This little gem near the Medicine Hat Costco is located in a strip mall, but it's hard to miss the bright signage. Once you walk through the door, it's like you stepped into a restaurant in Mexico. There's sombreros and Mexican flags on the walls, bright paper banners hanging from the ceiling, and Mexican musicians playing in the wall-mounted TV.
Right off the bat, I was served a complimentary basket of authentic taco chips and a variety salsas to snack on. The menu featured a lot of the dishes I've seen in Mexican restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, but I had a hankering for tacos. They also had tamales, which I'm fond of. I ended up ordering a tamale, a carne asada taco, and an el pastor taco. All were fresh and tasty, and very authentic, especially when I washed them down with a cold pineapple Jarritos soda. This was a nice way to get ready for my upcoming trip to Puerto Vallarta. I would definitely recommend this place, and will certainly go back the next time I'm in the Hat. read more
