Dry old cheese sure to give you gastrointestinal issues!
Tishawn F.

Was not the best grocery shopping experince but doable for the time being.1st. Time here and since I don't live near by it'll most likely be the last. Its a Mexican grocery store with good priced fruits and vegetables. The other items other than that are pricey for the area.In all fairness I noticed Superior does that too forcing many people to go to Food 4 less for better savings.. The hot food looked good as far as what a vegetarian could eat,but the cheese tamale F'd my stomach up after it settled in a few hours later extra dry and stale even.Im thinking they probably had an old batch and didn't want to throw them out. That part was scary considering a lot of people would rather buy tamales from a reputable store than some vendor on the street that might not have the best cleanliness..I guess you live and learn, only go there for fruit and veggies from now on.

The service wasn't that good, Employees didn't speak English (or were just choosing not too..) Agua Chile LOOKS BOMB, BUT this was probably the blandest Agua Chiles I've ever had. ITS SUPER GREEN & SUPER WATERY. Very disappointed. Lines where extremely long, only like 3 registers open.

My friend lost his wallet here and they kept it safe and everything was intact so this is an automatic 5 stars. I go here a lot for avocados and beer. Every once and a while, I'll get some meat for the grill or the ingredients to make nachos. El Super is catered to the Hispanic market, however the selection is at par for ay type of person to find the basics they'll need. The frozen section could use an update, but this place is clean and has integrity. So I'll keep doing good business.

i wonder what a bieber cake tastes like? LMAO XD

soooo cheeeeap!!!! wow! EL super is great because of the prices, but they do need improvement in the customer service area - or does it matter that this grocery is in East LA, where customers bag their own goods?

I honestly dont know why anyone would want to drink a matcha and shop at the same time, but this…read moreplace is really great for the coffee shake I'm addicted to. It's called Canyon Coffee, but the menu has a rotating selection of espressos, so I'm assuming. The cashier ladies are nice, a bit slow, but there's a seating area so you're not in a long line while a bunch of people wait next to you. They always close the hot foods early so if you need to customize any drinks or order a matcha first, be sure to go to the espresso station and then the cashier station, before purchasing groceries. Better than Lazy Acres/Bristol Farms. L.A. G&C blends in beautifully with the community the market with space set up for craft collabs and the holiday fair, and integrates nuances as distinguishable as Erewhon's, but defines its offering apart from other markets. The only thing is, they dont have many outlets which is strange because the seating area houses so many people theoretically speaking.

I've shopped here for a month now and they are definitely trying to use Erewhon as a blueprint…read more I've worked at Erewhon for many years, so Im very familiar with quality and esthetics. The hot food bar definitely needs improvement and definitely not for those prices. Lacks flavor and the temperature is always cold. -_- I went there 3 days in a row and noticed The cucumber salad isnt fresh and made daily. Tried it and trashed it. Tried the Cortado and Latte and their espresso is very bitter and lacked depth. Most of the staff on the floor are rude and are "checked out" and very unwelcoming. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Also, the prices are very reasonable, especially during sales, so it's cheaper than at neighboring markets. Also, it's nice that there is a bakery and a mini restaurant inside the market. It's also cool that they have a little Nature Republic section in the store, since it's sometimes hard to find specific Nature Republic products. I love that they still have some stock of these Korean cosmetics lolol.

I asked the cashier if she had any paper towels, and she initially said no, but then she took one out from behind the counter and handed it to me. Then she asked me if I still wanted to keep the pickled radish. Like, seriously? I didn't make that hole! Why would I want to keep something that spilled all over my bags and made all my groceries smell sour? And then, instead of helping me clean up, she went off to get more paper towels and started wiping down the counter with Windex. Meanwhile, I had a mountain of groceries to bag, and she just left me to do it all by myself. What kind of cashier acts like that? And just for the record, it was a female cashier.

Today…read moreI was doing my monthly Rosie Bunny Bean run, hadn't had my morning kombucha and decided to stop in. I was promptly greeted by Marcy - she's amazing btw! I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!
