Super happy that we have a seafood city in the 805. I have been on the late train of checking this…read morespot out but finally made it in today for a grocery run. I'd been doing Instacart orders from them but first time physically inside this weekend to check them out. The inside was super super clean. Major points there! In the time I was shopping around they had plenty of staff working, floors being mopped and all of the aisles were well organized and pretty. This market is a pretty standard Asian goods focused grocery store. I found about 85% of what I wanted here. I wish they had a premium sushi section and some more Hawaiian imported goods (aside from juices and sauces) but otherwise I was able to find everything I was looking for. Their hot bar is also solid. A wide selection of items to pick and I felt the pricing was reasonable. Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out.

I have to take time to GLOAT about the amazing service I received with Oscar behind the…read moremeat/seafood counter. Please allow me to take a moment to paint you a picture. 3.5 hours before a dinner party thinking I'm just gonna grab some 12for12$ oysters cause it's Friday. Call in hey what's the prep advance time you need. Nah I got you right now. Perfect Go in and this dude took time probably 10 mins minimum to talk me through perfect accompaniments and how to actually achieve this dinner I wanted. I don't normally eat pork took time to explain this different cuts his recommendations for this salmon and charcuterie plate I was doing. When I say I couldn't have prayed for better help that day without knowing Oscar existed that's a understatement Plus in general this store is fantastically friendly Prepped food counter always takes time and is nice about getting family meals set up even when they're slammed I've spent time at the cheese counter asking the local expert for her recommendations on what each one would go great with. The prime deals they host are normally as good price wise as Costco but then you get organic and some other good extra labels slapped on it. 10/10 12/10 staff 15/10 Oscar and glad I get to live so close by.

a day ago New The 1…read moreStar is NOT for the store which is clean and well stocked or for my usual experiences there (I shop there 2 - 4 times a week). The "minus 4" is for the pickup. As an item I wanted was not in store, I ordered for pickup. First time I have ever done so. I was not sure where to go, what to do etc so I approched the associate who seemed to be handling that area. I saw he was busy so I politely apologized for bothering him and explained I was pretty much clueless on where to go, what to do etc. He told me to check in. I asked him where to do so and he told me to do it the same way I ordered. I ordered on Amazon so tried to open it. Well that store has horrible internet so it took a minute but the only option was curbside vs in store. I again apologized and explained. He told me he wasn't familiar with the app and turned away. I just stood there. Another woman arrived and seemed to be helping out but when I tried to ask her for help, she rather abruptly told me they were busy and other people were waiting. I would not have flinched if she, in a semi polite manner would have simply said something like, "we have quite a few orders but if you don't mind waiting a moment, we will help you." Instead I felt awkward and embarrassed. She did find my order which was handed to me in an efficient but not warm and friendly way and that was it. Both employees seemed irritated that I did not know the "lay of the land" I get the store was busy. They seemed to be short staffed. The woman said they were having technical issues which I totally get and I am sure they were both tired and frustrated. I've been there. But I left feeling ashamed for putting the employees out. Whole Foods - your Oxnard internet is awful so looking for instructions in an email or app is often fruitless. Maybe some clear signage like you have at the Amazon self serve? A simply thing like that would go a long way. I won't try online pickup again. If am item I want is unavailable I will skip it there and purchase it somewhere else. On the upside, Angel, one of your male employees, is always SUPER nice and very helpful. Ditto for the employees at the seafood station. This is the only poor experience I have had.
