Sitting opposite what was Jesters on Cheltenham Road, this is a community space which plays host to…read morelanguage schools and the like, though I must confess that I've only been to the bar that sits on the main road. I went to a free gig on a Sunday night put on by a mate, and as you'd expect from this kind of enterprise, the sort of crowd that come here were very warm, friendly and receptive. This is helped by the bar, which is a relaxed venue, long and thin with plenty of wooden seating and tables and a bar at the end. They're available for private hire, have a late licence and host a regular open mic night, so there's something for everyone here and no excuse not to attend this friendly little venue.

Leftbank Centre is a bit of a mixture of things. I guess it's mainly used to hire out a space for…read morelocal musical artists or comedians. There is also a bar which is actually well priced and nicely designed. There is enough space for a large group of people, yet it doesn't feel too large and impersonal. There is also a popular language school in the premises, which mainly offers French, Italian, Spanish and English courses. Prices aren't too bad. A 10 week course in French starts at £120.

Been having lessons with Chris at A2B for several months now - and I genuinely really reccomend…read morethem. A2B got me booked in quickly which was so appreciated. Chis had taken me on as someone who was a nervous inexperienced driver back in late February 2024 and had me driving around (through even heavy traffic and multilane roundabouts!) in no time. He's very patient and explains things really clearly. He's very calm and professional, and has always made me feel safe while I learn. He's very encouraging, and never made me feel silly or embarassed, which has hugely boosted my confidence. Currently practising mock tests, and I'm feeling really great about it. When it comes to driving lessons, you get what you pay for, and I confidently say, you'll get some fantastic lessons here with them. They really do care. He truly cares about his students, the focus is on being a good driver not just passing. I was very reluctant to learn how to drive but now I look forward to my lessons each week. We have a laugh and I can see the progress I am making, which feels fulfilling. Thanks Chris and the rest of the team
