The food is just so fresh and tasty and everything seems homemade. I love the outdoor umbrella seating on a nice day especially when you're holding a coconut in your hand. Just WOW can't say enough great things. This local spot is a must try!

It has a decent amount of street parking, as well as a large green area with toys where kids can and do play. They have plenty of outdoor seating so this is a great spot to come and relax on a spring or summer afternoon/evening. I didn't feel like it was too busy when we got there, but it did take them a little bit to take our orders, get our drinks, and get our food out, so maybe it was. That being said, the ladies handling orders were MOVING. The menu does not list prices. You have to go to their website to see what the current price of food is. I got an order of the chips and guac and the fish tacos (grilled). The fish tacos were huge, which was delightful and it came with three. The guac was okay - I think it needed more cilantro, lime, or salt. My friend got the aguachile and an order of chilaquiles rojo. The aguachile was in this delightfully spicy green sauce - I took some and drenched my taco in it. The perfect combo! The aguachile is huge so my friend sent me home with some, along with my one remaining fish taco. Both were delicious as leftovers.

There's both indoor and outdoor seating with a homey feel. Ended up taking our food to go. The waitress answered all of the questions we had about the menu and after ordering, the food was ready quickly. We got the fajita burrito and texana quesadilla. Both were tasty, came out hot and promptly, and were perfect when we got home to eat. The green and red salsas were tasty. The red which is the spicier of the 2 had a little heat but not too much. We will definitely be back.

They offer a wide variety of tacos (since I was in the mood for tacos I didn't pay much attention to other things), and I was especially excited to see nopal as an option--such a rare treat! The staff were incredibly friendly and patient as we browsed the long menu. I asked for a horchata with no ice and fully expected it to be about 2/3 full (the cup was huge), but to my surprise, they filled it to the top. And it was delicious! My partner ordered a torta that looked amazing... though I didn't get a photo because he devoured it too fast! Definitely recommend this spot and will come back. DIOS MIO !!! Who…read moreknew I'd travel all the way from Los Angeles, CA to Hillsborough, NC to find my favorite Mexican Restaurant!?! Okay, I can't take credit for finding it - my sister, who really knows how to find the best spots anywhere and everywhere told us this is the one! Muchas gracias, mi hermana ‍‍ Well, let's be real, I do have other favorites for different reasons, but everything here is fresh, authentic, and on-point! I would make a trip to Hillsborough just to eat at Tacos Los Altos. They have a great menu, the place is super charming (both inside and on the patio in front), plus they have really good margaritas served in glasses that add to the party vibe. Mom and I really enjoyed our food, then my niece and nephew found us and they loved theirs as well. My nephew was the only one to finish his meal, however. The portions are huge, so be ready for leftovers. I had the chicken breast enchiladas suizas and was amazed at how flavorful and moist the white meat was. They don't skimp on the cheese, either! Our server was kind and attentive, and none of the staff seemed annoyed that we were there a little late in the afternoon when they probably could have been taking a little break. We parked near the Colonial Inn and walked along the super charming street to this gem of a restaurant. I want to go back there right now. Let's hope this family-owned and operated business thrives for generations.

I got the chicken, carnitas, and chorizo, and all three were succulent, flavorful, and filling. Service was super friendly -- the server knew my friend's order off the top of her head, made sure we had all we need, and other folks in the restaurant were friendly, too, it's. Tiny interior, but feels cozy and makes you feel like you're in a little taqueria in Playa del Carmen or something. Highly recommend. These folks know what they're doing and are a major asset to the community.

We chose the place because it was close by where we were doing business in the area. From the outside I figured your run of the mill Mexican in a strip mall . As soon as we entered and seated by the friendly host we enjoyed the day of dead decor. We settled on a citrus shrimp dish served in a cast iron dish which was different, fresh, that includes a side salad that was filled with fresh veggies and rice to accompany the shrimp with warm tortillas. The daily special margarita was excellent and tasted better than expected for a daily special. I will make the 40 minute drive to return very soon.

We will definitely be back there again whenever we are in the Mebane area. Only thing I can say in the negative was all the wait staff was huddled up in a booth staring at there phones the whole time we where there. Our waitress who took good care of us was one of those in the booth. It didn't make any difference to us but some people would think that they were just sitting there not doing anything. Also they revamped the menu. Very nice and colorful. Still highly recommended you give them a try.
