh and clean. I need to mention that this is a great gluten free option!

Unassuming but very clean and modestly decorated interior. Very friendly staff. If what my GF and I had was any indication of the quality of the food, wow. We will be back to try some more dishes on small selection of which everything looked great. They don't have any desserts on the menu but there was some kind of strawberry concoction that my GF loved.

The tacos were really good 10/10. But the birra dipping sauce I was not impressed. It wasn't bad but not seasoned at all. The ramen was really goood it definitely was on point. The passionfruit juice was real passionfruit juice not the fake ones they sell. The service was lovely everyone there is nice and good customer service. The ambiance is very chill.

I recently found this restaurant on Instagram and decided to give it a try after church for lunch with friends. I love Birria and have always wanted to try it at a restaurant or food truck. Unfortunately, I have not found one who serves Birria Tacos until TODAY. Me and one my friends got the Queso Birria Tacos Plate with the consomé. My other friend ordered the Birria Ramen. We all enjoyed our meals and it was great to try something new! I thought the Tacos were seasoned well and the meat was cooked perfectly. If I were to give one critique it would be for the consommé and would like the broth to be more flavorful. The consommé wasn't bland, but wasn't super flavorful. I would give the consommé a 5 or 6 out of 10. If I am craving for Birria tacos, I will definitely come back here again! If you are in north Durham, NC please give this place a try!

Loved El Huarache. Was in the mood for birria tacos and luckily I saw this place here on Yelp. It's definitely a hole in a wall type place from the outside but as soon as you step into the restaurant it comes alive. The service was amazing, treated me like family. The tacos were so good and price reasonably at $12. 100% recommended coming to el huarache!!!

Delicious food! Very happy with everything we ordered. The servings were very generous, fresh and flavorful. Lots of bench indoor seating. Also loved that staff brought out each dish as soon as it was prepared, so it was hot and delicious, and you didn't have to wait!

Husband had three of the tacos: asada, birria, and chorizo, and according to him all three were really good.

Came here after the Durham Farmers Market with a friend and wow this place was a surprise. …read more I went with the grain bowl and honestly it is one of the best I have had in downtown Durham. It is built on quinoa and rice with black beans and kale, then layered with corn salsa, tomato cortido, guacamole, and a creamy acevichado style sauce that pulls everything together. It is finished with a crunchy mix of pepitas, nuts, and grains. The balance is quite ideal in my view. My friend had the rotisserie chicken with two sides, kale and slaw, and it was just as impressive. Crispy skin, juicy inside, and really clean flavors. Simple food done right and GF friendly. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Prices land right where you would expect for the quality, roughly 16 to 21 dollars depending on what you order, and it feels worth it. My bowl plus side of dark chicken was plenty. A few notes. Parking is what you would expect for downtown, so plan accordingly. Service was solid and friendly, but nothing that stood out. The vibe inside is festive and relaxed, bright and open, and just a fun place to hang out for lunch. Porbably not a special occasion. I also suspect it could get loud when full. This is definitely going into my regular rotation. That grain bowl is going to be hard to pass up next time, so instead of replacing it I will probably just add a side or an empanada and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

The empanadas, arepas and Luna Grain Bowl were awesome. We had their generous portions and…read moreperfectly seasoned chicken, pork and brisket with these. Their cocktails were also very good. Nice decor and vibe. Service was also good.
