Fiesta Grill is always busy- always. The reason is that the food is delicious- always. The owners are almost always there and taking care of customers along with their long-time staff. Very friendly and accommodating. There is always an active buzz in the restaurant but not to the point of being difficult to have a conversation. The ambience is very casual and family friendly. The chicken mole, which is impossible to find- authentic, is amazing...moist white meat baked in mole sauce for several hours. I'd only been here once, many years ago when a friend suggested it. I live way over in Durham so don't get over this way much. I was on my way to Burlington for a covid vax last week and decided to stop here for lunch first. Unfortunately the dine in was still closed so I just ordered and ate in my car. The staff is super friendly and taking great care to make sure all the safety protocols are in place. I know they'd love to reopen for inside diners, but I appreciate their caution. On that first visit way back when I had one of their massive burritos that was incredible. This time I decided to try the chicken mole enchiladas. OMG, it was absolutely incredible from the very first taste. The portion is enormous and it comes with beans and rice. So much that I barely made a dent in it, but that's ok, I had leftovers! Their salsa is very good, but I wasn't crazy about the chips. Thicker and smaller than I'm used to at other places and not warm at all. But the mole is absolutely to die for!! Hands down the best Mexican food I ever ate, possibly my favourite restaurant anywhere. From the outside, you might almost be scared to stop there but it is well worth it. Everything starts with the incredibly nice and friendly staff. Then there is free chips and salsa, I believe both are homemade and both are great. I had the Fajitas, and they are hands down the best I've had anywhere. My wife and son loved their shrimp enchiladas. The only problem is last time I lived in North Carolina, I put on 70 pounds and still blame Fiesta Grill for it. read more

Don't take the three stars harshly but I do serially judge every place I eat in order to hopefully have someone read it and want to look at what might need to be improved. The food is delicious I've been coming here for years and 7/10 times (that's pretty damn good) is how good a time I have here, that being said it is a small business and parking is not much and dinning in is tricky because it gets filled up fast. The food quality is good the chips are normally always good and the pricing compared to other Mexican restaurants is amazing. The waiters are amazing and the owners are as well. It would be great if they could expand just a little so they could have more tables and also better parking but nothing to big that it looses its touch, one thing I disliked is that a lot of people order food to go and sit at tables drinking a beer waiting for their food and then stay there longer while some dine in customers could be getting seated and eating instead they leave. read more

I was on my way to Chapel Hill to baby sit for my sister who lives right down the road from this restaurant, so she treated me to dinner and suggested this spot . She called in a take out order for me and I picked it up on my way to her house. I had never been there before, so I had no idea what to expect. This is a no frills type of place, very casual. The man behind the counter was SO friendly! I didn't take any pictures because it was take out and I honestly didn't think it would rock my world like it did! Holy cow! It's the next day and I'm STILL thinking about how incredible the food was. I am normally an al pastor type of gal, but my sister ordered me a simple beef taco, chicken enchilada, rice, and beans. A group of friends and I happened upon Fiesta Grill on the back roads from Chapel Hill to Mebane. We were immediately greeted by friendly faces who helped expand a table for our party of 6. They started us off with some chips and salsa, both which were delicious. We added an order of guacamole, which came with more chips and some sour cream. The chips were excellent - they were thick and substantial, which I like as opposed to the thin store-bought chips. The menu is extensive and covers a lot of ground. I went with my go-to, a burrito - and decided on the Burrito de Chile Colorado, which had beef and refried beans, and was covered in red sauce. The menu was accurate in its description, so it was my fault that I failed to realize there wouldn't be any lettuce, tomatoes, etc, in the burrito. However, there isn't - so be warned. It had good flavor, but the meat-and-beans-only inside the burrito was heavier than I was expecting. It's also a HUGE burrito - honestly probably enough for two people. I ended up eating most of it, but I was particularly hungry for that meal. The service was friendly, and our food came out a little slower than I would have hoped, but it wasn't painstakingly slow. The pricing is reasonable for the amount of food you get. Also, they had a 100 sanitation score, which is pretty impressive. read more

It's simple and if you want straight up stick to your ribs that's pretty much three ingredients put together in different ways and your favorite flavor is salt then you'll love it but it made it inedible for me. The availability of very good to excellent Mexican food has increased enormously in almost all parts of North Carolina since Fiesta Grill first opened its doors almost 15 years ago, yet this restaurant continues to serve up some of the very best traditional and Tex-Mex dishes in the state, for our tastes at least - sans frills, fads, and assorted trendy BS! And despite its location, diminutive size, and minimal ambiance, it has provided a consistently outstanding dining experience when that fresh tasting, perfectly seasoned food is coupled with fast, very friendly service, and has done so for all of those 15 years. The menu here is broad, and there literally is something for everyone, and almost everything is made fresh, in house, and that is at the center of why their food stands out in a rising tide of competition. We came early this Sunday because I'd been craving Huevos Rancheros for quite a bit, and few do it any better than here. We'd spent a good part of the drive from Greensboro discussing what else we'd order, no easy task since we have so many, many favorites on this menu. The Carnitas, Enchiladas Suiza, Chile Relleno, hard shell Taco (sorry, but from time to time I like one), Tacos Mexicano (soft street style tacos), Crab Enchiladas (real crab meat & plenty of it), Chile Verde, Steak al Carbon, Pork Adobo, Nando's Burrito, and Bravo's Burrito are all dishes we've enjoyed a number of times. On the weekends, they add Menudo (the only version of this soup I've really liked) and Tostadas de Ceviche (excellent fish here). So, most of the drive time was indeed needed to whittle it down, a real part of the fun on these "foodie" road trips. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, a Chile Relleno, a Chicken Enchilada with Verde Sauce, and 2 Tacos Mexicanos (1 Carnitas, 1 Carna Asada), and started with their Cheese Dip to begin the meal, along with the excellent house Salsa. The Cheese Dip is very good, and the salsa here is among our very favorites - quite chunky (nice size pieces of tomato and onion), loaded with fresh cilantro, and brings the heat - the kind that builds and stays for awhile, pleasantly so. The chips are made in house, and are thicker than most, and are toasted - an excellent start to the meal. The Huevos Rancheors ($8.95) begin with very crisp tortillas (much like the chips mentioned above), which are then spread with refried beans, smothered with ranchero sauce & cheese, and topped with 2 fried eggs, and to round out the plate, there is even more refried beans and their outstandingly seasoned rice. This entire combination was huge, and as always, simply excellent. The Chile Relleno (here you can choose mild or hot, so hot it was) was outstanding - the heat was present as requested, the pepper quite crunchy & very tasty, the seasoned beef plentiful, then the whole thing smothered in cheese - those who want a truly "authentic" Mexican dish need look no further, though sadly, most will not recognize it as such! The Tacos Mexicanos are huge, and while the price of $3.65 may be daunting to the fiscally conservative, and will absolutely scare the crap out of the simply cheap, what you receive will make 4 of the typical $1.50, skinny, "Taco Tuesday", type street tacos. These were superb, and the tenderness and flavor of the Carnitas were as good as it gets, imho. The Chicken Enchilada was no less outstanding, for our tastes at least - as Alice said, it is exactly like the ones we fix at home. The chicken is tender, obviously slow cooked, exploding with flavor on its own, but when smothered in a Verde Sauce that causes you to understand the importance of the tomatillo to this sauce, it moves to a whole different level. I can not think of a better way to spend a hot, lazy Sunday morning than this - driving down the memory lane that is NC Highway 54 from Burlington to Chapel Hill, enjoying an incredible meal that was exactly what you wanted and needed in every way, and then the return ride, totally satiated in body, mind, and spirit - Come on Monday, bring it!. read more

Friendly service. Menu- extensive. Almost too many options. Per prior recommendations we go the mole chicken. The chicken was very soft and well cooked. If you're a fan of mole sauce I'm sure it was a good one-- but i personally would not recommend it. Also got the carnitas which were soft and with good flavor. I'd recommend them but not a must have.
