Just gorgeous. Its a Spanish tapas restaurant, with wifi and doubles up as a language academy to learn first class Spanish with the aid of some lovely tutors. They host delectable paella night, dishing up the saffrony rice feast from a huge pan and serving it with a cheeky bottle of Rioja. Inside is cavernous, though tiny (only seats 24 people), the acoustic musicians that frequent pulse their folky and flamenco sounds around the place. The music nights are free entry too - bargain. Right now, I can truly think of nothing better than settling down to some chorizo and calamari tapas, a glass of red and chilled musical entertainment on a Friday evening. read more

The front window of El Rincon does remind me of a little restaurant down the side streets of Barcelona. It's colours and decorations draw your eye in and when we walked past the music caught our ears as well. Walking in, we arrived before the main rush, your greeted by a simple bar and relaxed staff each of whom snippets of Spanish can be heard from. We where shown to a table and offered a menu which covered all the tapas dishes we've come to expect of a Spanish menu and decided on a jug of the house Sangria. Service gave us a good amount of time to choose whilst the Sangria helped us along the way, even had a visit from the most relaxed dog we've shared a space with all adding to the ambiance. The dishes we chose were a good range and came pretty much all at once, given the size of table, dish jenga ensued however because we managed to fit it all in. We managed to get a second round in and also spoke to the waitress about the Spanish lessons they offer there. By this time it was really busy with a few locals getting ready for the live band. This place definitely packs all it can in a space. The band was excellent and spontaneous dancing occurred really excellent crowd. All in again really impressed and on a sunny day a serious bit if Spain. Fully visiting again. read more

El Rincon Situated on North Street in Bedminster it is hard to imagine you're on the Costa Del Sol, but El Rincon serves up some delicious Spanish tapas and the fish comes highly recommended by my wife. The interior itself is fairly pokey and with such a small number of tables you will find you need to book, particularly on the weekends. If you do get a table you won't be disappointed however as the staff are very friendly and you get the impression there's a lot of care and thought gone into the meals, with themed nights like Paella night. All of the produce is fresh and caught locally and you can tell, as their seafood dishes are delicious and come highly recommended. read more

El Rincon is small Spanish restaurant at the top of Bedminter's North Street. It feels warm and intimate, at atmosphere that's encouraged by the smallness of the place and the live music they have. They describes themselves as 'an ideal "nook"' and this describes them really well I think - the restaurants a little corner of Bristol you can hide away for an evening with a nice bottle of red wine and some sumptious Spanish food. The menu is conventional, with a good selection of tapas. As well as music, they have a language school and rooms to let - so you can get a full dose of Spanish culture here if you want it. El Rincon is a small slice of a genuinely Spanish experience. read more

I went there for a local trading exchange meeting and we were all warmly welcomed with friendly and great service, nice fool provided. Only fault was that I am a 'real' hot chocolate fanatic the stuff that's not consumer brand rubbish. They didn't have at that time. But it's none the less a cool place and if it wasn't so out of my way to get there I would be a regular for sure read more

Dissappointing. Despite the positive reviews we found the service poor and slow and the food very average. For a Friday night the food options were limited. No prawns. No chorizo al vino. No Rioja wine. This left a pretty limited menu. The tortilla was good. The plate of ibericos came smothered in oil. Something you would never see in Spain. The olives were poor and the Patatas bravas sauce so spicy we could barely touch them. Not in the slightest bit authentic. This has been hailed as authentic Spanish tapas but it fell a long way short of it's claims. I had high hopes as were local but won't be returning except perhaps specifically for the music. There is room for a great spanish bar in Bristol but this isn't it. read more

For my money, currently the best place to dine out in Bristol. Truly authentic tapas (forget about anything you've had in Bristol's various chained tapas restaurants) that tastes fantasic, gives most of the restaurants I've vistited in Spain a run for their money! The venue has a rustic, independent feel, with bags of character. The service is also authentic in the Spanish sense..laid back, slightly haphazard, and without the slightest suggestion of Bristish formality. There is often live acoustic music on Fridays or Saturdays (sadly the website doesn't seem to be up to date at the moment). Inevitably El Rincon will become a victim of its own success, it's becoming harder to secure a table without planning ahead, and it get just a little too busy at times! Another thing to note, since the venue doubles as a language school, the menus are all in Spanish. If you have any problems with translating, my advice is to take a few friends and try everything on the menu! read more
