So freaking good. There are a few picnic tables in the parking lot to munch after ordering. Tacos are packed with filling but notably lack chopped onions. It comes with grilled onions and there is also a self serve pickled onions container. I couldn't find prices for half the menu, and I think each taco is over three dollars. However, the price is justified considering the large chunks of high quality meat in each. Highly recommend loading on the pickled onions. The lime was juicy and meats were tender. They also do not open at 6:30pm. We came at 7pm, knowing they didn't open at 6:30pm and they arrived around 7:15 and took a bit of time to set up. Worth the wait for me! read more

Y'all ain't even know how much money I've spent on the #5 breakfast burrito at City Bus (currently known as Taco King USA , until he gets his other bus fixed up). The location is in the parking lot right in front of Carolina Detail place. Mac or Emilio, the owner of the bus handles the monetary transactions while his wife does the cooking. He sells a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, drinks, etc. I cannot talk enough about the #5 breakfast burrito which contains chorizo (Mexican sausage), bacon, eggs , rice , and beans. Get that green sauce too. Ughh. PS. He is consistently closed on Mondays, but is typically there everyday from 8PM-2AM (even though his hours state otherwise). He is sometimes closed on certain days when he has catering events, although there is no social media coverage when he's not gonna be there . I'm still addicted to his food though. So this used to be one of my favorite spots and I haven't gone back in weeks since my last couple bad experiences. The food now is simply shit idk why but they change their meats specially the asada and Al pastor I guess Americans don't know the difference and they can get away with it but I know what it used to be and supposed to be. The food is not marinated and the prices went up a lot! I might as well go dine in at Monterey or bandidos and spend the same or less. Of the plethora of taco food truck options in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, this one is among the worst. I had chicken tacos the other night, and the chicken was so tough and dry it was almost inedible. Moreover, I originally wanted to order pupusas, but they were out. There's another taco truck nearby called Latin Grill in Carrboro that serves much better food for basically the same price. This is definitely one of the things that I'm going to miss most about the Chapel Hill area. Coming here late at night with my friends, whether tipsy or not, and wolfing down in 4-5 tacos/burritos is one of my fondest memories. The guy who runs the place is super nice -- there was one time we showed up 15 minutes late, unaware that they had closed and were calling it a night, and he still served us! He's super awesome. This place has kick ass breakfast burritos for a solid price. You can get potato, chorizo, bacon, eggs, cheese, and beans all rolled up in a flour tortilla for about $3 -- and it can fill you up! I usually go for two, since they're so delicious. It's definitely one of the best deals that you can find in Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Pair it with a Jarritos or a Coke and you've got yourself a good time. Also, THEY HAVE HORCHATA. This is personally my favorite taco truck in the area, and I'm sad to be leaving it. This is probably the PERFECT place to go for a late night snack. They have a wide selection of meats and menu items that can be mixed and matched in practically every way. On top of that, their prices are super reasonable, especially for the amount of food that you receive. Personally, I usually get either a barbacoa (Mexican BBQ) or pastor (marinated pork) Super Taco, which includes the meat of your choosing, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, black beans and rice for only $3. When I'm not feeling that, I usually go for the Burrita de Carborro, which has your choice of beef or chicken, potatoes, rice, cheese, and black beans for $4.50. Also, they provide two sauces for your dining pleasure and I usually drench my food in their spicy sauce, because it's just that good. The owner of City Bus is always friendly, energetic, and definitely passionate about what he does. One night while I was ordering, he noticed that two people stole his sauce bottles, and he personally chased them maybe a block or two to retrieve them. The food comes out in a timely manner, and this place takes credit cards, which is a huge plus because I never have cash on me. read more

This place is awesome! I live ln Cary so it's about a 30 minute drive, and very well worth it ! Been here twice, first time it was late and stopped by to get some tacos they were fantastic l. We've loved coming to dinner at City Bus during trips to Carrboro. First: it's literally a giant, blue, school bus. How can you not love that? The menu is great for a food truck and super clear. Love the tacos-the pastor was great and the choriqueso is a greasy delight. We came on a freezing night and had some charro bean soup, which was a fun and different way to take the beans. It was yummy and kept us warm while we waited for our orders, which took a very short time. Prices were a little on the high side, but relatively common for food trucks. Highly suggest! read more

Taco truck? Nay... taco bus! Free wine and empty stomach do not an awesome combination make. And I was ravenous by the time I pulled myself away from the party with said free wine. Luckily, City Bus seems to always be parked directly outside Peccadillo -- and I pounced! I don't often see pupusas, so I ordered one of those. Hubby claims he ordered enchiladas (but what he received definitely looked a lot more like tacos. Could be that aforementioned wine coming in to play again...) I dumped hot sauce on my pupusa and basically ate it in two bites. So I'm not sure I can weigh in on it accurately, other than to say it had oozey cheese, and I should have ordered two. Because after swallowing it nearly whole, I proceeded to eat half of Phil's order. The refried beans were soupy and sad. But the enchilada(?)/taco-looking things were darn good, and there were 5 of them. This is the best place to eat in Chapel Hill. I eat here on average 3-4 times a week because it's so good. It's very hard to find really spicy food that can accommodate my cravings, but this place has the hottest sauce. A wonderful local landmark that also happens to have some of the best tacos in town. Make sure to get both a traditional taco and one with "dirty" meat. By dirty I mean beef tounge, cabeza or even chicharon. These traditional taco meats are often lovingly made and will reward the more adventurous eaters. So I've been going to a lot of taco stops in chapel hill and by far my favorite one is the City Bus. They've literally renovated a school bus into an efficient and incredible taco truck(bus) their tacos are delicious and have the genuine taste of a Hispanic flavor. I'm from a Hispanic background and these tacos remind me of my mother's Mexican style homemade tacos. And not a lot of people can get close bit these guys at City Bus certainly can. I really love their variety of choices as well and when ya stop by make sure to get a bottle of Sangría. Don't worry it's not alcohol and everyone of all ages will love it. My go-to food choice after a late night at work. I used to live on Brewer lane and often didn't get done at my job as a waitress until 2 or 3am so I was always relieved to see City Bus parked on the corner on my way home. This is by far the best 'taco truck' in the area. The carne asada plate is my personal favorite menu item. I have never been more disgusted by the rudeness and inconsideration that this taco truck displayed towards me tonight. I brought a coupon that was given to me, and the man was adamant that it was a copy. He would not accept the coupon, and I could understand his worries but whatever happened afterwards appalled me. I ordered quite a bit of food with the coupon and once he wouldn't take it, I told him to take one item off of my order since I couldn't use the coupon. Then, he says my food is ready but instead of making what I ordered, he made what I told him to take off my order earlier. I tried explaining to him that it was incorrect in the nicest way possible (which is hard for me because I can be an angry person sometimes) and he told me I was wrong and shoved the food in my face. I have never been more disrespected and disappointed. He was VERY rude about the coupon and getting my order wrong, even though he was persistent that I was wrong. Clearly, he has never worked in customer service because the customer is always right and in this case, I was being truthful and just wanting a good meal. Instead I was disrespected, told I was wrong, and accused of using a bad coupon (which it WAS REAL). So PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.
