This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Puerto Escondito ... the prices are sooo reasonable and the food is super fresh, healthy and 100% delicious... also super helpful that they have vegan and vegetarian options which isn't super common in this area ... I ordered the falafel wrap with a cold tomato based gazpacho and both of those foods go perfectly together ... the wrap itself is already perfectly balanced with the smooth velvety hummus which paired perfectly with what might have been the best falafel ever and when you have it with the cool refreshing gazpacho it is just perfect on a hot sunny day ... perfectly filling without being too much My partner proceeded to order the shawarma empanada which I snuck a quarter of and that was also perfect with the cool refreshing tomato gazpacho ... if there is one food you should get here though it should be the gazpacho though - esp if you never had it as it is a very unique soup in that it is cool and refreshing while highlighting the best elements of the tomato We also like that they let you have 5 pesos water refills if you bring your own container which is super economical!!! read more

Had breakfast today. Food is mediocre. The eggs are not of good quality. I found a lot of other places offers better ingredients. Waiter asked if I wanted to add tips on the bill when paying with credit card. Only plus is there are enough fans in the area to keep it cool. read more

I ordered the gazpacho and a falafel sandwich. I enjoyed the gazpacho, which was very pulverized but had a great flavour. The falafel sandwich was another matter...the pita was more like a cracker than a pita, and the falafels were undercooked and pasty. I found it inedible, and I didn't. read more
This is a great little restaurant near the entrance to Carrizalillo beach. The food is great. They have a basic offering of middle eastern comfort food: shwarma, falafel, hummus, etc, along with cold beers. They have a kids play area, but it doesn't interfere with your meal if you're a non breeder. For four people, we spent ~200 pesos on four meals, several bottles of water and 3 beers. Definitely a great deal for the budget conscious traveler or a hungry surfer. read more

We met Hector, the owner at the Mini Super 69 on Sunday and learned he owned El Sultan, next door to the Mini Super 69. We stopped in today for lunch and ordered the gazpacho....very refreshing and smooth. We also ordered the pita pizza with shawarma and hummus with falafel. I ordered the local craft beer Indio. Everything was delicious. The gazpacho hits the spot in this heat. The pita pizza is similar to a quesadilla and you can choose a filling, if you like. The hummus was smooth and not overpowering. The falafel is best eaten when it is immediately served. read more

At first, it seemed strange to find a Middle-Eastern restaurant in a Mexican beach town although after a few minutes consideration, other than the language, the weather and topography are similar to Haifa or Alexandria. The surprise was that the hummus, falafel, and tabbouleh were as good as the best I've had in either of those cities and the Arab flat bread was better. Unlike most Israeli falafel restaurants, El Sultan's bread was fresh from the oven. Apparently, the locals agree. There are two El Sultan's in town. One is in the Rinconada district, near Carrizalillo beach. It is the ideal place to meet friends for a chat and snack. The other is on Zicatela beach looking directly out at the glistening water beyond the sand and coconut palms. Hopefully, I'll not read this review when I'm back in the Pennsylvania winter. It would bring tears to my eyes. read more
