I've been there more times than I can count, and it's always been consistently good, whether I'm eating in or just grabbing something to take home. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Arrived with my family, it took 15 minutes to get water. Right before we are getting ready to leave we get our water and they take our order. Deciding to give them a second chance (mistake #1) we stuck around. While waiting my toddler made a big mess and my wife asked for a bunch of napkins, she was brought 3. While we are waiting for our food we are nibbling on some decent, at best, salsa only to run out of chips that never got refilled. My fajita's come and they are spitting scalding oil all over me. I had to turn to shield my son from the splatter. The fajita's themselves were decent but nowhere near a redeeming factor. My entire family ran out of water almost before the food even got there and it never got refilled. Oh, but wont someone think of the children? Nope, apparently not. Plates that would feel right at home in a volcano plopped right down in front of the children. Not only is this another unsafe practice, mostly because the table is so small there's no way my fajita's and even one other plate would fit with any kind of elbow room, but because it's FOR KIDS. So now you have a 5 and a 3 year old that are hungry, because it's dinner and by now they've waited patiently for 30 minutes after arrival for their food, but no now they have to wait another 10 minutes just for the temperature to dip slightly below flesh melting. My poor wife had it worst. She ordered the #23 and her chili riano was so disgusting she just left it. My wife who never wastes anything, took two bites and said "this is easily one of the most disgusting things i've ever eaten." Normally this is the part where the server asks how everything is and you can mention it, maybe getting a replacement, that would be nice other than that no one EVER came by the table. Eventually we finished and I stood there holding the baby while my two other children stood next to me thinking that would be the sign to bring the check. Nope, eventually we just packed up and left, my wife went to the front and paid. So TLDR TERRIBLE service, mediocre food, they don't think much about safety, oh and terrible service. This is the only time in my life I have given a crappy tip and felt like i STILL over paid. It's sad because we're still new to the area and were excited to support a local business and to find a Mexican place near the house. This is one that we will never revisit. read more

I'm from Texas and visiting the area and lately from what I have tried, Minnesota can't get Mexican food right. I'm very picky when it comes to good Mexican food and in when it comes to El Tequilas I may be judging harshly because I've been spoiled by superb Mexican food in Texas. Lets start with the chips and salsa. While the salsa didnt set my world on fire it was decent enough to finish my tray of warm chips which i hope was a good sign. The prices on the menu werent outrageous so thats also good. I ordered the LA Mexicana Enchiladas. I would have tried to fajitas but from what i have seen, when it comes to Mexican food in Minnesota they pack on way too many veggies and not enough meat. The plate was okay but I swore my item came with Guac but it didn't so I ordered some on the side and it was a Lil bowl for FIVE DOLLARS. Nah man. That's a minus right there even if it's the best guac. Over all its alright and I'd rate it lower but it's the only Mexican joint in the area where there aren't many good food options. read more

This restaurant should stick to serving tequila only. My dad and I stopped by for a late lunch. The older lady couldn't have been less interested in serving us. She didn't welcome us even with a hi or hello. She just sat us and walked off. Then she went to talk with a table of people (one of two in there at the time), she spent ten minutes talking with them before coming back to acknowledge us being there. When she came back by we told her that we were ready to order and she said I'll be with you in a few minutes and walked off again. Cons: the food was decent but probably a little over priced for the portions and customer service. The salsa was too spicy for me and my children. The busboy was not friendly, he took my water glass off the table while I was still sitting there. There cleaning chemical were a little strong, got a whiff of it 3 times while I was eating. Wow! Family of five from Albuquerque reporting in. Everything is very good. Enchiladas, chalupa, burritos, all good. You can ask them to spice it up and they will add chopped jalapeño. Add a roasted jalapeño for even more fire. They have home made fried ice cream! read more

I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. The service was quick and pleasant. The food was good and reasonably priced: $10 for a two-taco meal with beans and rice. I was not hungry at the end. My friends who live in the area come here often and think it is great, and I have to agree based on our meal here. Maybe we came on a good night, based on some other reviews, but my friends must always come on good nights. I would eat here again and will do so when coming back to the area next spring. Great authentic Mexican food. I always order a large salsa and chips to go. The steak and chicken fajita chimichanga is a favorite as is the chalupa. One word though of advice, you pay for almost all extras such as sour cream and guacamole. Some items have them included, but don't assume. They can add up! I've always had great service every time I've been here (and I go almost one a week). The food always comes out very fast and its always great. The chips and salsa are delicious and I have never had a problem getting a refill. Every food item I've tried has been good! YUMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Love this place!!! They have menu's you can bring home with you and the prices are not a hidden secret. They have a punchcard program for frequent people...like myself. ITS DELICIOUS!!!! Large menu and good drinks! My favorite! Good for large groups or just you two...or bring the little ones. Sopapias(where's the spell check) for desert is great or the fried ice cream. Fun for birthdays...call ahead to make sure they sing and bring out the hat or else the birthday boy or girl might talk them out of it. I knew better to go there but I was desperate for Mexican food decided to give it another try for about the 5th time. The food is absolutely just not that great people that do not know. authentic Mexican food will like it, but if you want real Mexican food do not go here this is not authentic this is more Americanized, I paid 13.00 for some chili verde. The portions were very small for what you pay for. And my kids ordered something else it did not look very appetizing, the portions are not very good. My son order tacos and they assured him he'd get a authentic Mexican tacos ,while no he did not it was hamburger .....I dislike this place. Their ceviche was so good. I'm talking like next time I go I'm just ordering that. The service was fast, friendly, and fabulous. I never thought to go here until a few weeks ago, and I'm glad I did. It can easily be missed in that little strip mall. I like to also point out they were very courteous and accommodating for my two year old son, which is hard to find in a restaurant.
